a full-length review of all the racing from The Isle of Man TT 2018. over 25 filming locations close to the action were used to make this video of what turned out to be one of the greatest TT events ever! Filming by Anthony Cubbon
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. There was great weather when I filmed that and records broken in almost every class. In my opinion one of the greatest TT events we have witnessed
Astonishing wide shots gives the idea about intensity, handling and relative speed with the surrounding. It shows how much dangerous it is. These men not only risking their life on the edge for a mere some price, but the passion that drives them to do exciting things is something else. Insane men of the time. Great compilation.
thank you for your kind words sorry for the delay in replying I have been mad busy! i carefully choose my locations to film at and most of them are rarely if ever used for filming. i have more videos coming soon about these modern day warriors so watch this space! all the best from the isle of man
Excellent job on everything! The filming, editing, titling/commentary-- I fully appreciate the amount of work you have done single handed to bring this video together. I especially liked the way you identified the riders in a clip by following with a slow motion variant that provided names and race details. This alone must have added days to your edit. I applaud your work. Well done!
Thanks Eric sorry for the delay in me replying my health has been poor but I am recovering now thankfully and hope to film the whole of the TT this year. I have spent Many hours putting this video together but enjoyed every minute of it! I have seen your videos and they look great. Are you at the TT this year? would be nice to meet up for a chat. Regards from castletown isle Of man
@@anthonycubbon741 Good to hear from you! Sorry to hear health has been an issue and I wish you the best in your recovery. Unfortunately, I wont be over for TT this year but am already looking forward to 2020. Do you think you'll still be interested in doing TT videos then? I was thinking that it might be fun to edit together our individual efforts and hopefully produce a viral video or two. That would be one thing to maybe chat about.... If you want to email. mine is eric.zinter@hotmail.com but I have to warn you-- I'm often a slow responder!
Thanks - Yes hundreds of hours planning, filming and editing etc. but I enjoyed every minute of it! Am glad you enjoyed watching it too. I will be making another video along these lines for tt19 which is nearly upon us!
Thanks for posting this, as I or anyone else wont be going this year its brought back fantastic memory's from last year there , even though the weather was not as good as 2018, this has to be the BEST spectator video ive seen it really makes you feel like your there again, also this has shown me some new places to watch the TT from in the future thanks again for posting Paaaaaaaal.
Thanks I appreciate your comments, my idea was to make the best spectator style video I could and I am glad you feel the end product came out looking good! If you need any advice regarding getting to any of the location in the video let me know as some of the spots have little if any parking so can be tricky to get to
I really dig the way you freeze-frame on the rider for your comments. Makes it easier to digest, and it’s “a moment in time” sort of feel to the static picture of the rider. Remarkable the clarity you get with the freeze-frames with whatever camera you’re shooting with. Great vid-thanks!
Thanks, I really thought about the best way to convey information about the race and also capture images of the riders both in real time video and static images, I appreciate your comments all the best from castletown in the isle Of man
Thanks I’m really glad you liked it so much. I’m gradually getting more subscribers and interest in my videos. I do put a lot of time, effort and thought into how I do these videos. I have another TT video out in a week so keep and eye out for that🙂
Anthony great video. I appreciate all the work you put into it. For those of us who live in other parts of the globe this is a great way to experience the race. well done!!
thank you very much, I like to hear that people in many parts of the world are watching my videos! I have another video of Isle Of Man racing being uploaded to my channel next week so keep an eye out for that! regards Anthony
That you very much! I have another TT review coming out the end of March so maybe you will like that too. Have a good year following the racing. Cheers
Hope that Honda will soon come out of hibernation !I don't understand why they don't come back with a V4 ?If they continue in this direction, they won't win anymore. The current CBR Fireblade, as a constructive conception always too little competitive, iways aimed at everyone's riding. ;(
I really don't know what hutch and David Johnson will be capable of with those bikes and it also remains to be seem if hutchy is fit enough yet to be on race winning pace. I would say they are good bet for top 6 iin races but not potential winners. Then we have mcguiness on the Norton and Rutter on a motogp style bike and they are a bit of an unknown quantity too
really glad you enjoyed this! as you can probably tell I spent a lot of time and effort putting it together and it very encouraging to get such good feedback. thanks
Great footage yet again, the sounds of those machines resonating through the air bouncing off objects, just can't beat it, great audio👍 Hickman's bike sounds like a F1 and that V4 Norton sensational🎼 Great ending looking out over the Mountains 🏔👍
thanks. the norton V4 will be there again this year so you can hear it in person which is even better! Michael Rutter will be out on a moto gp Honda so that will be good too
Thank you very much for the footage and the patience needed to edit this - it beats many, many others' coverage hands down. Particular thanks for including coverage of the chairs (sidecars) - I went to the TT in 1985 and of one my abiding memories (apart from the 6" deep swell of piss, vomit and beer that sloshed around the deck all night on the ferry from Heysham) was the barking insanity of the sidecar races. I have all the respect going for the riders of solo bikes, but there will always be a special place for the chairs.
Thanks I appreciate your comments, sorry for the delay getting back up you I have been suffering from a flu! I always love to hear people's memories of the ttt, I also think it is important to cover the sidecars too as what those guys do iis astonishing the lap record for the chairs is now 119 mph! I will be filming the sidecars again this year so should be posting a video of this around end of June. Thanks again.
Thanks I hoping to do another video like this at this years TT. So watch this space. Sorry for the delay in replying I have been quite ill . Thanks again I appreciate your thoughtful words. Best wishes from castletown isle Of man
@@anthonycubbon741 What am I thinking about? May be would be good to put in the right up corner portrait of the racer when his name appears and he is shown racing? Such racers as McGunes, Dunlop, Guy Martin, Harrison and some others are well known, but not all. And if we can see them, would be nice to know & recognise them.
thanks. The tt is my favorite too and i will be doing a lot of coverage of this years tt, starting in 5 weeks to the day from now with the first practice session! enjoy TT19!
Nice! I couldn't justify the huge t.v. Dish bill anymore so don't have the Velocity channel anymore. Are you doing coverage for your personal channel here or for another provider?
Great video, helped understand the main players, even though I believe anyone doing this competitively has enormous balls.Ive done quite a few laps of tt myself on xbox, hahaha, but im completely hooked on the tt.The greatest race that exists. Thanks for this fantastic video.
anthony cubbon Hi Anthony, unfortunately I’ve never been to the island, but something that has been on my before you die list.Economic reasons and i had a major accident a few years ago and am still recovering from that.So for now I’ll have to rely on your wonderful videos. You really captured a spectators prospective with no stupid music. The subtitles are brilliant too explaining whos who and whats going on.I imagine you’re from the island.I live in Italy.
Thanks Tony - your video is a wonderful labour of love. I’m currently making a short guide to the circuit. Would it be possible to use a few short (3-6 second) clips from your video in it so viewers can see what the race looks like from the sides? I can offer you a sincere thank you, link to your video/channel and a pint. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Jim.
Thanks for your kind words, I watched some of your videos and was impressed with them and am going to subscribe, I have a blanket policy now of keeping my content exclusive to my channel but good luck with your future projects. Keep in touch
I am a American. But have up most admiration of this race. Over all cycle racing. Really do i have to explain. Hopefully it will never end. F T free will.
What I love abt all these dudes watching the racers Ready for action if anything might go wrong and the Overall discipline of the people No Dogs cars not even ants are out
It's great you enjoyed it, I'm actually uploading another video as I speak that is in the same style but about the classic TT so you may like that too!
Is that the norton at 3:12? It sounds like its ripping a hole in time! Sounds MENTAL!!! Edit: after a quick google search, I've verified it IS the norton, which Josh Brookes rode in the 2018 senior, so I was right. You cant mistake that V4 engine once you've heard it once. It's such an incredibly beautiful sounding engine, and theres nothing else quite like it. The Norton V4RR is a truly beautiful bike, despite the flaws, and I could listen to it all day long. The race turned version is quite indescribable. Absolutely unreal. In fact, I probably will do now I've heard this 🤣 Be safe guys. Peace.
Hey! Thanks so much for making this excellent video and sharing it, you know what you are doing obviously. It's brilliant! So sick of watching the usual rubbish amateurish ones all over RU-vid . Well done it's fantastic to see this. Thank you so very much. 🌌💕🌠🌅.
Thanks. Sorry for a delay in replying unfortunately I have been quite ill. To be honest I don't really know much about making videos but I am passionate about the TT and wanted to create something that would convey the speed, the sounds and also provide information about the event. I am looking forward to more video projects this year. Thanks again for taking the time to post your message
This is proof that aliens are amongst us. It is impossible for any human to go so fast around such a circuit. Therefore these riders must be a higher race of beings from a galaxy far far away. There ya go, I think my logic is infallible. I am totally addicted to the TT and Irish road racing.
Yes I hope for the best for Michael Dunlop too. The Norton has done well in recent years but I think they are using a new engine this year so it is a bit of an unknown quantity really. But I expect it to be a good package with mcguiness being involved
There is a mountain railway that goes up to the mountain section of the course. There are many other spectating areas, Glen Helen is one of the best which I would recommend
Hey, really nice video and has the potential to do well. I'd be tempted to change the title to something like 'Isle of Man TT 2018 - Highlights and Best Moments - Ultimate Compilation' just based on personal experience those titles do well. Feel free to ignore me and keep it as it is, is your video after all :)
I freaking hate trying to find the actual full races I can watch here in America. Who the hell wants to watch highlights. I looked all over the Internet to pay for a subscription follow Michael Dunlop and his races that he partakes of. It has been a pain in the ass. We can't even go to a website on the internet for example and watch live freaking races. The only full races that we can watch here In America that I've ever found is what is on RU-vid and that's it.
Umm, is it the best idea to set up your camera at the apex of hard turn they're hitting at 160+mph?? Someone loses it and your picking bike chain out of your skull!!
Being a spectator at the TT is not without risks but then again it is the thrill of being so close to the bikes that is what attracts people to watch road racing. I try to strike a balance by filming whilst having some kind of cover should things go wrong. But it is a calculated risk and accidents involving spectators are thankfully very rare at the TT and the most dangerous spots are prohibited to spectators anyway
