i LOVE the absolutely opposite of correct weightlifting advice they give in this show. Ths clip with Dee is a great one and earlier in the season with mac and charlie and the pool table "are you lifting with your back? you need to jerk it up with your back!"

A side consideration try watching the bloopers of each season once you're done. You're right. It takes many takes for the crew to get the scenes down bc they're all laughing so much, especially Rob who plays Mac. I can't blame them.

Others in that situation might make half-assed excuses, but they entirely feel they did nothing wrong. There's a fair number of people who can lift that ratio, but not without extensive training first. I wonder how they did the scene, because that bar sounds heavy when it hits the safety rails, and it's all one shot. If Kaitlin managed to move 200 lbs even that much, I've very impressed, and glad she wasn't injured. 4:11 That sounded and looked like it hurt. IIRC, pro fighters toughen their hands by incurring micro-fractures that heal denser than the original bone (bone scar tissue, sorta). I doubt Charlie Day's had a lot of call to do that, and it takes a long time. The bigger gloves are interesting; I assume that's a women's boxing thing, meant for safety, I'm sure. Unfortunately, as I understand it, there's a historical correlation between greater hand protection and *more* injuries, not less. Counterintuitive, but they reviewed bare-knuckle boxing records and found way fewer accounts of serious injuries than the equivalent in gloved fights. The theory is that gloves let you punch for the jaw and face, whereas doing that bare-knuckle is likely to break your hand (as your target is thick bone), so bare-knucklers focused more on the body. More head punches = more concussions/spine injuries/etc. 8:26 IANAL, but I'm not sure why an illegal underground fight club would have waivers. If you know who the organizers are to sue them, surely the cops could easily find out, too, and would arrest them? Also, wouldn't it be like trying to get someone arrested because they punched you in the face while you were mugging them? Some self-incrimination inherent in the accusation, surely. Any law-talkers have ideas on the subject? Thanks!
