Might be tough to lift that furniture up that high to get it on top. Maybe you could install pully hoists in the ceiling over the furniture. Only the hooks would be in the rafter. You could pullout and attach the rope pully part to the ring mount when you need to use it. then you dont need saw horses. Wrap the straps around the furniture and hoist it up.
Good morning, PawPaw. I think your plan for preparing should you have flooding again is a very good one and will make it so much easier on you and Gi both should it ever happen again. I truly understand that you would never want to leave Morrow Hill. Some people may not understand why you would want to remain there, but many have never one place where they have lived for most of their lives and can't understand being rooted in one place for a lifetime. I love that little Koda Bear. She is a smart one and I do love to hear her talk and sing. I have been working outside this week, yesterday got a little hot for comfort but this morning is as cold as a Fall morning normally would be. Bed is such a good worker and help for you and many others who may need him to help them out. He does need to stay away from those "Cougars" though.🤣

Good afternoon everyone! I enjoy seeing the green everywhere! In our north central TX nothing but dry and brown. No rain for two months! I don’t blame GiGi having apprehension about flooding…so emotional and draining. We will continue to pray when rains and hurricanes come! The sawhorses are a superb idea even to my hubby Carl. He thinks that should help Gi’s fears somewhat. Good call for the future flooding! Hope it never comes again!
Paw Paw, I think the saw horses are a great idea! A thick piece of plywood on your saw horses will allow a large area for the furniture, and the weight of it will keep it from being moved
Good morning Paw paw,lovely video,Koda made me laugh calling Little Foot a flamingo,that a big word for a little girl 😁.Love watching the boys chase each other around the yard they have so much energy.That is a good plan you and Gigi have for the floods,saves moving all the furniture.Could you buy small sacks and fill them was sand to put around the house,it will slow the water coming in,if you pack them tight.We used sand bags at our door stacked up to make a small wall when our river burst it’s banks many years ago.Ben is doing a great job painting,it’s looking great.Thanks for sharing.
Good Morning PawPaw! I understand Miss Gigi’s apprehensions. The home is our base and when something like a flood comes it takes away our sanctuary. The sawhorses sound like a great idea. You know the saying, happy wife. Happy life. It may be alot of work but worth it. 😊. It’s a “ flamingo” pawpaw! She’s the cutest. Buster thinks he’s a big dog. Hello Pawpaw. Brilliant idea with the saw horses, as you can't raise the house if a flood is imminent then raising the furniture is the next best option. The house can easily be cleaned but having to replace furniture each time is the toughest bit. Good morning PawPaw, Gigi, Koda , Ben and all the fur babies. Have a blessed day. Pawpaw I totally understand GiGis fear of the flooding. I mentally couldn't handle having to deal with the after effects of the water destroying my home. I personally have both hips replaced. My left one became a problem dislocating and then became infected with MRSA. I ended up with nerve damage and foot drop. I react negatively to being on cement floors. It causes me deep muscle pain. I pray that Gigi doesn't have the same problem cause it's a miserable condition to have. Lord knows I can personally empathize with GiGi.

Good Friday morning Paw Paw Ben and fur babies. Koda is a treat to see 🥰. I do not like white kitchens actually white on any walls. To sanitary looking. I feel for the people having to prepare moving furniture and painting the floors. My goodness it's too warm. A fall or later job when it cools some. Hi Paw Paw I understand Gigi's worry over flooding again. PTSD can affect anyone and it's awful. I think the Sawhorse solution is a good one. It may be a good idea to get some sandbags they're used a lot over here and they do help. Koda Bear is so sweet. I think she saw Little Foot standing on one leg and she's seen a flamingo do the same. Koda thinks Little Foot is a Flamingo. I thinks thats the curest thing. Little Foot kinda does look like a flamingo except she's not pink. 😅. Ben has done a very good job painting. Your plan with the saw horses sounds Great! Anything to help GiGi with stress on floods. I hope the cement floors won't be too hard on her hips/legs. How about your knees, also!!! I'm not good on cement floors. Cracked my left hip and out of the skin in a car accident when I was 17 Yrs old. Not complaining, it could of been worse!!! 🤣 otherwise I love the idea of just painting the floors. That is a tension reliever all by itself!! You guys are only in the 90's today with low humidity. I hope that is true for you guys!!!! I have to say I like the tan color for your kitchen!! I was expecting it lighter as well! But that color should look really nice also!! I hope your house never floods again. Talking about your floors though, have you thought about staining and sealing the concrete? They have all colors these days, and stain doesn’t peel.
Definitely paint the floors but keep using the rugs as they can be rolled up and put on top of furniture if needed ❤ it will keep a cozy warmth feeling to the floor - don’t give rugs away! I laughed so hard when Coda talked about a Flamingo 🦩

PawPaw. Look into staining the concrete vs painting. Never peels and water won't hurt it. So easy to keep clean. Another thought is the new rubber mats for the floors vs rugs. Same thing, if they get wet no big deal. Comes in all colors and sizes. Also, so much better for your knees and hips. I get it. Flooding causes so much damage other than just tearing things up. Check out Home Depot or Lowes on their rubber flooring. Great idea about the saw horses. They make lightweight aluminum ones which would be so easy to handle. Being proactive is so important.
Saw horses sounds like could protect if a 3 ft flood. I hope y'all don't have to go thru that again. You may have already thought of this..Put an addition on house. This add would be up high.Maybe on blocks. Maybe off your living room & kitchen w a wide pretty stair..You know 3 steps up to platform them turns w 4 more steps to new area. I keep trying to dream & think of some solutions w y'all. Maybe I need to go back to the drawing board😂❤
