King Sausage yeah.... that’s not true. this guy guy got issued actual oakleys, mechanix gloves, and TWO pairs of rocky boots. that’s wild i got none of that lol. i got shitty CIF gloves, didn’t get even the standard issue boots. this guy got all name brand stuff lol. that’s wild.
Being a member of the royal airforce firstly I would say it’s always a pleasure working with the us airforce at my current base RAF MILDENHALL which is primarily operated by the us airforce when I first arrived after basic training I was presently surprised and glad to see you guys bring a lot of home comforts especially baseball fields and American football fields and some fantastic additions that most of our bases seem to lacking including McDonald’s and Starbucks
I spent 18 months in your lovely country at RAF Upper Heyford 1992-1994. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and saw many things that I may never see again. Not to be insulting though, I did learn why we colonials held that little party for you blokes back in the late 1770s early 1780s.
James, myself being ex RAF, RATE 1's were always a wee treat when on exercise / deployment. £109 for Rate 1 in Paris, France. On the outskirts we were parked up in the wagons. Allegedly 😉😉🤐🤐😂🤣😅 RAF was always better away from camp. NOTHING LESS THAN 5* WILL BE SUFFICIENT 😉😉👍👍
For my strike team bag (EMS) I used vacuum sealed bags for underwear, socks, meds, toiletries, batteries,…. It did a great job of minimizing space and also keeps them water proof.
Glad you finally got a deployment. I would recommend packing some of the coyote shirts in your 72-hour bag just in case. I was also going to ask where you were deploying but then you showed them swimming trunks lol. Have fun man, let me know if you need anything.
When I watch these videos sometimes I scream at the what is going on because I don't understand it. You hit the nail on the head. 22 yr vet Security Police, and when we deployed we got 2 A-bags, rucksack which held ALL mission essential equipment and IF you had room left over you got to take personal items. Sorry to say it but Amm Sad Sack here is packing to go on a vacation, not on military mission.
I concur, look where he is living!!! What the fuck! What's wrong with a sea bag for deployment. That multi-cam is bad for woodland (Europe theater) and jungle (SE Asia)! U.S. Marine
8 years in the Air Force and you haven't wore a reflector belt since tech school? I worked nights majority of my time, even when I was on days I still had mine on; flight line work mindset I guess. I still have most everything I was issued from all of my deployments. My favorite was my leatherman's and Gerber knives. Great video good luck.
I'm on deployment later this year, cant wait for all that gear. I was in the Army Reserves but switched to ANG, best decision I ever made. Love the Air Force!
He is a wrench turner, he was issued a set of coveralls. He doesn't even need the camouflage uniforms. Four sets of the old OD fatigues are the only uniforms that he needs
I’ve moved well over a dozen times. Whether it’s rolled or folded flat, if you do it good...it’s basically the same shit. It all depends on what your putting it in, as to which method you should use. SF knowledge, I’ve seen it all.
From one British Veteran to Airman hope you are staying safe on deployment. Also wanted to say that Monster deployment bag is huge alot bigger than what us Brits got issued
I work at an airport, if you care about your glasses don’t pack them on the outside. Your bags will be thrown from conveyor belt to a tug cart, onto a belt loader, to the cargo hold, stacked under hundreds of pounds of other luggage and then back the other way for each plane you get on. And I really mean thrown, not always tossed. I’ve also seen bags fall 10+ feet off the top of the belt loader coming off planes.
Well u must not of talk to anyone from CE or SFS. So next time, for your 72 bag. 2 med, 1 sm space saver bags. In the 2 med bags should have 3 tan shirts, 3 boot socks, 3 breifs, 1 PT uni, 1 PT socks, 1 OCP hat. Now in regular zip lock bags , 1 pr tennies, 1pr shower shoes, and shower kit with meds. In the sm space saver bag put travel pillow in. Compress all the air out of all the bags. Then you can load up laptop and all chargers and accessories. Now for your wheeled bag, all clothes in space saver bags. You will see how much room you will have leftover. It's not like your a forward deployer where you have to have all your gear, clothes, and weapon's case. Good luck with the next deployment.
Im ex USAF from the 70's/80's watched this out of curiosity to see what they issued you .I about died when I seen the large bag and the backpack ,so jealous lol .whet I had was basically a duffle bag ,when I went on flight status basically I had 2 B-4 bags a helmet bag and a leather bag for carrying my assorted flight stuff.never had enough to carry all the crap on a deployment ,and nah not gonna say ooh we had it tougher then current zoomies I really glad you get issued stuff that makes sense.
Good Luck on your upcoming deployment, and be safe. You are kinda lucky, I did about 5 deployments in my career, with my 2nd to last being the longest, (just shy of 1 yr.). I had to purchase my own gear bags, besides for the ones I already owned. The only nice thing (repayment in a way as I look at for volunteering to deploy) was that the AF, at the time, was just starting the process of converting the service from wearing BDU's, and going to the new ABU's. So, I got issued for deployment 5 sets of ABU's, along with ABU Gortex, and a ABU field jacket,---all free to me. I was an officer, so I never had to purchase my ABU's for the conversion. (As officer's do not receive an annual (or change out) uniform allowance after their service entry initial issue). FYI, and for a laugh, I'm a shorter 'dude' myself, and I always bloused my BDU/ACU pants with blousing bands my entire military career up till the day I retired.
@@ugandaknuckles3419 Hey, I was USAF Security Police, and my last duty assignment was with the 741st MS at Minot AFB ND. I Ranger rolled all of my clothes going into the Missile field every week for the 2 years that I was there. Not everyone in the USAF is a wrench turner or 702 (clerk). Some actually know which end of the M-16 that the bullets come out of, and actually have the bullets too.
As a RAF member working at us base RAF Mildenhall the only downside to your new uniform is it’s now harder to see who’s British and who’s American but it does look a lot better
@@mr.k.i.s.s7496 remember, this the air Force. Deployment means only four flavors of ice cream and extra beach towels. Don't have to worry about pro gear.
Xx SCOUT xX thank you for your service from America! I’m joining the Air Force next year in hopes I can become a fighter pilot. What’s your job in the Iraqi military?
@ Shelton Poteat in the Air Force you can do a full 20 years and never really deploy. I know people who have done 20 and have only deployed 1 time. Your AFSC/MOS & the deployment band you are placed in plays a huge role on when/where you go. Some people can only deploy to CONUS bases ( not a real deployment if you ask me) because of medical issues. The Air Force deploys anywhere and everywhere the Army deploys.Yes, we get cush deployments but we also get the shitty ones too. My first 6 monther was to UAE and it was great. Then Afghanistan was my second and it was nothing close to the fun I had in UAE. Now I’m getting ready for my third and I’m hoping it’ll fall in between my first second deployment @ worst. I don’t know where this guy went but I’m assuming it’s somewhere like UAE since he brought dress shoes, pool shorts, and a Xbox.
hey man you still got 2 years before you can even sign up do a lot of research on each branch before you pick one talk to recruiters but they lie to get you in so also talk to people in that branch and maybe even the job you want to go into. if you got any questions about the air force I can get you some people to talk to because I live right next to lackland AFB. talk in some forms. stay safe when you join and keep at it.
He went for a pilot and didnt make it. And I have two freinds who worked their asses off for a pilot spot in the air force and are currently in training.
David Ratnayeke that’s my biggest fear and the biggest thing holding me back, I don’t want to sign a 4, 6, or 8 year contract and go through the long pilot selection process only to fail and be put somewhere else
I could have packed far much more stuff if I wanted to into that 3 day bag, and also the luggage. Learn how to pack 7 days supply into a 3 day bag after traveling so much
just curious, why did they issue you some baseball hats, that don’t seem to be part of the regular uniforms ? did you have to return some of the issued items after the deployment ?
Didn't get any of this crap. Not even a full set of ocps. Only one pair of boots had to buy my own bottoms. It depends on your unit you leave from and the tasking orders you get for the location you are going to also whether or not you have a competent udm.
This man got a whole luggage suitcase, baseball caps, and ROCKIES as deployment gear.... I joined the wrong fucking branch P.S learn to ranger roll your uniforms you’ll save on space when packing shit
Hey there, I’m currently in the DEP and leave 30 July. Very excited. Question, when you go on deployment and things are issued, does this come out of your pay or is it just given to you based on your deployment status. Best of luck and fly high!
Bro I really fucked up with National guard no active duty benefits but we still had a tight ass CSM this dudes getting ready to go to fucking Aruba LOL
WTF? You wait 8 years for a deployment and get bags and shit issued? I was Air Force as well, a computer nerd, and spent 3 years 6months and 1 day deployed on a 6yr enlistment... and the bag I was told to use was my duffle I was issued in BMT.
LOL, 3 day bag pretty basic standard bag and you wonder why the other branches think the Air Force is the most privileged branch...besides extra pay for "living conditions", having your barracks cleaned by someone else at least on Hickam AF base. Bucket cap?? Never heard boonie covers referred to as bucket caps, unless that is a AF thing. No one told you about ranger roll to save space in your 3 day bag?
Yes,asking you don’t bring it in your carry on bag ,so leave them with your rucksack or duffel bag (Assuming you’ll have a medium ruck or assault pack as a carry on)
