The ceasefire on Oct 6 was with the Islamic Jihadi group, totally different group than Hamas. I know you think they all look the same, but Israel kinda never honors ceasefires and thats why they don't often work. There was a ceasefire in 2018 as well didn't stop Israel from massacring people who were literally just MARCHING. Yes there was like half a dozen guys throwing rocks at a stone wall, but Israel used snipers to slaughter hundreds and disfigure hundreds more including committing a documented war crime by intentionally shooting and killing a marked civilian medic.

So Gideon was never a Terrorist & he never killed anyone, he was a loving father who worked to support his family. This Editor must apologise to Gideons Family & Relatives because he had nothing to do with the suicide attack in Tel Aviv.

You can't always just retaliate at the drop of a hat at that level. First of all, it would be strategically stupid to do so, given that Israel would be ready and waiting for it. It may also be logistically difficult to move enough assets into place in such a short time. It takes months to move armies. They could send in another ineffective drone strike like they did last time, but that just made the world laugh at them. It might be YEARS before we see the retaliation. Remember, October 7th was retaliation for something, and whatever that something was it didn't just happen the week before. It took them months or perhaps years even just to plan and train for what they did.

I implore you to check various other wars and the casualties. It is worse in this case because Hamas dresses up and blends in with civilians. They have their bases of operation in schools and congregate in buildings with civilians in them. Of course civilian casualties will occur in a war, it is worse here because of the behaviour of the Hamas ‘military’.
