Hello my fellow travel lovers, we spent a week in Türkiye in June and of course I captured some footage to take you with us! First, we stayed for the weekend in Istanbul, and then we flew to Bodrum for some vitamin sea which will follow as a separate video as part II. For both of us, it was the first time in Türkiye and we absolutely loved it! 🇹🇷
Come with us to discover the lively little streets of Sultanahmet, the historic old town of Istanbul, with its beautiful mosques such as Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, and ancient bazaars offering everything from spices to gold and jewelry. I also tried to capture some insights into the world of fake products which is on another level in Istanbul. Not sure what I should think about, would love to know your opinion!
As a contrast, follow us to the modern Galataport and up the hills to Istanbul’s most upscale neighbourhood, Nişantaşı in the Şişli district where you find all the luxury boutiques, from Chanel and Louis Vuitton to Hermès, Prada, Gucci and more.
Of course, we also did a bit of sightseeing and stopped by Dolmabahçe Palace and Ortaköy, the famous mosque by the water.
we also indulged into the taste of Istanbul, from traditional çay (Turkish tea), and delicious pistachio rose cake at Selamlique, Lahmacun (Turkish “pizza”) and fish wraps (Balık ekmek), to a beautiful dinner at Olden 1772.
My personal highlights were the Bosphorus cruise and the sunset drinks at the Mikla rooftop bar with the most stunning 360° views over the entire city, magical!
