Tim, you will never stop to amaze me with the quality of your videos, the consistency of the script and the no non-sense technique you teach... thank you!

I just subscribed. Whenever I heard your voice I knew it was going to be an excellent fly tying video. I’m in Texas and don’t fish for trout much, although Canyon dam tailrace is a trophy trout area. I’ll be going there soon. Usually after largemouth and perch. You are an absolute master of this craft and excellent instructor. Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge. Good fishing and God Bless 🎣

That warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you tie one on is called a buzz. 😅 Lovely fly.

Beautifully tied and filmed. The older patterns are so appealing because they are excellent abstractions of something g real. They at least have the semi;ance of being made of natural materials and they have stood the test of time. I just like their nature;l look to be honest. :-)

Was able to get out on the esopus opening day this year. Flipped a bunch of rocks and saw one of the iso nymphs swimming pretty fast. They’re definitely around in the waters even if not hatching and definitely work as a wet fly with how well they swim. Pretty cool seeing the in person imitation look so good tied.

I tye a similar fly that's a great all rounder for river trout. not nearly exquisitely tied and narrated as your video top marks

Hello, has the uk pattern "The Cruncher" come to your notice? It is a very successful still water and river pattern over here and very similar to your pattern. Thanks for another great pattern. Peter

This same basic tie works great as a honey bee, replace red and copper with Yellow dub under {black/or peakock herl}. When /if/ lucky enough to find bee's in water will take fish steady.

I find tying these above a jig style nymph to be pretty effective

Are those feathers from collins hackle farm any good in comparison to whiting?

i Know what it is with these old patterns. THEY WORK! lol. It blows the theroy that trout can learn and become "educated" right out of the water (pun intended)
