Finally I'm an "ism" 🙂 Thank you. I think what inspires me is having a project of some kind. A day trip somewhere new or a day in the house. Good luck with your pictures.
Glad to hear that you seem to be okay! These were beautiful images Chris, thanks for taking us on a tour around your house. I love how you managed to capture the beauty in the mundane, like the fogged up bathroom mirror, or the blurred colours through the window curtains. Such poetic photos.
A lovely little film and philosophical ponderings on your quarantine, Chris. I’m glad you’re feeling well. There’s some beautiful shots in the collection. Thanks!
I agree with you - I've been at home shielding for months now and I've noticed the patterns of light inside the house so much more - the way the light hits a certain spot at a certain time, vertical blinds casting dark noir-ish shadows in the late afternoons. Almost as if the house is a living thing to photograph.
Thank you for this video! How did you like "Joel Meyerowitz: How I Make Photographs"? I've interested in seeing that one. I have his "Where I Find Myself" and it enjoyed it very much.
Thanks Brandon and thanks for the reminder to actually read the book. It was a Christmas present from my brother and I'm looking forward to it. I like Joel's pictures and outlook very much. He cares a lot about his art, but doesn't take himself too seriously.
Thank you Snapit :-) For portraits my favourite lens at the moment is the 35mm f1.4. For general street (or home) photography I prefer something wider. The 23 used to be my favourite, but I might choose the 18mm f2 now. Maybe 18 for outside, 23 for inside :-)
I am really looking forward to that. I'm hoping it's not too expensive. For out and about on the street I think the f2 would still be perfect, but the 1.4 might be nice for portraits and maybe weddings.
