They're about the last ones... If I want to watch something edgy, instead of teenage vampires struggling with Daddy issues on Netflix, a comedy show is all that's left out there.
I agree with this a lot. It's not just Palestine protestors, same happened during BLM. Basically, bullies and abusers are given a "morally justified" reason to bully and abuse. They aren't doing it for the cause, they just get off on abusing someone, and are using Palestinians as a convenient scapegoat for their behavior. It's disgusting.
Media does an intentionally garbage job presenting protests. I had BLM protests going on regularly on my street, the protesters didn't even litter, that isn't what media is going to tell you. The college students are trying to get their schools to divest, its a simple concept blown out of context by media. There is a plot that has been exposed, you can make 50k going into a peaceful protest and acting like a jerk.
Absolutely correct... They always need someone to bully.. Typical narcissistic behavior.. And I know, I lived with one for 13years.. When this is over they will pick another group to victimise
And it’s so sad that they get away with it 😢 People don’t check whether someone‘s words match their actions. And so many of those „activists“ even get away with violent speech just because they conceal it as the moral high horse (which is also not compatible with equality).
Shahak, you are one of the best voices out there giving us humor that is compassionate, levelheaded, and most of all, absolutely hilarious, during such horrible times. We live in times of "cancel culture" where people's tactic against voices they don't like is to try and actively silence them (instead of providing any ACTUAL vounter argument.) Your humor actually helps me put some things into perspective while being able to laugh at the stupidity of the horror. Thank you fir everything, and keep doing what you do.
honestly it wasn't even the audience booing that annoyed me the most.. it was the other contestants acting like high school bullies towards her. each an every one of her is older than her, and yet she was the most mature of them all. first the irish witch crying about her being there, the girl from greece pretending to fall asleep when she spoke, mind you she's double eden's age, last year's winner saying she wont even give her the trophy if she won, and even this year's winner unable to be neutral which is what got their country the win in the first place, all helping making her feel even more unsafe than she already did. felt good watching her score higher than most of them especially bambie. while she came to this competition to sing, they joined it to be hateful, political and absolutely horrible. it was so ironic when some of them ended their performance with "love!!! love triumphs hate!!! no hate!!" while single handedly being the most hateful people ive ever seen. sorry about the rant but i had to say it somewhere.
Agree completely. Just one correction - the singer that pretended to be asleep is from Greece. The singer from Cyprus remained neutral (they way it should have been)
Eden placing exactly one higher than Bambie, especially with the jury vote, felt like an ending straight out of a a story book. It’s so satisfying when the innocent triumph over bullies, in any context.
That audience score bounce back later on was interesting and also kind of demonstrated that most people didn't seem to be interested in the protest vote / politics and rather more interested in the performance, otherwise they would have returned 0 in the end. Completely opposite. I'm no Eurovision buff but I get sucked into it every year just to see how the voting goes.
@@methatis3013 It's a view, I guess. Are you suggesting the score was that high because the predominately liberal audience support Israel in the current conflict? I'd be surprised to be honest judging by the huge stink made about Israel's participation, protests outside and whatnot. What message was the vote sending if it were only political?
@@PsychoSpringbok A lot of people voted out of support for Israel, people who usually don't follow Eurovision. Just listen to the song. It's not even top 10
And still not in the top 10 most streamed Eurovision songs 2024 😭😭😭 It was so obvious they paid votes by ppl who NEVER heard the song or even saw the show LMAO.
Yes, surprising. Apparently political votes, because the song is not popular. So either you vote pro-israel or you vote any of the other 25 countries. Even if all other countries were explicitly anti-israel, the pro voice would win 25:1. I wonder what would have happened if you could give negative votes.

This horrendous behavior dehumanizes the Jewish and Israeli people and does not help Palestinians. For some reason, people get angry when I point this out? Guess it wasn’t about the Palestinians to begin with. So messed up. We need to do better to support our fellow humans and that doesn’t happen by demonizing entire groups of people whether they’re Muslim, Jewish or whatever. Those people in the audience booing is simple racism. Targeting anyone based on their race or ethnicity...is...let's say it together....racism....good job.
exactly... why does no one call it what it is? if a french or an italian person were booed simply for being from france or italy, you'd call it racism... she doesnt even need to be jewish, its fucked up enough that they hate her for being from Israel
nice that you cant define racism but at least you have to comment shit haha since when is israel a race? or being a jew a race? please go back to school :D
They booed Martin Österdahl (Executive Supervisor of the European Broadcasting Union. EBU is the organising body of ESC). He's Swedish. Based on your logic, all these boos are Swedism!!!
@@Eva-mp7xg are you stupid? they didnt boo him *because* he is swedish... the fact you had to tell us he is swedish because this isn't obvious by the reason they were booing him just proves that. they booed eden percisely for that. for nothing but her ETHNICITY. and btw genius, the reason they booed him was becasue he let an Israeli contestant into the competition. so, yeah still racist. but still towards jews.
Eden Golan the big winner 💯ummmmm most of the points came from the audience it means she gave a perfect performance and the song is amazing.... Politics came in and the low score came from countries and corrupt judges!. This was not a singing competition but ego and hypocrisy that were obvious to the eye!! 🇮🇱🙏🏾♥️
let's not pretend that her being second place in televoting was not political.. the majority of people who voted for her did it bc they wanted to support israel.. not for the song. her song has barely any views and barely anyone listens to it on streaming platforms compared to the other songs from esc. the jury voting may have been political but the televoting was obviously political too.
@@niconii3663 err. Her song is the only one on iTunes US chart from eurovision this year, and it's #37 on the main chart, higher 20 spots then the one from Netherlands. And while it's lower on Spotify, it received over 1mil streams on Spotify in a day, which is 18% of the total streams it has. Also, the jury purposefully sabotaged it and gave it last spot before they even listened (they admitted on video) because of her country.
...and if you have a problem me doing that, I recommend you to go ahead and.... like , share, comment, and subscribe. And don't forget to hit the bell 😂😂😂
You are so right . I've been pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli government since the 1980's when I was a teenager here in New Zealand , however I've never supported threats of violence , it's never acceptable and is my main problem with successive Israeli governments , especially the current one which doesn't care about anyone , especially not Jews or their safety. Hamas's violence is inexcusable as is the IDF and the War cabinet . Further , I didn't like how that singer was treated , I disagree with her attitude , her initial behaviour when faced with protest or her politics however she has every right to have her opinion and not have her or her family threatened with harm by anyone . Same with you , just because you are Jewish doesn't mean you personally are to blame for what is happening in Gaza or the West Bank. There is real anti-semetic hate speech going on around the world and online and everyone needs to take a stand against all racist violent hate speech.
Thanks Shahak. Wittnessing all this bullying of Jewish people by muslims and left wing activists is unbearable. Thanks to our relativley strong western institutions and democracies not much more gruesome is happening. But I also disagree with you. There is no reason to boo someone just because the person comes from a particular country.
It's no secret the Eurovision has always attracted political votes and the banning of Russian artists confirms that the show's organisers are politically biased too. Bottom line letting Israil take part this year served to confirm that reality.
You tell them Shahak!!!! The other artists were bullying Eden as well, then say it was a toll on THEM?!?! how little gratitude they have for living in a war free country when Palestinians and Israelis are suffering
She did great and the televote gave the right answer and it was not just political, but she really deserved it. Who can perform in that manner under such circumstances is absolutely above average. Booing artists standing up for humanity is so poor. It was really a shame for Europe and Sweden. I remember a similar thing when Russian singer Gargarina was booed here in Vienna. You might say it was more justified, but it was not. Nobody is killed by a performing singer. We should be happy to be able to listen to singing if we don't know how to talk anymore.. Times became really rough. Unfortunately, the meanest and most violent are so loud these days and the rest often so silent and insecure.

See Russia and Belarus being banned for crossing rules earlier.
I don’t find anything wrong with what you said, but would you agree that it’s absolutely awful that Eurovision is including a country that is currently perpetuating a mass murder or innocents? (countries like Russia are being banned for it, why not Israel too?)Yes, i agree that threatening and using violence on a singer is never ok, but how do you feel about the protest themselves? I know you said you have nothing against them, but do you support them? I must say I’ve only watched a bit of your political comedy, and I don’t find anything wrong with what you say, but I believe that in a time where it’s the Palestinians who are facing starvation, forced displacement, and the killing of 35,000 of their people, it is imperative to avoid neutrality and voice support for those who need it most in this times of hardship

Waiting for good news this kinda jollyday Eden is a champ! It's sad that people who try to make others miserable achieved a place there They think that every Israeli is a painting to throw soup on for their chaotic dangerous protests Greetings to the winner, and may the next eurovision be a celebration of love
We can go on argue about how things should be and how we should react, idealy. Reality is that this could not not happen. When you bring the sufferings of israelis and palestinians into eurovision, this happens. And that is why israel never should have participated this year. This is a song contestant, not a political rally. The people there are artists, not politicians. Ebu was warned about this, and they chose to ignore. And so the contestants got involved in a conflict that no top diplomat nor us president have ever been able to solve. Ebu really did put their contestants in an lmpossible and threatening situation. Hope ebu has learned its lesson. But in an ideal world everyone is not biased and not emtionally involved in a conflict familiar to the majority of europe. A conflict inwhich divides europe politically and triggers deep emotions. I really miss a more pragmatic and realistic aproach to the whole thing.
At this point, I’d have also preferred Israel not participating at all. The competition is supposed to be non-political, but that just doesn’t seem possible.
True - whether one is with Israel or Palestine, the EBU put all sides at risk, as clearly Israel is a controversial pick. And so, same as with Russia, they should have just ban them (at least for the safety of everyone there).
@@Shahak-EN Okay, appreciate your standpoint. Now please could you do another video where you make jokes about those who think the booing in the ESC area was based on racism instead of a critique of EBU's decision not to exclude Israel despite loads of ESC fans asking for it since the beginning of the Eurovision season. See the boos for Martin Österdahl, also the big cheer when Ukraine took over the lead with the televote points, ensuring the next year's ESC wouldn't be hosted in Israel.
@@Shahak-EN what about a joke where the statements to the eurovision contestants, such as joost, bambie, nemo, slimane and eden, are put in the mouth of the political leaders of the conflict; hamas, Netanyahu, biden etc. Or, will it leave a bad taste in the mouth? What about a piece on the new un counsel consisting of merely eurovision contestants? Power politics will never be the same.
Why can’t people have mixed views about countries? I wonder of the Israel haters, how many actually hate the song and Eden?! Hating Israel is different than hating the song and artist. Like Israel is becoming a Eurovision favorite for me. Love Hurricane and Eden! Yet I don’t know what my views are, so if I gave it thought, I may be against Israel too- conflict wise. At least I don’t agree with the religions. And supporting either side- both Palestines and Israeli feel wrong. Neither should be silenced. In America, a college student wrote a speech supporting Palestine for graduation but was later rescinded the invitation to speak. While supporting Israel feels like a death sentence. It’s like a lose-lose situation. And I don’t think the protests are making a difference besides causing civil disobedience. Israel and Palestine seem to be getting no where.
Sure - it’s not that she knew what’s going to happen on stage - actions have done consequences and people are fed up with their governments and Israel’s behaviour - so yes this form of protest is legitime. Where the outrage about Israeli settlers protesting against aid into G@za, blocking and destroying food and medical supplies? What a double standard
As an Englishman, I support you 100% and your words are my words. Your humour is fantastic and I will get to see you live in Germany with my wife at some point soon. Thanks.
I'm sorry to have to say this, but it turns out that the Israeli song contest crew were doing a lot of bullying and harassing to a lot of the other singers and even reporters too! Like the women (the writer of the Israeli song) harassing Joost Klein from the Netherlands time and time again by filming him even though it was against the rules and against agreements made, until he finally had enough when they were making awful jokes about his dead parents he dedicated his song to, that he said something in return. Nothing more than that and making a gesture towards her camera, and her reaction was to then call the police on him, so he was even disqualified. It has come out that all the Israeli crew and commentator said horrendous things to and about other contestants, mostly (it is said) Ireland, Greece, Luxembourg, Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands. So don't act as if everyone was awful against poor little Israel, because Israel was more than awful towards many other contestants/countries too! But things being as they are, most people are too afraid to come out and say it.
Shahak, so sad to hear you've had to cancel shows. I fear you've had to in Germany although I hope that isn't the case. Stay strong. Your ancestors are proud. 🇩🇪💙
Everything is politicised these days. Don’t push Palestine on Eurovision. And tho the people voted for the Israeli candidate, it doesn’t mean people unanimously support Israel, it just means the Israeli candidate performed well.

Sorry but you are wrong. This so-called young girl wanted to share her pov with a song about October 7th. She started the campaign with her song and her statements. It's her decision and so she has to stay strong with all critics. And do you remind the 2022 ESC? I think the same people who protests against Israel were very popular while they supported the Ukraine and there protests were against Russia. It was a farce giving the victory to the Ukraine and propaganda campaign against russian singers and by the way, were are russian singers today? They were not allowed to sing there. It's doesn't matter what they are thinking. They are russians and nobody wants to hear what Russia has to report. Not the pro Palestine protesters brought politics to the ESC. It has been there least since 2022.
