The fact Adams had to make a speech when he just got to the jets shows the disfunction of the team and if some sense who has been there has made a speech apparently it didn't work so Adams speech ment nothing
What Chase and Acho are missing is that its already week 8. If I'm Davante, we ain't got time for me to sit on my hands until Week 10 and say "Hey, now that I've been here, here's what I'm seeing." If he's seeing stuff that he knows doesn't contribute to winning or a winning culture, he has to speak up immediately because if they don't fix it ASAP their season will be over.
FACTS. That was the whole point as to why he said something. If you wait knowing what you know and feel, but keep losing you are a part of the problem. If you speak up now, you help the team change going forward...Hopefully.
I didn't hear that with the Raiders or the Packers.. He's just feeling himself..He's not gonna be there next season.. Why did he leave Green Bay again? If he care about winning
The two good players share a perspective and the two scrubs share a perspective, it's not a coincidence. I'm a Mizzou fan, Chase is my boy but truth is truth.
I was thinking the same thing. Acho and chase never were expected to be leaders on their teams. They were just warm bodies on a roster. The real question is who else do they have in the roster to get up and speak? Sauce and Garrett have never had a winning season. Tyron Smith has been injured the last 4 years. Lazard is a #3 receiver at best.
@@alikassam5403Oh idk, maybe the 4 time MVP who’s been there for a season and a half already? I have no problem with Tae stepping up I’m just disappointed the guy that brought him in here apparently wasn’t saying anything or whatever he was saying wasn’t resonating
Has he been awful? No, he is top ten in yards and touchdowns. Has he been average? Yes. Just to note, Mahomes who people say is the best in the NFL is playing the same if not worse than Rodgers at this moment. But he is 5 and 0. Why? Consistency on defense and a running game. Chiefs have won despite of Mahomes’ average to poor play
Look here Acho and Chase, if no one is saying this stuff and being a leader in the locker room, then somebody has to do it!! DA has respect and fresh eyes, that’s usually the best kinda person to help start to initiate a culture change/vibe switch
Shady and James are right; Devante Adams has EARNED the respect of all NFL players, both former and present as well as fans ... he doesn't need to wait to speak up if he played in the game and they lost. To be honest, if he made a speech before his first game, the could have heavily impacted the entire team. He is a bonafied superstar. Now watch what happens next game.
He should wait until he has at least shown he can catch the passes that are thrown his way! He played average and was a non factor. People are more receptive when you show them what they should be before telling them.
Aaron RODGERS could have been there in the off season building with his team. He didn’t care about that, and now is pointing fingers. This will implode before the end of the season.
@HoosierTrucker See Aaron Rodgers tells on himself. He goes on pats show and tells everyone he does not participate in training camp because he doesn't need it. He may not need it to know the plays but to get your timing down and build cohesiveness between his receivers and himself he does. Aaron's time has passed its time for his selfishness to go.
@@universe-ie2mkno . It’s like someone from a sister company who’s ranked higher than you , has accomplished a ton in the industry and was hired to help the company succeed and turn things around has some advice , it’s probably in your best interest and the companies best interest that you listen to that person .
It dawned on me the other day. Acho is a combination of chicken little and the british flex seal guy. Either the sky is falling or this is the most important best thing ever. I think he does it to just be controversial and try to move the content along. But since it's insincere he literally can be anybody up there. He adds no real content to the show. I thought Joy with Shady and James and bringing in a fourth based on the topic was the best mix. Like when acho was on vacation the show was great.
Great back and forth in this discussion. I love it when the panel is split 2/2. Great segment to hear both sides. I feel like this is one of the best segments this year.
As a jets fan I completely agree. Nobody will say it. His play has been bad. When it counted. And attitude when things don't go right. Eye rolling and more which rubs off on the team.
How do you not listen to the Super Star? That’s why they traded for him. If he’s speaking in a respectful way, I don’t see a problem. He’s bringing his knowledge, skills, ability and experience that most of the other players don’t have. I’m listening so I can reach his level. If a billionaire gives you financial advice, you gonna listen? Of course you are because he’s where you wanna be.
Exactly. Only dummies want Davante to act like a rookie and not speak up yet. He's obviously there to help right the ship asap. That means speaking up as a leader and helping them get on the right track.
@@isiahnelsoniv who said anything about being dumb because you have a different opinion? It’s about being wise. He’s a great receiver, not perfect because nobody’s perfect but he’s done a lot of great work throughout his career and it wound wise for the guys on a losing team to at least hear him out. What is it gonna hurt other than some people’s pride to listen? People gotta stop being soft and sensitive.
This dude chase acts like he has ever been a starter or leader of team. Been a backup his entire career sounds like a clown. Does not know anything about what being a leader is.
Chase and Acho knew they had a horrible take and still chose to stand on it 😂😂😂 it’s WEEK 8 BRO. No time to be shy. If im a superstar and you just traded for me im going to make sure we have some urgency and energy.
U dont know what ur talking about. With a competent QB, he's an All Pro type player. He gets immediate respect as a leader anywhere he goes. He doesnt have to wait til there's too many losses to speak up as a leader. His time to speak up as a leader is now. He's there to help right the ship asap, not to act like a rookie, genius.
This is exactly why there is only 1 Super Bowl champ on the panel, and he got carried to those. Who gives a damn who speaks the truth as long as it’s said! These are the emotional issues with these players that hold them back. If Adams is calling out real issues who gives a damn how long he’s been there.
Man this is so true lol dude just got to the jets. Before the game you can see Adams talking to G Wilson and he's just nodding his head and I honestly think that Adams got in his head and which is why Wilson didn't play well.
Bruh giving a speech after a few days on the squad kinda crazy. Especially he just came from a losing team. But the all-pros say differently so what do I know
You see how the two starters/super stars of teams don’t have an issue with another superstar talking to the team that’s playing with no effort.. but the two back ups have an issue with it.
4:29 He left Green Bay because he wasn't sure if Aaron Rodgers was going to stay or not also because Derrick Carr, his best fri and college qb, was on the Raiders. He was going to get the bag regardless on if he stayed or not so the money wasn't the issue
I agree with Chase. Whys it gotta be Devante that has to be the one speaking up? It needs to be the leader, the QB. Wheres Rogers? He go to Egypt again? He's M.I.A right now?
But why not Devante? We already know Roger’s isn’t a great leader. So you’d rather follow the guy that’s leading you into the dumpster fire just because he’s the QB? As a leader (inherently) if you see something you say something. Especially if it’s to help the collective. Why sit idly by and watch failure?
It's been said throughout history when EF HUTTON talks, you listen. So what are you going to say he's not Bill Gates, He's not Elon Musk, he's not JD Rockefeller... Throughout history we don't really know EF HUTTON. But what I have heard is that when he talks everyone who's somebody is listening.
As a Pats fan.. keep Slater out of this SHADY... he at least knows what its like to play in superbowls and playoffs. Slater was the heart and soul of that team at moments.
Adams has the right to speak. Also, a new person comes in with new ideas, perspective, experience, etc. Leaders, locker room unity, team development happens diffrent for each team. Everyone should have a time to speak and team leaders decide changes.
@@theejayzeeableshe was only there for the eye candy . I prefer her over Molly , or Kimberly on first take and get up . But that’s only because of the eye candy . When Kimberly talks on get up or whatever , first take , I fast forward her.
Nah I liked Joy. She gave a fan perspective but with more information because she was an athlete and her brother was a top player and now a coach. Her looks also softened the show. Too much testosterone is not good on a talk show IMO.
Let's keep it real, the best locker room guys are offensive lineman. The real glue to the team. They dont play for stats associated with yards and all that. If Trent Williams gets traded and speaks up first day who gone say sumthin?
The problem with Davante speaking after being there less than a week is because it's impossible for him to have the pulse of the team. He just got there so he's got to learn a new playbook, position coach, head coach, get settled in at his new home. That's not to say you can't see some things are clearly wrong but the last two weeks have been tumultuous. They trade for Adams himself, the head coach is fired and the OC demoted so major changes are happening and it's difficult for the new guy who has is own stuff to worry about to make these team assessments. Plus whatever Adams said shouldn't Rodgers have said it? At this point asking that of Rodgers is damn near a rhetorical question. Couldn't Sauce Gardner, CJ Mosley, the new head coach or anybody else whose been there longer than a cup of coffee made the same team speech?
So according to Chase and Acho it's okay for a special teams star to come in & speak after only 5 days, but it's not okay for a legit multi-year record breaking WR to say something? 🥴🤣
No he isn't saying after 5 days he just busted JJ on his hypocrisy on WHO can talk. JJ was saying Devante can but not a Special teams player So Acho called him out and was like what if it was this guy who won 3 rings and JJ said no. Because he don't respect them. He called JJ out
I think they are both right, but i will say this. If both Acho and chase both said that DA speaking out was really not the move then i feel like a lot of the other role players feel fhe same way. You got more role players on yhe team than stars.
This is really being missed by alot folks here. Those ‘role players’ make up 85% of your roster and you’d think SHOULD be the target of Adams’ ‘motivation’ speech. If they ain’t feeling it, and unless u plan on replacing all of them before falling out the playoff race, then the whole ploy was pointless.
@@williambreeze2659 I don’t have a problem with Adam’s. I should have clarified myself. I have a problem with Shady and JJ saying that he’s entitled to speak because of his status in the league and Teams players for example aren’t. Every man there earned the right to speak
@@scottcooper444 I feel like he is supposed to be there to be a veteran presence in the locker room and team meetings and stuff. I mean he's headed for the hall of fame no doubt so if we really think about it it would be weirder if he didnt stand up and give a speech.
wow love that intro... FACTS. Players who turn into great commentators are legendary..... You can't start ur podcast in the middle of ur career like Micah... and this coming from a Cowboy fan. Bout time to stop rooting for them if they just gonna be a bunch of social media icons. From last year to this year Dallas has DECLINED. Was on the right path until this offseason.
News Flash Chase..If Khalil Mack didn’t earn the respect before he got to Chicago he earned it on the field that day when he balled out with the stats you just read off. “This isn’t daycare!” - Tom Brady
Yeah it’s levels. Khalil Mack was an all pro at two different positions before he went to Chicago; if anybody has the right to speak it would’ve been him. And them other cats woulda had to fall in line.
This is interesting based on where you are on the depth chart. The starters have a sense of, of course we can speak, the back up guys having the, have you earned my respect stance, shows more about how the locker room functions than we usually get
Disagree. A good leader is a good leader. Shouldn't matter if it's the QB or the special teams captain. If your first inclination is to ignore them simply because of their percieved rank, then one is not being a professional.
Acho and Chase are right. But, the way JJ put it, with humility is why its good DA spoke. He wasnt coming in with no hype or respect me nonsense, he spoke with humility. Can respect both sides.
It’s almost like Acho played in the NFL just be able to get a job after where he can talk constantly. Seems like he REALLY enjoys hearing himself speak.
Chase is right, there is a disconnect. Between the mentality of career backups and super bowl winning stars. 2 guys know what it takes to succeed at the highest level. 2 guys were just good enough to be there
Two career Backups talking about their Feelings... two starters talking about respect and winning. What is more important? This conversation was absolutely ridiculous.
Why are so many upset that players that were on the reserve team, or a backup QB talk about how they see things with players that were on the field every game or played some but watched their team win a ring from the sidelines. Isn’t that the point, different perspectives dependant on where you played, what position, starter or reserve, what kind of HC’s you’ve had, what type of organizations you’ve played for. That is what makes it interesting and more nuanced.
