Israel Strikes Lebanon Reportedly Targeting Hezbollah Chief Nasrallah
Israeli jets struck the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s Beirut, targeting Hezbollah's headquarters and weapons facilities on September 27. According to Lebanon's health ministry, the strike killed at least six and 91 others were wounded. Reports suggested that Israeli strikes targeted Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah. However, he is reportedly "fine". The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) claimed Hezbollah's missile unit commander Muhammad Ali Ismail and his deputy were killed with other senior officials during the strike. The attack marked Tel Aviv's fiercest strike since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war. The strikes came hours after Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s address at the UNGA, where he vowed to continue fighting. Israel launched another wave of strikes on eastern and southern Lebanon on the morning of September 28. The IDF announced strikes on the Beqaa and Tyre regions. Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed 700 people so far. According to the Israeli military, Hezbollah launched a rocket attack on Kibbutz Kabri, triggering air raid sirens.
