Hanan Ashrawi, veteran Palestinian activist and former member of the Palestine Liberation Organisation’s executive committee, says, “We are in the midst of a genocide” in Gaza.
“Israel is hellbent on taking it a notch up … having treated the Palestinians like herds of cattle where they shift them from one place to the other carrying out demographic engineering … now they are destroying the last refuge that they have,” she told Al Jazeera.
“Everybody knows that there are no limits to Israeli depravity, to Israeli blood thirst, to the use of massacres and carnage to achieve we don’t know what ends, because they don’t know what ends. They cannot destroy Hamas … so in a way it is a willful infliction of pain, death and destruction without any accountability,” Ashrawi said.
“The primary objective is to destroy not just the Palestinians of Gaza but all of Palestine,” she concluded.

because the hostages are not the main issue. Israel goverenment clearly doesn't care about them and the issue has been the occupation of Palestine for 75 years and the apartheid state as well as the genocide. And clearly the hostages don't matter for the only ones who can stop that : aka the colonizers committing this genocide who used the first opportunity to justify it despite being responsible for far more atrocities

I'm not sure if she doesn't know the meaning of the word genocide or chooses to ignore it - doesn't really matter. Hamas knew Israel would hit back hard and thousands of Palestinians would lose their lives but they didn't care. Not sure if they realised just how hard Netanyahu would go. You understand nothing about oppressed people who have lived in a concentration camp all these years. Look up Sobitor concentration camp, over 600 Jews broke out, most died but not before killing Nazis in their escape. Look at the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, almost all died. What Israel is doing on every level is cruel murder, a genocide. May karma come to them very soon, painfully so they realise once and for all why it is they who are suffering. Their souls died a long time ago.

It's interesting that when Israel hits back - and not a country in the world outside the crazies denies their right to do so - against genocide they are accused of it themselves. Israel has killed thousands of civilians targeting Hamas. Not their idea or intention but yes, it has happened. Hamas killed, raped and took innocent civilians hostage because that was exactly, precisely and to the letter what they planned to do. They knew there would be a backlash but misjudged its intensity. As always, the poor civilians of Gaza suffer.

Have you seen the footage of the IDF detaining a 5 year old Palestinian child in the West Bank? That was 10 years ago. Also more recent footage of the IDF detaining a child who looked to be about 3 years old in the West Bank. Happening for many years!
