I went hardboard over inflatable due to my personal view that hardboards are easier to repair than inflatables. And as such, hardboards have a longer lifespan. Inflatables you have to track down where the damage is and hope your repair will survive the PSI. Where as hardboards are simply keeping foam in without the pressure of air pushing back on your repair.

I have a gili Meno carbon fiber and a hydrus paradise X, also a carbon fiber board. They are doing awesome. The hydrus comes with a lifetime warranty 😮 so not worried. The convenience of an inflatable is where it’s at. Especially if you travel!

But not all the truth... Inflating and deflating an isup give it a stress everytime and so a friend experienced the final breakage of its famous branded sup. I own a rigid (wind) sup since many years and with some care I've seen only some side paint scratches, and a bit of fading in colors, but the board is still amazing.

I don't understand this video even though it is cute. An iSUP is easier to take places, if you'd rather not hoist a board on top of your vehicle and strap it securely, then unstrap, then repeat when you return after paddling. Yes you have to inflate the iSUP after it travels but that isn't hard with an electric pump that is powered by DC electric from the vehicle.

What did you go with? Today is july fourth and i bought a MYBOAT WAVE RIDER because that brand appears to be the very best quality in features, accessories, build, and stability out of everything between the cheapest, and 400 to 500 bucks. Apparently you can have one foot in the middle and one on the edge without tipping or leaning hardly at all. I guess I'll find out in a month when i get to the place i had it shipped to 🤣 Also I heard from somewhere that an inflatable only gains 5 percent drag to a comparable hard board. So 95% efficiency.

Is there much difference in speed between your 10.8x31 rigid board and your inflatable board (which is longer)? Thank you!

Both boards are the same length but the inflatable is 33" wide. The rigid board does have better glide and speed do to the deep center channel design it has underneath the board. Since the inflatable does not have this design underneath and it's 2" wider it's a little bit slower.
