It falls off the cliff. Your shade then in to deep and deeper in just 4 shades. So no undertone consideration as well as no shades between you and Jackie Aina and Ohema. 🙄
@@ceceliavanegas8954 From what I can understand of your broken English, NO. Nobody *wants* a reason to complain. We all want to be happy and content. But when something is seriously problematic like this, like leaving entire groups of people out of the makeup community for the sake of laziness and/or racism, of course she’s going to call it out, as anyone and everyone should. It’s just not acceptable!! 🤦🏽♀️ Don’t hate.
I think the same! The Armani one is too olive meanwhile the Makeup Revolution has more of an warm undertone but it’s not really yellow like we usually see, it’s just a bit orange/red 🧐
@@reina2081but if the undertone was right on her, it shouldn’t actually look that green against her skin. Because she’s less green than her olive toned foundation, the contrast between her skin and the foundation makes the green pigment stand out more than it would against something equally green or even greener. Same deal with the Revolution side. Being more neutral than that shade, makes the orange tones pop against her complexion. If it were applied to the right person, it wouldn’t look orange at all. This phenomenon in color is referred to as “simultaneous contrast.”
I agree it looks better, but I think it's possible that in person it is the other way around. I had a smillar thing happen to me, where a foundation matched perfectly on camera but wasn't olive enough in real life
I'm sorry to somewhat disagree but I think the Revolution looks great on you! Undertone and all. By the time you set that Revolution is gonna look better than the expensive one. I do agree with you on the shade range though. But girl, you need to give us a full completed face with the Revolution one I bet it looks fire!
My apologies for the confusion. I didn't mention "brown girl friendly" for a reason. I simply pointed out since you compared it to the high end option. It still looked good on you was my only point. Sorry if that was offensive in some way.
Revolution side is a better match not the other one. I have noticed in all your videos your foundation doesn't match you its far too ashy and that revolution side is NOT too orange for you that is your exact shade
@@sarahmclin2434 its about trying to achieve brighter looking skin with makeup we all do it and she can make it work but her chin area isn't colour corrected enough and it looks too ashy especially when she adds the too light concealer i think she should keep it to foundation in that area also her camera makes her look lighter than she actually is.
I’m so annoyed about the lack of shades in the Revolution foundation because it’s truly amazing! I can’t give a shade close to mine, so I have to mix with the orange pigment from LA girl! Maybe try to mix yours with a tiny bit of the blue mixing pigment to make it less orange 😊
Revolution drops a ton of products rapid fire for cheap and only keep/build on products that are successful, so if this takes off I'm sure they'll add more shades. They release so much shit for short term idk if they could afford to have a huge shade range in everything they do lol. Tbh the amount of shades they put out for a launch is actually a lot compared to their normal range
Everyone talks about how wonderful the Armani foundation is but there are literally no colour matches for my skin tone and I'm a 'brown girl'. I think maybe you should mention that in your videos every once in a while that BGF makeup still might not be friendly to every brown girl 😊
Respectfully, no one can find their 'perfect' shade in every foundation. Literally no one, not even white women. Thats why colour correctors exist like the one by ELF that Monica introduced me to if you want a perfect match.
@@Loungelizardatwar but see that wouldn't fit her narrative, and with that inflammatory narrative ultimately she makes money. Unfortunate because she's very talented with Makeup and other than that has a great personality so I think she would be successful without all of the victim narrative soap box nonsense.
She actually appears very "orange" on camera. And there's so much warmth to her tone. She keeps saying she's olive, but it looks like she has more red tones. I know Indian girls with olive tones and she's quite off the mark from being 'olive' toned. Unless she's trying to tone down the warmth of skintone.
I found the most GORGEOUS purple gloss from Makeup Revolution on a whim this past December. And yeah, I expect better from them in terms of catering shades to deeper skin tones.
Honestly, the both work. The Dupe actually is a perfect match for your skin on camera. However, the Armani gives you a bit of a glow. They both work! You can use the dupe and add some Huda Banana powder and get that glow effect.
I HATE to say this, but as somebody that’s dark skinned WITH COOL UNDERTONES, high end brands have done it for me. Not necessarily Armani (or whatever brand lol that’s not in my budget😂) but whenever I get cheaper foundations, the formula sucks, it’s the wrong undertone, the dark shades with my undertone are too light or dark, or they don’t have my color at all. The only good thing is it’s easier to mix (sometimes). But I’ve noticed that foundations that cost 40$+ fit me well, for my combo skin, my cool undertone and dark skin. My favorite of all time is Lancôme (idk the foundation but it’s like light to medium coverage) because they have nice undertones and nars (literally all products from blush to lip colors fit my skin well). There are very few drugstore(cheaper) brands that fit brown to dark skin and if they have our color they don’t have the undertone because we’re all supposed to be orange underneath 🤡. I think high end brands do that too because they want the money. But idk 🤷🏿♀️
What I see here from my phone screen, your skin has an olive undertone but still has some pink hue... The makeup revolution is actually quite good on you, if maybe a little bit lighter... But it kind of also match your neck really well as your body is one shade darker than your face
Could you do some adjusting with the LA girl pigment correctors? I know it sucks that you can’t pull your shade off the shelf but it would allow you to match your tone a bit better and save a crap load of money!
L'Oreal true match as the olive undertone. They are the only ones on the market that use five pigments in their foundation line! They actually cater to people with olive skin tones
I think the maker of the product always has a lot to do with it lol. HudaBeauty is Iraqi living in the UAE so she has plenty of olive undertones / darker shades for brown people, Armani (Georgio Armani) is an Italian-born Armenian, so olive is a must. I guess from that, we can tell who runs Makeup Revolution 😝
I will say, as an italian, that it's not always like that. For example, other italian brands like Kiko, Pupa and Deborah have very limited shade ranges, and all the paler ones have cold\pink undertones, when pretty much 90% of italians have either warm or olive undertones even when pale. Imo it has more to do with cheap brands wanting to invest the least amount possible while getting the biggest part of the population possible on the international market, so they have few shades and only consider the average undertone for each(pale with cold, brown and dark with warm) and be done with it.
As a super pale girl I understand that you absolutely need more shades but I am so happy that’s they have so many light shades, I can never find anything that’s not orange for me, so those light shades are so great for me, the darker shades are bad tho, hopefully they make more shades
I think she just wants to look “lighter” or less “orange” don’t know how to explain but I think the foundation she has on looks incredible and makes an good match with her neck and chest area. Plus once you put powder or other stuff, I’m sure it looks natural and beautiful. I think it made her look good. Idk if lighting or just camera but just my opinion.
Try Loreal true match in W7. It's definitely olive. But they also have other shades that may work well for those needing more neutral shades and it's buildable and affordable.
I personally like the tone of MR better although it's warmer cause the GA looks a bit yellow greenish on you and not sure if it's the camera catching those tones or what but what I see I feel MR tone is way better looking . Either way you are beautiful 🥰
Makeup brands have been doing this for years. Release a small group of shades and see how people like it and then increase the shade range in a later release.
I’m noticing comments about the dupe being a good match on her skin, which is true. But the problem arises (at least me) is when I wearing a lower cut top there is an obvious difference in color when using the more orange shade. The olive foundation tends to match better with rest of the skin.
I feel like it doesn’t matter what shade, hardly any of the makeup companies make good matches for olive skin tones. I’m a very pale olive, and I always have to mix mitral shades with the lightest warm shade to match my complexion. It’s like they think everyone is all either, warm, cool or neutral. Also, people can be warm or cool in different ways, some have way more red, or way more yellow, or more blue, or way less of those things but aren’t quite neutral. I wish they’d come out with a easily accessible way to customize foundations and concealers so those who are olive, pale, brown, or the darkest of the dark could all have their perfect shade all of the time.
Both are beautiful but definitely the revolution was a much closer match it looked like your skin but flawless whereas the Armani one was very light compared to your neck , maybe it was just the lighting though , either way they both look stunning on you ❤
I like the skin silk color on you better i think the little bit orange matched your neck quite well? Maybe you could mix the nxt color up or down you think??
that is literally so annoying like make better shades i personally have a pink blue and olive undertone causing there to be no good shades for me and i tan really easily i get it and i really hope it gets better soon LOVE YOU❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Il Makiage is still the best foundation I’ve tried that has actual range from beige to honey to tawny to brown to deep brown and a pink, yellow, ruddy, or olive undertone for each shade. I will never try anything else. Admittedly: it’s not enough coverage for some ppl skin
I'm mixed race I am also shade 12.5 I tried going lighter to see if it would be less orange but it was too light. They don't have a massive variety but I have seen some dark colours in their other range of foundations. I'm from the uk so I'm not sure if we always have the same range of stuff x
Idk if it was camera and lighting helping but the revolution seemed to match your neck and chest better than the other. Your undertone may be warmer than you think
It just seems like most brands are horrible at making more darker shades and also lighter shades too. If you’re tan, honey, walnut, and those type of shades, that’s who they cater to.
I’m not gonna lie; i don’t hate when drugstore foundations aren’t a complete match. I’m happy to use a concealer I love to color correct I’d I get the formula that works for my skin at a fraction of the cost
ugh, i wish makeup brands could learn. they have so many shades of almost identical pale foundation and like five darker shades. what about people with different undertones?? nope, all just use the brown color. it's really unfair.
I always see you with foundation shades that are not a good match for you and make your skin look kinda ashy. The revolution one is slightly warmer and it looks soooooo good on you ! That's the sort of shade you should be going for. It's not orange, it fits right.
Can you be grateful that your getting something it takes time to get EVERYONES skin tone like give them a break your acting like them can do a perfect match of everyone’s skin tone
I have a Mediterranean medium skin tone that is olive. I can’t describe the difficulties I have finding a foundation that is not orange on me!!! It sucks.
