Israeli society is warped. I had glimpses into its mindset when I met a number of ex-serving soldiers whilst backpacking through S. America in my youth. The behaviour of Israeli soldiers and society in this war is of no surprise to me. They view everyone as beneath them, and Palestinians are at the bottom of that ladder.

Truer words never been spoken about the current Israeli Society. As if they are vampires, and no amount of bloodshed can quench their thirst.

I worked as a teacher at a Jewish school. I saw the same kids grow up and not really mix with anyone else at university, there was this bubble that starts young, Jewish primary that then continues into secondary and adulthood. The same can apply to other faith communities, however, across Israel and outside of Israel even in London, children are educated with one view of zionism. This is a deep rooted creation that has been going on for a life time. Many of those children now cannot see beyond a wall. They go on holidays to the homeland and it is the greatest place ever because like in North Korea, when you are taught to love someone or something from childhood your mind becomes conditioned. The suffering only 30 min away is irrelevant and to a lesser people who aren't human and who matter. I don't think many people raised in thaglt bubble would have been exposed to counter views and opposition to their normality at the level of which is happening now on social media. I think this awakening across the world in unorecedented. In addition, to this, it is a financially and politically successful community and that then influences the lobbying power in political decision making and as we can see there are a lot of the usual Tory suspects who are given money to support one side through many avenues. The war is profitable for many people in government.

Another observation i would lile to add, as a teacher in general, is im appalled at the "education" that so many of the political and corporate leaders have in our UK and global society. Ive seen enough of Eton College graduates like Cameron or Johnson. I've seen enough of the character traits of Prime Minister Sunak of Stanford University and Winchester college. I've seen enough of government in general across the world, and i'm seeing an education that teaches a love of money, greed, cheating and the workings of economics and or political strategy. What i am not seeing is an education in humanity or morality or ethics. There is no spiritual or compassionate education. It is all empty and devoid of anything truly fruitful for a limited life that could leave a positive print on this world. We will die and we only have x minutes to be here and make the decisions we do. Everything material is left behind. Higher education across the west has let the world and humanity down.

This is what I keep saying. Netenyahu is a scapegoat. This didn't start with him and it's not going to end with him being removed or whatever. This is ideological. All his potential replacements aren't opposed to maintaining the status quo. They only differ in how far they're willing to go. But they do not acknowledge the Palestinian right to exist or sovereignty. They aren't opposed to the illegal settlements and they sure as hell aren't opposed to bombing Palestinians till they're all dead or displaced off of Gaza.

This evening jolted us with another crime from the IDF. A Palestinian man being sniffed by stray dogs as he lay in his pool of blood. The Israelis had taken pot shots at him while he was trying to salvage a bag of food following an American airdrop. He tried to dodge the bullets of the IDF but aim from Israeli snipers got him. He was captured crawling to the food bag. When he managed to get on his feet they shot him again. His desperation for food must have been for his family to eat something. May be a child he knew was starving. May be an old relative or a nursing mother needed food. Most likely he too was hungry. We will never know for sure what was his desperation to risk everything. The full footage was captured and shown by Al Jazeera. The footage stopped when the hungry dogs approached. May be he was still alive while the scavenging dogs smelt his blood. None of the Western news outlet have shown the footage nor acknowledged it. The BBC or the Sky did not pick it up to ask a Western politician of this. Which country provided the guns used by the IDF; was it UK or USA; was it Germany, France or Canada …? May be the Western media was playing it’s public duty to keep the trauma out of public gaze. More likely the Western media is trying to peddle their narratives to give some level of respectability to anything genocidal against Muslims and Islam. In the past a prominent British media outlet had admitted that they had doctored footage as per their ‘policy’ by ‘sanitizing’ children crying so as not to give ‘one-sided sympathy’ to Bosnian Muslims being slaughters by Serbs in 1992 genocidal war. At the time their argument was that the ‘absence of footage’ of Serbs being slaughtered meant that they had to doctor the footage of Serbs bombing markets and mosques in Sarajevo so as the ‘balance’ the narrative. Clearly there is a collective media attempt to convince us that genocide of Muslims, be it Bosnia, Library, CAR, India, Myanmar or Israel is done as ‘mistakes in war’ as no pro-Western ally ever takes pot shots at defenceless & hungry men, women & children. So far the media have allowed the Israeli war machine to peddle the idea that Israel has no choice but to kill whole families of Muslims as ‘terrorist are hiding behind them.’ This has given them the impunity to bomb hospitals, homes, schools and even churches. The footage from Al Jazeera should lay to rest the world myth that the Western media is free. Yes it is clever & sophisticated, but is also proven to be conniving. Why else is it peddling a narrative in real time when Israelis have been oppressing the Palestinians for decades and are daily carrying out acts that are an affront to humanity being given any credibility? And of course, MPs like Suella Bavermen, who is also a Hindutva sympathiser, will keep insisting that there is no food crisis in Gaza and Israel is letting in the food trucks. Hers is even a more fake apparition to haunt the Muslims. And of course we have to believe everything the Media say if we want to be safe from their accusation of being pro-terrorist and antisemitic. May be the film footage, by definition of the Israelis, is also antisemite as it exposes them. But I feel that long before the hungry man fell on his food bag the collective conscience of Western institutions had long being gun down by words, accusations and labels. Democracy, humanity, international law have become hollow in their blood hands. The supply arms of murder and a narrative to back it up. To give credibility to the Western media and Western conscience is like keeping a dead corpse tied up on a high pedestal. May be until it begins to stink enough for ordinary Westerners to feel discomfort we will have to keep receiving the blows from murderous nations and movements set against Muslims and Islam.

I’m Palestinian American born in Kuwait every time I go to Israel I have a feeling that Israelis looks wrong in this land they don’t match the Arabic background and they are here temporarily.

Kudos for him for saying this. Unfortunately we all knew how that society felt about the war 5 months ago and still not surprised about their current views. A society where even children casually claim “All Arabs must die”, “I don’t care if an Arab baby does not live” (Abby Martin’s interview with Israeli citizens) what else can you expect from them regarding this war?

Max Blumenthal stated Israeli helicopters and tanks liquidated their own people on Oct 7, then blamed Hamas. It’s all true when you look at the evidence, when you hear the audio evidence of the Israeli helicopter pilot being told to liquidate everyone (so no hostages can be taken), and hospital footage of Israeli doctors yelling at an Israeli PM in a all black that they (Israeli government) killed and wounded on Oct 7, and that she should leave. It’s insane how much they’ve gotten away for so long.

I'm sorry but does this guy not know he is on camera?

From everything I have read and seen, the Israeli settler colonial project has warped Israeli society in a very unhealthy way. Of course, there are Jewish Israelis who are not like this (for example, this caller) but this dehumanisation and lack of any reasonable moral compass does seem pretty pervasive from everything I have seen. I’ve heard other commentators plausibly point out that this dehumanisation is even common amongst Jewish Israeli youth (an age group that one might expect to be more rebellious and questioning of the status quo). In short, the occupation has of course seriously affected the occupied, but it has (unsurprisingly) damaged the occupier. In the long run does the behaviour of the state of Israel make it safer for Jewish people (both inside and outside Israel) or less safe?
