He did the right thing. Making a decision like King Solomon did was wise, because the people need to see for themself that change is needed. However, the problem is, this is not about the judicial reform, this is about Netanyahu, the same as in America it is not about anything, it's about Trump, to many, they don't like him. I am a goim. I have been involved in politics with Jews here in the U.S. Whenever there are two or more Jews running for the same position, they all have a meeting, usually with a Rabbi that they all agree to. At their meeting, they are guided by the Rabbi to focus on what is in the best interests of all Jews and they decide on which candidate should run for the open position based on what is best for all Jews. There are no hard feeling or spite from those who agree to cede way for the better candidate. Usually, the candidates who drop out receive some type of reward such as a good job, etc. However, the best candidate for all Jews becomes the sole candidate. This has always seemed to be a great way to deal with important issues. I hope Israelis focus on what is best for all and not just the few.

The Jewish State has no formal written constitution, meaning the high court can strike down virtually any law passed by the parliament based on its own determination of whether the law is reasonable. If the court strikes down a law, the parliament, known as the Knesset, can’t override it. Conservatives like Netanyahu believe the court is made up of Left-wing elitists and they want the elected representatives in parliament to have more of a say in who sits on the bench.

And yes, since justices and judges appoint their replacements, the ideology of the courts is still far left, even though the nation has moved towards the center. But, this is also about equal opportunity for all, regardless of where your family spent the diaspora. There needs to be reform, so that there is a balance of power. It would be just as wrong for the right to have control, that the voters cannot remove, as it has been for the left to keep absolute power, despite what the voters vote for.
