Tommy; u r PREACHING 2 THE CHOIR!!!!! I couldn't have said it better myself. Music's COLOR-BLIND (& always will b). Again; if R & B/Soul/Disco/Jazz/Funk is "Black" Music, then ROCK & ROLL/HEAVY METAL must b "White Music"? Oh, please; LIVING COLOR (w/Corey Glover, Vernon Reid, & Doug Wimbush) play ROCK MUSIC. There4; how's ROCK MUSIC based on 1's SKIN COLOR? REALLY? WTF?
It's obviously debatable on whom came first: George Clinton or the Isley Brothers as both acts started their careers in the late 1950s and have influenced scores of rap/hip hop acts to come.
@@meyerj75 Very true RE: The Isley Brothers vs. George Clinton deb8. BTW, Clinton's the same age as President Trump (74). However, The Isley Brothers' "Twist & Shout" charted in 1959 as did "Shout" (which Otis Day & The Knigjts covered in "Animal House"). Nvrthlss, chart success doesn't determine when 1's career started so SPOT-ON u r.
@@b.j.banditt2046 Whereas the Isley Brothers are the only group in music history to ever have at least one chart topper a decade for 6 decades (1950s,60s,70s,80s,90s,2000s) which is deemed one heck of an accomplishment.
@@meyerj75 U betcha; thanks again 4 the reminder (previously, IDK they charted in the 2000s). Damn; u DEFINITELY know ur shit thru & thru. The facts speak 4 themselves (& u just outdid urself; in a very good way, mind u).

DON'T GET ME WRONG TECHNICALLY IS GREAT BUT LEARN THAT OLD FASHION WAY TO. 🙏🏿😇✝️🤣💯
Wow that's what talent sounds like. Playing instruments, singing from your soul and delivering a well needed message that's prevalent today. When I was a little kid this was my favorite song the grown up played during their party.
This should be the song of this generation ! Fight the banksters, fight those who have continually oppressed the people, fight the new world order fight it. Let Freedom ring let freedom ring!!
@Charles Breen ~ Thank You! You SAID it Right!! We got to get our Team off these destructive Artificial Intelligence master-mind manipulation games of adrenaline-hype addiction tools of the d-evil ones!
@@aneesahfurqan8544 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Once we realize who the true enemy is and how he uses his power to set all peoples against each other then we can come together as the brothers and sisters that we truly are. Fight the good fight Aneesah and we will over come!
This is the Band that Michael Jackson would listen to when he was creating and perfecting those brilliant dance moves that he unleashed on the world. That should tell you a little bit about the relevance of The Isley Brothers!
Only a jurk would give it a thumbs down, this was and is the joint coming up as a teen I wore the 45 out and then I got the album back then the sound systems were not like what they have today use to blast it on my oldest brothers stero set
my mom at age 60 tried to register with the Armed Services, in protest to them requiring 18 year olds to do so. got arrested and everything! what a woman!
meyerj75 so true i commented similar thoughts on 'Go on the Way' you dont know how hard it its for me to stay within myself and just ride this groove.Have mercy!
I'm under 40 and I have to say I didn't miss out because my mama taught me better... now my kids know about groups like the Isleys, Maze, EWF because I'm teaching them better, too.
Always liked Marvin Isley's unique full bass style ... blended well with the earthy funky sound. This version in the beginning definitely caught the "hook" ... dem grunts with dat bass.
This song had a meaning, I have listened to these musicians for along time you can't help but love these gentlemen!! Had a powerful message just listen!!!
This is theme song of 2020! Fight the Bull Sh$&! Corona, senseless death, politics all of it we got to fight the power! Say something! Do Something! VOTE!!!
I must share with you that I came here because of Rush Limbaugh and his love for this track; you can't resist this tune. I don't have TV, by choice, so never saw the commercial you mention. That rolling bass is crazy and let's agree the lyrics are good and these guys deliver the funk.
Now this is what I am talking about, that,s what the isley,s was talking about. The United States was built Upon racism, The founding forefathers were racists, from The very 1st president George Washington On downGeorge Washington has slaves ever since he was a young boyBut they don't teach you that in history books
Music with a message! This song was so compelling even top 40 stations played it. Most used the edit without "bullshit" but still. Our staff at KROQ thought "Fuck that" and played it intact.
I was in college in the 70's. My SR year at the Univ of Pgh, I rented an apt with a classmate only to discover the day we moved in the ahole B4 us had left his dog there without food & water for 3 days. After we cleaned up all the dog crap and had the carpets cleaned, it took him another week to come get his dog. He'd been a DJ at a radio station and had milk crates in his storage unit full of promotional albums that he'd nicked from the station. He never came back to get them. Forever Gold was one of my first picks from the lot and listen to it all the time. For an old white boy from western PA, the Isley's are still the epitome of great lyrics, awesome funk and virtuoso musicianship.
WOW that beat is 🔥 I remember going to skating rinks and we would go round and round off this and then turn round hit the night clubs and partied all night wow this was way back when the good old days were just the good old days😊
One's greatest performance brilliantly voice and blessing favorite hits Ronald ilesy brother all their albums and CD country and speaking of the truth about historical society technology and machine massive destruction in futures trade today listen to the songs 1960-1970style and 1980-1990style 2000-2019styles The isley brothers thank you very much for every thing you do prayer and blessing day today keeping up with the respect yourself 😀😂😂😃😄😅😆
Cedric Edwards You're Right However what you're failing to understand is that White Folks feel the same way!! Ain't about Black and White But about Rich and Poor! We live in a Capitalist society and Racism is Alive and Well in this Society because the Elitists want to keep the races divided in order to keep their Capital. The White Man Is Not Your Enemy!! The 1% that hold 90% of the Capital is the Enemy of All people in this country!! Black People, White People and everybody in between!! Stop letting the Powers that be Win. United We Stand and Divided we Fall! Let's Unite!!
rashard zanders Oh so you're a Hater! You're part of the problem! It's people like you that keep hate and racial divisions alive to the applaud and amusement to the rich man. No you're Right! I don't know Totally about black issues But You don't know what it's like to be a poor white man either! I commented on this song because I Love it And it applies to us as well But you wouldn't know that cause you do nothing but wear narrow minded glasses. PLUS You definitely got me all wrong cause I ain't apologizing for shit. My Irish people have been enslaved by the British Elitists by over 800 years! Beheaded, Starved to Death, Beat, Robbed, Lynched, and Shot by the same Powers you Hate. But do I hate all British People? No I Don't cause I don't blame an entire race or ethnicity for what their Royalty bestowed upon My People!! You are nothing but a Puppet for The Rich Man with your thinking that serves Nothing but enable them to Keep their Power and Control over the masses! You Sir are part of the problem and to ignorant to realize it. You are no better than the KKK. Hope you wake up and not let your Hate blind you!!
rashard zanders You want a True Solution to the problem? Join The Human Race. Believe it or not, we are more alike than your hatred will ever lead you to believe!
i asked this man on the elevator what he was listening to he said fight the power.. i said bring the noise public enemy. .. he said no Isely Brothers. ...First time listening to this I like it 😍

I remember in the '70s when I was 8 years old I used to bump this 45 of my dad's part 1 and 2 on my Mickey mouse record player dancing around the house like James Brown 👈😎👍
Ladles and gentleman, the rock of ages, with the bro's Isley, give it up for Brother James Brown. James be in and out of time ,to let that magic flo....give it up........peoples! Some of us never forget........
So glad they used this in the movie THe Heat. Reminds me of Funkadelics "GD, get off your ass and jam", too, which frankly, I thought was also done by the Isleys. Great groups that need a resurgence!!
