The “bear hug” was fear and avoidance of facing facts and doing the right thing.

Their militants don’t use pagers, they communicate with optics. The pager carriers were more like civil workers eg police

Several good points, such as how externally imposed regime change often produces negative outcomes. However i wouldn't characterise the pager and walkie-talkie attacks as "targetted assassinations", when Hezb. Runs civil services and the relatively few people were killed , thousands maimed and mutilated and terrorised. He forgot to mention the many displaced people in Lebanon as well.

WHAT HAPPENED TO COMMANDMENT NO. 9?

So yes, the Hagana and Irgun engaged in explicit terrorism in 1940’s. And yes, the leveling of Gazan civilian apartment buildings is indiscriminate and disproportionate violence. And yes, the exploding pagers killed civilians and spread panic and terror. So yes, Israel is engaged in terrorism from beginning to end. Sure Dr. Knuppe and academics can write the definition to cover for Israel and US and say that “state powers do not conduct terrorism because terrorism by definition is actions by non-state revolutionary groups and therefore Israel cannot do terrorism” - this is a joke. The US and Israel are explicitly terrorist organizations that just whitewash it and call it “strategic and pre-emotive” strikes against the bad guys.

A lot of it depends on what we do or do not condone. If it’s an allied nation, or apart of the western sphere particularly with Israel it’s justified as self defense, and that the act of those resistance groups both in Gaza and the West Bank and in sovereign Lebanon acting in self defense is terrorism. Same case for international law, and don’t get me wrong I’m not defending Russia or justifying its invasion either, but from the western perspective this is a grotesque violation of international law and sovereignty and that the west has a moral duty to provide aid and relief to the Ukrainian people in their fight for their own freedom and sovereignty which might be true, but is also convenient because in that case it’s an adversary of the west who’s doing so. Ofc when Hezbollah fires at legitimate military targets occupying land that by international law belongs to Lebanon and that Israel is illegally occupying, its terrorism and an illegitimate act of self defense, and Israel has cassus belli to carpet bomb whole neighborhoods in Lebanon and launch an invasion on a sovereign country as a legitimate act of self defense by the western media and state apparatus. It’s openly absurd

Preston, am I mistaken or is it the case that you only interview people on this issue who are anti-Zionist? Where is the fairness in that? I knew this was going to be skewed when I heard the words “Zionist occupiers.” Sorry Preston, I’m outa here

lol did you not listen to Knuppe? He is not anti-Zionist. He’s an academic and was very careful with his words. He made many subtle statements to defend Israel’s actions and to not criticize them overtly. He said that Israel today is not engaging in terrorism. Which is just false. He said Hamas was disrupting the ceasefires and Israel is just responding to the increased offensives. He’s basically saying everyone in the region is making mistakes without blaming the US and Israel, who are the only ones profiting from all of this. However I did like his views on the subversive nature of the church movements.
