I finally beat Isshin without taking any damage! Took around 20 attempts after I first beat him to achieve this hitless run. This is a top 3 most satisfying boss fight I've ever done in a video game!
Nice! Would love to see you try it using demon bell or charmless (or both if you're up for it, especially charmless that forces you to perfect deflect each time).
I’ll have to look those up. I just beat the game and I feel like there’s more I need to look up and still a few things that I missed. Apparently people do this blindfolded too lol I’m not a hardcore master at the game, I just play for fun and happened to get lucky on this one :)
@@BrandonHatcher Just to ease your search, they're both ways you can increase the difficulty of a run. Charmless refers to kuro's charm and is only available on your second playthrough onwards, and demon bell is found in senpou temple, there's a path before you fight armored warrior that leads to it.
Just holding the block button down will charge up and break your poise when you get hit. If you deflect perfectly, your poise will never be broken no matter what, you just have to time it right.
Perfect is a pretty subjective word. It was a peaceful and collected way of beating Ishin, clean deflects 9 out of 10 times, only one attack after each counter. It reminds me of Obi-Wan form style Soresu which focuses mainly on defence, maintaining a methodic and calculated mind, which in fact does pay off because I noticed that enemies get more furious the more aggressive you are (i'm sure the cause of many deaths we went through was impatience). Yesterday I beat Ishin and it was slightly more chaotic and unpredictable because i would try to take advantage of any opening while here it seemed more ... polite XD. Congrats to you, Brandon! Your play imboded a way of perfection!
