Great video! I cant wait to see the rest! This place is on our bucket list. We were talking about taking a dip in the lake until the leach made it's debut and then we both agreed we would stay hot😅😅

Great start to your trip! We did that loop (in the opposite direction) Sept 13-18 but did all backcountry camping. Used that privy on our way through and took a photo of a snowshoe hare right beside it. 🐰 Looking forward to your day 2!

@garygarfield1635

@@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife We were there last week of June and we did not need bug spray. Just a few bugs in late evening when we were turning in. We went same week 3 years ago and likewise had no issues. Must admit that bugs were my biggest concern prior to first going to ISRO, and has been no concern.

The excitement in your voice when you saw the moose tracks was awesome!!! The first part of the trail seemed pretty decent and were there any shelters at that campground? What month did you travel? Planning a trip there the 2nd week in August, just wondering about Mosquitos in mid August
@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife
@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife 2 года назад
This particular trip we went in Mid/Early July. I don’t recommend that time of year. We’ve also gone in late July/early august and that was much more enjoyable. Come prepared in case there was a wet spring, but you should be good in august.

@@HusbandWifeOutdoorLifeI'm going twice for the first time! Drop off at Malone Bay on 8-3, then on to South Desor Lake Campground, then Washington Creek Campground, then the Greenstone Ridge Trail to Rock Harbor. Back on Isle Royale later in late August into September for a Minong Ridge Trail from Washington Creek Campground to McCargoe Cove, and down to Moskey or Daisy Farm, and then Rock Harbor.

The new camera is a bit jittery and we would have liked to see some more scenery. Take advantage of the views and focus on showing the beauty of the trail.
@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife
@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife 2 года назад
Appreciate the insight. There’s a fine line between too much vlogging and too much scenery. We haven’t found the groove yet. Trust me there’s lots of beautiful scenery coming. Much of the trail on this trip was just green tunnel. But I could’ve done a better job. The camera gets better as we go on this trip. Most is operator error. I cut a lot of footage because of it. Hard to find the perfect camera for this.
@thejarrettsjourney

@@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife all good. What kind of cam are you using?
@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife
@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife 2 года назад
@@thejarrettsjourney cannon g7x was our standby for years but the autofocus broke and it made a audible clicking noise when recording that was not able to be removed in editing (not with my skill level). So we tried several options before landing on the cannon EOSm50 that worked great for filming a few camping cooking stuff and our duck videos. We took that along but we decided vlogging with that camera is not ideal (switching lenses, extra to carry, hard to see if your in focus on the view screen, larger, heavier..etc). Towards the end of the trip we started filming primarily with my phone for the vlogging and the cannon for some of the later moose footage you’ll see. It’s a great camera for wildlife filming but I think we are on the hunt for the perfect vlogging camera still. I wish the g7x lasted longer.
@thejarrettsjourney
@thejarrettsjourney 2 года назад
@@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife gotcha. We have an M50 which takes great pictures but your right, not the most ideal for outdoor vlogging. Maybe studio recording for that camera. I honestly suggest a gopro 9 (or 10) equipped with a media mod for the adventures. We made that switch and haven't looked back. I typically keep the lense in horizon lock linear for most vlogging and it works great. Check out some of our most recent videos and see what you think. There's been a few times where we had less than ideal audio but thats on me...not the camera.
@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife
@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife 2 года назад
@@thejarrettsjourney I’ve done the gopro route and honestly the experience was not great. Granted it wasn’t a 9 or 10 but I really don’t want to go back that route simply for audio limitations alone.

@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife
@HusbandWifeOutdoorLife 2 года назад
Haha yes!! We figured that out. The camera starts much more zoomed when turned on then our previous camera. I figured that out at least as we went. I didn’t intend for it to be that in my sweaty red face haha ! It’s very hard to tell when filming on a small view finder or screen how it’s actually going to look live. Hope you continue to watch despite it. Thanks for stopping by to comment.
