First of all we should not call it War it is a genocide. War happens between 2 armies not one army and one side arm less people

Why Israel won't accept "2 state solution" To understand this, you’re going to have to go out of your intellectual comfort zone to absorb and process information which essentially all Israelis know but which very few non-Israelis do. First of all, I should say that I myself believed in a two-state solution when I moved to Israel in 1995, but I have been dissuaded from this by observing what has been going on. Second, I should say until last year when I retired, I was teaching in a university department where more than half of the students are Palestinians, we talked about these things a lot, and I understand Palestinian people and Palestinian society very well. Third, it isn’t Netanyahu, it’s Israeli society in general. Especially since the October 7 massacre, essentially all Israelis agree about this, with the exception of a very small number of people who have lost touch with reality (I recently had a discussion with such a person, a colleague at my university, who told me that she has a different definition of reality from other Israelis, and that pretty much sums it up). And fourth, I realize that some Israelis believe for religious reasons that God gave all of the land of Israel to the Jews and they are against a Palestinian state for this reason. But these are a very small proportion of Israeli Jews-the national religious party has only 14 of 120 seats in the Kneset. The overwhelming majority of Israeli Jews are against a Palestinian state for NON-religious reasons. What are these reasons? It is clear that the Palestinians are against a Jewish state. They have always been against a Jewish state. They have rejected internationally sanctioned proposals to divide the territory, including the British proposal in 1937, the UN proposal in 1947, the US proposal in 2000, and the EU proposal in 2001. They have never made a public statement indicating that they will accept a Jewish state. That situation remains completely unchanged. HOWEVER, they have at times PRETENDED to be interested in peace, not because they are actually interested in peace but because this will put them into a better position to murder Jews. I realize that this sounds like a cynical interpretation, and I was reluctant to accept it for some time, but the evidence for this is clear, as I will explain. Arafat and Rabin signed the Oslo Accords in 1993, according to which the territory would be divided into two states, and for some time arrangements were made to do this, BUT when it came time to actually make the final agreement in 2000 and Israel said yes, Arafat said no. He ‘changed his mind’. If Arafat did not want to actually agree to peace, why did he he sign the Oslo Accords? You have to look at what actually happened. Before 1993, the Palestinians on the West Bank and in Gaza had no weapons to attack Jews with. They had no infrastructure to make bombs to murder Jews with. By the time they rejected the Accords in 2000, they did have these things, and they used them to launch a huge wave of terror attacks against Jews. Between 2000 and 2004, the Palestinians made 125 suicide attacks (bombings and shootings) against Jewish CIVILIAN targets, in restaurants and cafes, on buses, at bus steps, at Passover seders, birthday parties, etc. These attacks had no pretense of having a military purpose-they were intentionally aimed at civilians. Of these, 77 succeeded in killing Israelis, a total of 539 dead. This is in an area with about the same size and population of New Jersey. If an equivalent wave of terrorism hit the US, it would result in 23,595 deaths, with about 2 fatal attacks per day for more than 4 years. Of the fatal attacks, only 10 were on the West Bank or in Gaza-the wave of attacks was directed at Israelis in general, not settlers in particular. This was in addition to 24 suicide attacks between the 1993 signing of the accords and 1999, 18 of which killed Israelis for a total of 155 dead. So this was why Arafat signed the Oslo Accords. So that the Palestinians could murder Jews. And the plan succeeded. After Israeli withdrew from Gaza in 2005, Hamas continued to fire missiles at Israel, a total of more than 20,000 over the years, and suicide attacks against Jews inside the Green Line continued, though at an incomparably slower and less murderous rate. As a result of the missiles and suicide attacks, Israel responded by attempting to interdict weapons shipments to Gaza and preventing Gazans from working in Israel. But in 2019, Hamas began to adopt a new strategy of non-violence. They more or less stopped firing missiles at Israel. A relatively small number of missiles were fired, but they were attributed to Islamic Jihad, and Israel was able to deal with them without interference from Hamas. As a result, Israel loosened its security precautions in Gaza, in terms of both much less interdiction and also allowing large numbers of Gazan men to come into Israel with relatively lax security precautions. In general, Israelis came to assume that Hamas could be worked with peacefully. This satisfied the international community, who had long been pushing Israel to loosen up restriction Gaza. Then October 7 happened. More than 1,200 dead, the overwhelming majority civilians who were killed at a music festival or in their towns. No pretext of having military targets. Hamas’ good behavior for more than 4 years had lulled Israelis into a false sense of security. It had been a trick. And like the Oslo Accords, the trick had succeeded in enabling the Palestinians to murder large numbers of Israelis. So this is why there is more or less universal agreement among Israelis that it would be a mistake to allow the creation of a Palestinian state. We have already been fooled twice by the Palestinians’ pretending to have peaceful intentions. Not again. October 7 completely convinced pretty much all the Israelis who might previously accepted a Palestinian state that this would be really stupid. Everyone here knows that October 7 was the result of loosening up security on the Palestinians. Essentially no one has any illusion that if we are nicer to the Palestinians, they will be nicer to us. We have paid much too much of a price in blood for believing in this illusion before.
