The Tuna song is called "This Too Shall Pass", and it's written from the perspective of a guy comforting his friend after a breakup. That's why in the chorus he's listing things that have been forgotten with time, like a walkman, or Samantha Fox - and says that like them the memory will be gone soon. Tuna's lyrics are definitely his biggest strength, I think he's one of the best writers in Israeli music right now. It's a shame you couldn't understand, but I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway :)
This is exactly why this guy is shit. 0 background checks, 0 effort. Any dimwit canpick up a camera and "react" to stuff. We're all here cuz he targets us as an audience... Small country, low prices for advertising, and take it like suckers.
What I think of Israel? I hate you like I hate the Rich family that controll the world, I hate Garibaldi Cavour that for more have create Italy but they have give Italy a Rothschild, I hate the Economist because Is of Rothschild I hate this world without Freedom but where people think to be Freedom

@ManInTheWorld Our culture is more than that, yeah it's a lot of cultures mixed but there is other things about Israel culture, the people have a very specific vibe
Problem with Tuna is that it's kind of like Logic (the rapper), the songs are OK, but you have to listen to the words to truly appreciate them, so maybe translate the lyrics next time 😁
Im israeli... And hearing you fun and smile from our music gives me good vibes and for real, those song that i didnt like in past you makes me change my mind about them thank you my man❤🇮🇱
Every time I'm waching a video that have something to do about Israel there are a lot hate commants, saying its not Israel its palastin. Or free palastin. In THIS video how ever, I didn't see a single hate commants. which is amazing. Love you're videos ❤️
Yes "Shnei meshugaim" of Omer Adam's song is one of the biggest hits in Israel and he is one of our fav singers.. Thank u for listening and taking your time.. U should listen also to *Idan Raichel, Idan Amedi & Ishay Ribo* songs who write and compose their own songs also so beautifully (: Greeting from Israel 💙
Gam ze Yaavor meaning 'it will pass too' The song talks about cheering up a friend that is after a breakup. The table on the video clip contains a lot of nostalgic items every israeli knows, Tuna recall a lot of items, people and gimmics that was a thing in the past, but pass as well as the breakup. Thats actually a wonderful song and i appreciate you for chosing it.
The first song talks about peace and not wars Israel only wants peace and good if you watch the previous video about Israel's poems all there talk about peace and love want peace Arabs and Jews! God will make it happen
Actually, the first song by Tuna, you gotta know the lyrics to love it. Every song he have has meaning behind it.. He is mainly good because how good he write his music..
As an American who use to live in Isreal, I have some recommendations for some good Israeli songs 1-שבק ס - נופל וקם 2-הדג נחש - הכל יסתדר 3- הדג נחש - מה נעשה? 4- שוטי הנבואה - דקה בפרדס 5-שוטי הנבואה - אין אני 6- משינה- רכבת לילה לקהיר 7- תומר יוסף ובן הנדלר- עברתי רק כדי לראות 8-שוטי הנבואה - כל גלגל 9- שוטי הנבואה,מוקי, מוש בן ארי- (jah is one (live 10- Infected Mushroom - I Wish Or any of the follodwing songs by Infected Mushroom: "Now Is Gold, Send Me an Angel, Smashing the Opponent, Vicious Delicious, Becoming Insane" 11- הדג נחש - בסלון של סלומון 12- מוש בן ארי - ממריאים 13- משה פרץ -רציתי רק(its the only Mizrhit song I like) 14- סינרגיה - אשם 15- סינרגיה - צועקים על אהבה 16- שוטי הנבואה- תשירי לי פרח 17- שוטי הנבואה - ידיעה I had no idea how much "שוטי הבואה" I use to listen to until writing this list. Ther are more artists and songs but I cant remember them at the moment, but when I first got to Israel those were the songs I fell in love with first when I didnt really like Israeli music, these are also kinda old songs, but I listen to them till today.
The scene is tudo bom where a guy in a suit shows with a few policemen is actually the mayor. These guys got the mayor of tel aviv to show up in a music video! Much respect
about the first song : Gam ze ya'avor (It too shall pass) is a classic breakup song/rap. I actually love the video. if you look again you'll see it's filled with things that have come and gone (some are VERY Israeli, like right in the beginning on the left side you see a brown box, that's for the gas masks we had to use during "desert storm" , old bank notes no longer in circulation and a VHS tape with moisturizer and tissue next to it, anyone going through adolescence in the 90's will understand ) the chorus - as others have said, sorry to repeat - he's talking about things that have passed (just like her bad mood from the break up will) and he lists them "like techno (music), like Crocs, like film (for analog camera), like Lior Miller (famous Israeli actor from 90's). I think this is such a smart song and video. I know you don't have time for this but if you'd like I will go frame by frame with you on the video and break down. it's genius.
The Lack of Idan Raichal/The Idan Raichal Project (Bo'ee, I'm Telech, Mai Nahar) and the lack of Rotem Cohen (Ahava Zo Hapoenta, Be'emtza Hachayim, Mi Yatzil Otanu, Kimat Shehitragalti) astonishes me. Definitely worth looking them up.
I don't know how anyone didn't recommended you real musicians like Kaveret(The israeli "Beatles"), Gazoz, Idan Raichel, Ha Dorbanim, Hadag Nachash, Elai Botner, Beit haBubot, Daniel Salomon, Aviv geffen, HaYehudim, Arik Einstein and more.. Song recommendation of each one Kaveret - היא כל כך יפה Gazoz - היא לא תדע Idan Raichel - Mi'ma'amakim Ha Dorbanim - כל מה שרצית Hadag Nachash - Lazuz Elai Botner - עילי בוטנר ודן דנקר - מה שלא הספקתי לומר Beit haBubot - איפה היית Daniel Salomon & Dana Adini - Rabot Hadrahim Aviv Geffen - עונות HaYehudim - מחפש תשובה Arik Einstein - יש בי אהבה Danny Sanderson - Ze Hakol Bishvilech Berry Sakharof - Monsoon Eviatar Banai - תחרות כלבים Nissim Sarussi - אשליות Haburganim - Darkenu Shlomi shabat - תנו לגדול בשקט this is some of the pure real deal of the israeli music.. and it's just 1% of it. Anyways, You need to understand the lyrics to get the full depth of a song..
Some more awesome israeli artists: Idan Raichel- world music in its best, his melodies are amazing and he makes incredible use of different instruments and music styles. ishay ribo- a religious singer with an incredible voice and talent of connecting different people the blue pill band- soft rock, awesome lyrics.
the "guitar" in "as a stone" called oud, it comes from egypt and north africa in general, in israel we have bunch of different cultures mixed together so israel is very unique. and thank you so much for this amazing video! love from israel
The first song, of tunna is an amazing song, I think it deserves 10/10. I will start with the transition of the title, "gam za yaavor" - "this will also pass" it's actually a song about remembering that everything will pass and change. You feel sad, something really bad happened...it's alright, that feeling will pass and "time heals everything and if not everything, it heals most of it and the rest will also pass". But some of the lyrics in this song only Israelis will get, because it describes things in our culture, talk about our phrases and history... but I still strongly recommend reading the lyrics.
PLEASE, don't compare Omer adam to the Chainsmokers NEVER AGAIN! 😂 You shouldn't judge all the artists in the video based on one song. The best thing about Israeli music is Cultural Diversity. A lot of artists in Israel, especially those in the video, have a lot fo different songs that combines israeli ethnicity with different cultures from around the world. You should do a video when you reviewing a couple of songs by the same artist and give your opinion about their differences and what makes them similar.
Haha! Much better choices this time!:) good job:) glad you enjoyed! There is a very large Jewish South American population here in Israel. It has influenced the culture (specifically music) a lot.
You shold react to: 1. Tam ve lo nishlan by ilay botner - תם ולא נשלם - עילי בוטנר וילדי החוץ 2. Masa ( journey ) by eliad - מסע - אליעד 3. Hachi israeli ( the most israeli ) by hatikva 6 הכי ישראלי- התקווה 6 4. The sticker song by hadag nahash שירת הסטיקר - הדג נחש 5. Madbik oti lakir ( sticking me to the wall ) by ez מדביק אותי לקיר - איזי
you said "someone's heartbroken" just when he says "even Peres (a former Israeli president) had his heart broken" which was nice, "Gam Ze Ya'avor" means "this too shall pass" so...yeah
That Was awesome! The music here is something that defines you as an Israeli! I am currently a soldier in the IDF and most of the musicians in israel like to write about this particular time of their life (at 18 in Israel you must join the army, boys for almost 3 years and girls for 2), we have a special genre in israel which is something like ‘war songs’ and it’s mostly about loosing your friend, your sister, brother and son in the war that no one ever wanted. These songs are the soul of Israel. I’m the proudest I can possibly be in my state.🦋🇮🇱 You should really check that out! Here is a list of some- כאב של לוחמים- עידן עמדי The song writer fought with his friend in 2006 at the border of Israel and Lebanon, he watched his friends die on the field. This song is dedicated to them. לילה טוב שון- חנן בן ארי In the IDF there are many lonely soldiers. They come to israel to join the army and they leave their families in their countries. This song is about a lonely soldier from America. His name is Shon Carmeli and he died 5 years ago in tzuke eitan. When he died 20,000 people came to his funeral to support his friend and family who flew here when they heard. His story is well known in Israel. The dedication of our nation in his death was something that made me love Israel the most. מיליון כוכבים The song writer’s name is Amit Farkash and she sings to her brother Tom, who also died in 2006 in a plain crash during the war.
michal zohar former lone soldier here please stop calling us lonely 😂. It’s lone soldier. We make friends in israel so we aren’t lonely lol. Israelis always say lonely soldier instead of lone soldier and it cracks me up
The 1st song, "This too shall pass" is revisiting the path of his life, going back in time from the present, based on the torn GF photo then him and his the GF in bed, artifacts, old newspapers with historic titles like "Rabin-Arafat Meet", old CDs, old Videos, references to Walkman, etc...
great video! My recommended songs if you do a next part are: DJ Only & Talisman - ad hamidbar (to the desert) and Hadag Nahash - the sticker song (a song made from actual stickers that you can find in the streets in Israel) also it's pretty funny that in the first part you call Subliminal and Sarit Hadad "young people" considering they're both in their 40's
13:38 that's the mayor of tel aviv and i used to live on this exact street, its called bialik street and the building behind them used to be the town hall
Please do a part three and listen to these people: 1) itay Levi 2) eyal golan 3) Nathan goshen 4) Hanan Ben ari 5) Eliad- journey (or in Hebrew “masa”). They’re all so amazing!!
That Omer Adam song "Two Crazies" or however you wanna translate it, got so over-played here in Israel it's insane, came out during summer and then that was all you'd here wherever you go...
As an Israeli I love the fact that I learn to appreciate the music through reviews and meanwhile so many people are criticizing the same music... Anyway I really hope you plan to make a part 3 of reviewing Israeli music cuz I have some more suggestions. First one is an Israeli Metal band called Walkways. They're really great and I recommend the song Despair (For Heaven's Sake), but I also recommend all of their songs. Second one is Zohar Argov which to this day (since the early 80's) is considered to be the king of the genre. The song I recommend is Haperach Begani (or הפרח בגני if you need to copy). Third one is Harel Skaat. Amazing clean voice. The song is Mashehu Mimeni (or משהו ממני) Fourth one is Elai Botner and Yaldei Hachutz. The song is Tam Velo Nishlam (or תם ולא נשלם) Fifth one is Shiri Maimon, one HELL of a diva. The song is Ahava Ktana (or אהבה קטנה) Sixth one is Maya Bouskilla, another HELL of a diva. the song is Rak Al Tagid (or רק אל תגיד) Seventh one (and last one for now) is Eyal Golan. He's been around a long time now and helped define a lot of Israeli modern music. Honestly I don't have any particular recommendation because SO many of his songs have become hits almost immediately but if I had to choose one I'd choose Mi She Maamin (or מי שמאמין) because this song is 10 years old and is still played at weddings, Bar Mitzvas and literally every sport games hosted in Israel.
Hi Brian, great idea for RU-vid video series, and you serve it with a really good atmosphere. Your idea is similar to the food review videos, just the food goes to the stomach, and songs directly to the hart. Wish you the best, enjoyed your video, GOOD LUCK, huge love from ISRAEL!
Some recommendations for more Israeli stuff: Mercedes Band - Ha'Mercedes מרסדס בנד - המרסדס Hadag Nahash - Lo Frayerim הדג נחש - לא פראיירים Asaf Avidan - Her Lies Hatavlinim - Adif Vekedai התבלינים - עדיף וכדאי Banot Nehama - So Far Hayehudim - New York City Have fun! Great video, man.
One thing that's common to all these songs is that there is a strong fusion element of different kinds of music - Middle Eastern / Disco / Hip Hop / Rock / Singer-Songwriter / Classical
I live in Israel. Came across your videos, really enjoying and appreciating your enthusiasm and commentary. There's a pop song that has been super popular when it came out because it was a joint production by a number of top artists. It is called Shevet Achim vAchayot (Tribe of brothers and sisters)
Part 3 please! Here are some songs I like, you should try them! נדב גדג' - תנו לי דקה | Nadav Guedj רביד פלוטניק (נצ'י נצ') - כל הזמן הזה / Ravid Plotnik - all this time Love from Israel!!
First song is about a break up, it's called "this will also pass" Last song, static an Ben El - we all hate them with passion beside really young kids. Good video though, love it👍😊
I'm so glad someone is making videos about Israel. Especially the culture. Up until two years ago, there was little to nothing about a video about an Israeli, and then of course Gal Gadot arrived and changed the map completely but still remained empty. And thanks to Neta leading a wave of videos, something started to happen a bit. I like Sivan as a musician but I don't like everyone else. There are so many other talented Israelis that the world has to know sadly sound a lot less. In any case, always happy to have something about Israelis.
Love to see you, such a great positive vibe, kind of a guy I would sit and drink beer with, awesome! Also, you should know, the artists Static and Ben-el are cooperating with an awesome producer called Jordi in a lot of their songs and he’s playing the head officer in the video
As an Arab (syrian if you're curious) I don't know how I feel about this situation. believe me I don't have anything against Israel people . But at the same time I don't know why the word Israel triggers me in a way . Maybe it's because of the way I was taught to unaccept it, like till this day the majority of Arabs write the word "Israel" inside of two quotes meeting that we don't believe in it and that we don't accept it. Or maybe it's the way they came out , I have Palestinian friends and till this day there life are still affected by the situation that happened mentally and physically I don't know where I'm going with this comment ,I don't have any hard feelings . the music is great they're quite talented.
