well it's Katrina who engineered this whole track. she's not afraid to do things she doesn't really do professionally and I'm sure she knows she has a lot to learn and i think she's usung her covers as her training ground to be better...
Katrina used to growl a lot when she was still a young amateurist in singing competitions...but now she just uses it when necessary. it's just not her style but we knlw she has it in her arsenal, just like thr whistle register, she cam do it but she only uses it when she feels the need to.
Interesting i didn't know that and I appreciate her not growling and whistling all the time I think pure chest voice is the most exciting tool in a singers arsenal anyways
@@itschensplace true that. you use those styles only when the song or part calls for it because i know some artists who insert those a lot in songs and it's not cute. Katrina said she doesn't use whistle much because she doesn't wanna destroy her voice. it's just not her style. it's another artist's "signature" style.

This actually is a Beyonce version that I assume you already heard Beyonce singing it in spanish since you're a huge fan of her. Katrina strictly kept to that version but at the same time made it her own. As to the reverb, I didn't notice that...maybe I have a bit of a hearing problem or you have keen ears lol. Would you believe me if I told you that Katrina is one of the most underrated artists in the Philippines....this is the very reason why she took to the internet to where she became heard and be dubbed as an internet sensation. As to Spotify or other platforms, perhaps it is the lack of support from her country people as to why she's not that much all over places yet.
Is she still underrated in the Philippines? That's shocking... I knew beyonce had a Spanish version but this arrangement took it to another sonic place and katrina inserted some original runs into it really helps this whole thing shine! I have a problem with reverb cause I use to do that as well, let big vocals swim in verb but over the years I realize more and more how in the way and unnecessary it is so my ears are sensitive to it
