Israeli army chief Herzi Halevi had claimed a day before the anniversary of October 7 that he had achieved victory over Hamas' military wing in Gaza, but his claim was dashed the next day as Hamas' military wing al- -Qasim and the Al-Quds Brigades together fired M90 rockets into Israel and even Tel Aviv. It has been a year since the war between Israel and Hamas started and 101 Israeli hostages are still in the custody of Hamas, the Hamas which Netanyahu had vowed to eliminate is still posing a strong challenge to the Israeli army in Gaza. And now due to the IDF's war with Hezbollah, the Israeli army's grip on Gaza has loosened, due to which Hamas is now carrying out more gruesome attacks.
इज़रायली सेना के प्रमुख हर्जी हलेवी ने 7 अक्टूबर की बरसी से एक दिन पहले ये दावा किया था कि उन्होंने हमास की सैन्य शाखा पर गाज़ा में जीत हांसिल कर ली है लेकिन उनके इस दावे की अगले दिन ही हवा निकल गयी क्योंकि हमास की सैन्य शाखा अल-कासिम और अल-क़ुद्स ब्रिगेड ने मिलकर इज़रायल के भीतर यहाँ तक कि तेल अवीव में M90 रॉकेटों की बरसात कर दी। इज़रायल और हमास के बीच युद्ध शुरू हुए एक साल का वक़्त हो चुका है और 101 इज़रायली बंधक अभी भी हमास के कब्ज़े में हैं, जिस हमास को ख़त्म करने के लिए नेतन्याहू ने कसम खाई थी वो गाज़ा में अभी भी इज़रायली सेना को तगड़ी चुनौती दे रहा है, और अब IDF की हिजबुल्लाह के साथ जंग के चलते कहीं न कहीं इज़रायली सेना की पकड़ गाज़ा में ढीली पड़ी है जिसके चलते हमास अब और ज्यादा भीषण हमले कर रहा है।
