He may have been more hurt than we realised but also, what got him to that point? Sean presented him a mid range target Izzy would normally have absolutely decked quickly except Sean wasn't sufficiently deterred by his feinting approach, Izzy couldn't hit him clean or back up him up and he kept coming, crowding Izzy and putting him on the fence. I think that he panicked a bit and it got him caught with that 1-2. I think he mentally unravelled after that when he realised he'd been dropped badly in the first and that he had no idea how to get his back off the fence for the rest of the fight. Credit to Sean, one of the mid-fight tweets was that Sean defended his way to a win. What a totally unusual, counter intuitive and intriguing style. Maybe not the most entertaining and it's not going to work on everyone but clearly, it's valid.

Izzy thought this fight would be easy, his attitude in the first 30 seconds could confirm this. The moment Sean caught one of his leg kicks, I knew this ain't good. It was as if he couldn't connect with his energy, that focus like he had against Alex in the rematch wasn't there. It was like hitting point of diminishing returns after the Alex. I think Izzy mentioned something during the week about like when this guy couldn't firebend anymore after becoming friends with Aang.

Everyone saying izzy looked slow needs to give more credit to Sean, he trained his ass off for this fight and canceled out izzy with push kicks, good spacing and accurate striking. Full credit to Sean, love from NZ dude, peoples champ. And izzy should earn the rematch instead of it being handed to him, let Strickland cook and let DDP have his shot I say
