Starting our journey right outside the iconic Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world, we navigate through its historic alleys filled with vibrant shops and bustling activity. Despite the summer rain, the bazaar's charm remains unparalleled.
As we leave the bazaar's vicinity, we stroll through the historic streets of the Fatih district, heading towards Sultanahmet Square. This area is the heart of Istanbul's Old City, surrounded by some of the city's most famous landmarks.
At Sultanahmet Square, we explore the magnificent Hagia Sophia Mosque, an architectural marvel with a rich history. Originally built as a cathedral in 537 AD, it later became a mosque, then a museum, and now serves again as a mosque. Its grand dome, intricate mosaics, and stunning interior make it a must-visit site in Istanbul.
Adjacent to the Hagia Sophia is the Sultanahmet Park, a beautiful green space that offers a peaceful respite from the city's hustle and bustle. The park is adorned with fountains, flower beds, and benches, providing perfect spots to relax and take in the views of the surrounding historic sites.
Nearby, we also visit the impressive Obelisks of Theodosius and Constantine, ancient monuments that stand as a testament to Istanbul's long and diverse history.

In 1453, after the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople, it was converted into a mosque by Sultan Mehmed II. The Hagia Sophia remains a symbol of Byzantine and Ottoman architectural grandeur and continues to attract millions of visitors each year.
