I’m running duel oil coolers in the front and didn’t have to remove the hood latch. It’s tight but with a little trimming it fits fine. It’s crazy how much it helps. Literally piping hot going in, still very hot out the first cooler, then cool to touch after leaving the second. I’m still getting some higher temps occasionally I think due to still running the stock thermostat. It’s basically only opening at high temps and not letting the coolers work until it’s already hot. That and a better rad helps. I’m using water wetter but my buddy swears by the VP coolant. It’s more pricey but I’ll be trying that next. Best of luck!
3.91 and leave it in 3rd the entire track also upgrade the trans mount bushings because thats gonna keep you locked out of 2nd with the drivetrain flex like you said. And its definitely time to change the plugs/clean the injectors too lol.
Another oil cooler is unnecessary. Z shaped bracket and mount thatboil cooler through the holes in the plastic cowling up there. Coolant temperature is what limp modes. I've been as high as 270F oil lol. That grinding into 2nd is the same with my car into third randomly. Mine has to do with the clutch failing. Probably what is going on with your car too. Just took it longer to start occuring. Failed pressure plate. Will eventually start to slip like mine.
Cooler the car the better imo, 270… that’s wild lol I’m hoping the water and water wetter will help keep in the cooling system temps lower. I don’t think it’s the clutch honestly, feels like the trans itself. Gonna try stiffer mounts
I also couldnt get in second from third in high rpm, when I had stock clutch pressure plate. Ive upgraded to Sachs performance pressure plate with ceramic clutch disc and that solve the issue. I think car should pressure plate hard enough...
I feel like these transmissions might have 2nd gear synchro issues. Mine does the same thing and i have solid mounts and upgraded shifter stuff. My shifts have been much smoother since I switched to that XClutch though. Also, that's why I like that 3.91. Tt never comes out of third in drift, other than to go to 4th haha.
I thought you are using 3.08 diff so now I have a question :D I just start build my E92 N54 stage 2 as a drift car, at this moment I am working on cooling, but next step is welded 3.46 diff. I don't have diff yet but issue is that 3.46 diff is shorter then 3.08. Do you know what car have a useful driveshaft to solve that ?
