Turkey is known for the good quality textiles👍🏽in my country Turkish cotton jersey is one of the most popular choices for hobby sewing. Not exactly cheap, but usually considered worth the price.

Thank you for this video :) As an Istanbul resident, I may say that you mostly visited Osmaniye - great place to buy clothes but I also like to give some other places where you might see more fabric selection and also more crafty supplies (like patches, yarns, sewing supplies, beads, jewelry supplies) is Marputcular Carsisi and the other shops around this area called Tahtakale. You may use Mahmutpasa gate to leave Grand bazzar to reach this area - and it is downhill this way :) The shops are closed on Sundays and extremely crowded on Saturdays.

@@semharamha Hi, Tahtakale might be great place for lace and beaded fabrics because this area where bride to-bes shopping area. They buy their wedding supplies from here. (and very economical) You may go to Grand bazaar and leave the Grand bazaar from Mahputpasa gate. (Grand bazaar is huge! be careful and ask for the gate, don't worry, people love to help here, but in case, ask couple of people to be sure :)) You may use your navigation too... And Osmaniye is also great place to buy fabrics too. You may visit both but you need each day for both places... these shopping areas are huge... lots of shops there... Have a great trip :)

Wow, I thought Dubai had some incredible shops but I agree the selection in Istanbul was better. The embroidered cottons and laces! Gorgeous! I could have bought that entire rack of the orange ones, or maybe a green or yellow as well as the orange? I think the white with metallic is called a clip-dot. I'm wearing a me-made caftan as I watch this. It's a cotton voile in a pink print which might be slightly loud for a dress but always makes me happy at home. I used Liesl Gibson's class on creativebug to make it and wrote down the method (no pattern needed just a neck facing and drawstring channel) so I can make another sometime. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'd love to go to Turkey, buy fabric, and stay in a riad someday.
