This man is literally a whole agent. And not of “The Spook Who Sat By The Door” variety.

Love the work you do in the name of real, substantive journalism, Prof. Hunter. And I’m actually glad you platform this man. He has been proven wrong on Ukraine. And his take here on Israel-Palestine is appalling, but not shocking. His opinions will age like milk and he will be remembered, vaguely, as a co-signer of ethnic cleansing/genocide.

Kudos to Karen for never letting bad actors come in and get away with telling blatant lies. This is journalism. Malcolm Nance specifically mentioned Saudis as being responsible for 9/11 but tried to justify Iraq. Karen shut that down real quick. Salute.

I’m just happy folks in here get to hear what I’ve been reading on Twitter for months. Nance is too far gone at this point. There comes a point where warmongering consumes you. He’s reached that point.

Karen Hunter must be recognized and applauded for the role she plays in elevating the conversation on so many issues relevant to black people - whether we all get the relevancy or not - by including so many voices as part of this conversation. With that being said I am so disappointed in Malcolm Nance. Not so much about his viewpoint on this conflict (which I don't agree with but not surprised by) but the fact that his spin about this conflict TO BLACK PEOPLE is filled with an appeal to pathos and authority that is downright insulting. Black people are not dumb and don't need other black people to treat us as if we were especially if our moral compasses are screaming that a thing we are seeing just isn't right.

Reading the comments makes me feel sane…Not all water is drinkable, some is too far gone in the poison pool and Mr Nance has not drank the cool aid but is the manufacturer of it at this point- with all due respect of his military experience. If we cannot start from a common point of Humanity, then yes Morals don’t factor into what we find acceptable and abhorrent if it interferes with said “political end goals”. May we fight hard To not become the monster we purport to oppose.

Is this guy’s argument that he speaks Arabic so he must be right?!! I’m not a historian nor a political analyst, but I can dismantle all of his talking points without even breaking a sweat.

Prof Karen, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get Prof. Norman Finkelstein on and his detailed research in this topic, his book "Gaza: An Inquest into its Martyrdom" is no joke and he's spent 40 years looking into this.

Sorry this conversation was so short. It ended with the idea that the bombardment of Gaza is the correct thing to do and we're all just over reacting to something that's not really as bad as it seems. I want to hear his solution to this particular situation.

Has anyone discredited themselves on this topic more than Malcom Nance? Where is his basic empathy and humanity instead of his blind pro-Israel propaganda-filled blood lust colored by his military service? One last thing. He does the classic liberal-minded thing by underestimating people's ability to research a topic and form their own conclusions in this internet age. Personally, I've spent many many hours listening to documentaries, and talks from both prominent Israeli and Palestinian historians and it's beyond clear that Israel is a settler colonial state, supported entirely by the West, that has mistreated the Palestinian people forever. A Hamas-controlled government in Gaza is what you get when a colonial apartheid state crushes all hope for a people.

Dr. Hunter, I implore all "independent" media outlets to bring on guests like Rabbi Shapiro, Meko Peled (Israeli General's son), and former Israeli soldier and now historian, IIan Pappe and his book, Ten Myths About Israel.

I respect Malcolm Nance and his military knowledge but I totally disagree with his seemingly full on acceptance of what Israel and IDF are currently doing in the Gaza strip. Where does humanity come into play. None of it justifies genocide and displacing millions of innocent people.

After hearing the full interview on Sirius Mr. Nance brought a very brutal but incisive read to the whole situation. His larger point regarding Russia and it's goals for our democracy sent a shiver down my whole spine. There are no heroes in this story only dying babies. I was left bereft of all hope. This episode reminds me of the interview with the Izrayli cabinet minister (don't remember which channel it was on) who argued that Israel had a right to exist because it was established by the United Nations. 30 seconds later, when the host stated that the UN itself said that Izrayl was committing war crimes in Gaza, replied, "I don't give a f**K what the UN says." Pure class. What Nance is arguing, essentially, is for the right of revenge, but to the extent that if you kill my sister, I have a right to come back and kill your entire family. I don't necessarily believe in the doctrine of an eye for an eye, but it does have a certain fairness to it. If we apply the eye-for-an-eye doctrine here, then it could be reasonably argued that Izrayl had a right to kill up to 1200 people. But even that is gross. So sad and interesting to see a brother making every effort to defend the people who would shoot his black ass at a traffic stop. :-/ On a side note: I presume it's just a bad coincidence, but it really annoys me that the majority of official faces making the case for Biden's support of a genocidal war are black: Kamala Harris (VP), Karine Jean-Pierre (press secretary), Linda Thomas-Greenfield and Robert A Wood (UN ambassadors), and Lloyd Austin (Sec of Defense). Biden has always rubbed me the wrong way, ever since he did Anita Hill dirty, all the way through to "You ain't black if you don't vote for me," and now this. The US position on Gaza is immoral and depraved. And when people ask why I care, when I'm not Palestinian: It's because I believe that Gaza is just a test run for future land grabs. I'm no historian but even i've read on the topic (it actually goes back to about 1917) and it is not complicated at all: Israel wants to maintain a settler colonial state with Palestinians living under Jim Crow laws. Being a Air Force Veteran and military brat I say this. My father was a Marine and I grew up on military bases worldwide from a child to adulthood I know the type. While I like some of what Malcolm is about I don't agree with his vibe here and other places in regards to Isreal v Hamas. Metaphorically speaking, I view Malcolm as a dog that has been trained to be sic'd on people. He is not a house or lap dog type companion and because of his life in the military and intelligence all his life he will never be. In his own words he joined the Ukraine war because "It was personal".

Karen Hunter, thank you for having such a lot of patience and an open mind. It is not easy to listen to someone with military intelligence, who seems cannot tolerate or consider human empathy. The Palestinian people in Gaza do not want to go to Egypt. I believe time will tell that the only goal of the Israelis is to “settle” Gaza.

This is a complicated issue and Mr. Nance has a very different perspective than most. Basically this is like when a big man beats up his little wife and then says in his defense, " she know how I get when she does that" "she was asking for it" and "it could be so much worse for her, I could kill her".

Then it was said that Hemas started the war, and Israel had to fight back. First, agree or not I always appreciate you bringing an assortment of guests to help educate us. Second, sorry for the length. Nance's addresses regularly inspire disgust within me. However... Malcolm Nance has been constructing these types of presentations for years. It is convenient how he framed this conversation. He immediately created a bifurcation. He gave the option that either 1) people have a shake and bake history or 2) they do not know any history, and that is only the two options. Now, he can show you why his experience is so much closer to the truth versus all the resources you can access. This is a tactic to usher into the fallacy of Bulverism. Nance is a proponent for the war machine. He has a confirmation bias that is obvious. I doubt he even sincerely considers that the USA often behaves like the proverbial toddler with a hammer. The nail is any country that stands in its way from enriching or expanding its empire. The "precipitating events" he did a horrible job of explaining. The books are: 1) Gaza In Crisis - Noam Chomsky and Ilan Pappe 2) Justice for Some - Noura Erakat 3) Hollow Land:Israel's Architecture of Occupation - Eyal Weizman And a bonus book 4) They Dare To Speak Out - Paul Findley Frankly, I was surprised Nance was fully opposed to the Iraq invasion. However, he sure talks around what is occurring on the ground in Gaza. Israeli authorities for years have committed a crime against humanity of apartheid in the West Bank. I am sure B'Tselem would agree. This was a precipitating event. He speaks about hostages..how about the 7200 prisoners being held by Israel according to the Palestinian Prisoners Society?! Among which are at least 250 children. Hey Nance...some of us care about liberation, stability, and not financing all of these inhumane and harsh tactics our country is happy to support. Geopolitics is messy. War is hell, but we have eyes, a brain, and we can read. Scott Ritter is far more honest than Nance. So, at least, so former military...can speak truth to power.
