The palestinian mentality, as they have declared in their PLO charter in 1964 was: "A militant violent struggle on the indivisible Palestinian region to remove the occupation of the Zionists". This is before the occupation of the West Bank or Gaza. The PLO, and the palestinians, have been calling the entire state of Israel "occupation" that needs to be violently removed. This explains everything they have done since the 1920's in an unorginized way, and since the 60's as an organization. For the Plaestinian majority, the struggle is to remove Israel entirely. So so far they didn't have the means nor the freedom to do so, but if Israel removes itself from the WB, what reason is there to believe it won't have the same fate as what happened when Israel removed itself from Gaza or Lebanon? Considering the middle of the WB is just a few miles from the heart of Israel, Let Aviv, Jerusalem, The main Airport etc, if the West Bank turns into Gaza, Israel is in a huge security problem everywhere in its territory. The Israelis will not allow such a ridiculously huge risk considering the Palestinian public (most of it. Not all) still desire the destruction of Israel.
