Feelings so refreshing to see this and the T34 diorama. Just struck me, you can't have too many Berlin dioramas and it reminds me of the old one from Dough's diorama Berlin Safari(?) With animals escaping Berlin Zoo.

The monument is a grate idea. Nice scene. Just a tip. Try to make the terrain over the frame. In this case your frame is viseble from top view. If you make the terrain over the frame you trick the eyes into thinking that the scene goes on and on. In your case it ends there...

Amazing work beautiful! I love how the tank Commander is having the stare down with the statue! Love how you did the base/column for the statue too along with everything else. Love the tank itself and the diorama setting..Wonderful!

Another informative video Rick! So the white foam is just foam core with the paper removed? I'm looking for something to use for sidewalk on a base and that looks very doable.

Sorry for being a debbue downer. You got everything beat up or destroyed but you have a statue on a pedestal without a scratch. Maybe a little rubble near the feet and a pock mark or 2 9n the pedestal. If not? Still looks great.

Oh Will!!!! You rain on my parade!! LOL. Yea, I probably missed quite a few details. On the other hand...think of it this way....with all that went on around him, Frederick came through it all unscathed, a premonition of the resurgence of a united Germany. Or...something like that? Take care.

Very good and informative. Have you ever tried to do a vietnam scene in a jungle? I'd like to see how you might approach that.

Question for you on the foam board - how do you get the paper off the board? I picked up some foam core at Hobby Lobby and every time I try to peel off the paper it just tears and I leave LOTS of ripped paper still on the foam.

I guess that I've been lucky? I just buy the foam board at the local Dollar store, cheap price, and probably cheap glue holding on the paper?

hey rick great diorama as usual, what airbrush were you using, do you like it?

Hi Simon, I hope that you are doing well. The airbrush is the Iwata HP-C Plus. Let me first preface my answer by saying that I am VERY HARD on my brushes...I must have half a dozen of them in some sort of death spiral (but usually my fault). In terms of this brush, I've been using it as my primary for about 2 years, without much problem at all. I just need to keep in clean!!!! My compressor, however, died during this final episode (also an Iwata) and so I'm breaking in a new one.

Building a vignette is the last hurdle in scalemodelling which is so hard to overcome!

If you were to do your first Diorama, would snow or regular weather be best? It would be a small single-vehicle setup. Maybe three figures and half a barn, maybe one tree. Thanks for your feedback! Your work is fantastic !!

If it is your first dio, I would try to keep it as simple as possible and as few elements as possible. Work first for a good layout, reduce extra unnecessary space and such, and then focus and give attention to each element that you add to the scene. I wouldn't attempt snow. Snow is one of the trickier elements to get right...so go with fair weather. Over time you can begin to integrate moisture, mud and eventually snow and ice. Hope this helps a bit. Rick
