Great subject… when I started collecting my kids were teenagers, I had to have long long layaways ..and collect very very slowly.. when I sold.. I allowed long long layaway’s.. now my kids are long flown the nest.. our situation is completely different.. (no shops in heaven right? ) I do remember seeing all the dolls ..and having to wait several years until they fell into my price bracket.. 🙏 life is never still though.. great chat ❤❤❤

What a sweet looking baby, it is getting hard to sell babies people like to challenge the price you have decided on. And if you really want to sell the baby you end up bargaining with them so you end up selling for less.

He is so beautiful. I love the silicone dolls. This is definitely an expensive hobby. Right now, I'm not making many sales.

It's not only the costs of the dolls that's limiting what I bring into my collection but also the fact that I haven't been able to sell them either (Time wasters and scammers kind of made me stop posting sales. When things were better, I purchased a lot of blank vinyls and a few silicone kits. Now, I've resolved to paint those kits already in my collection for a new doll feel. I attended the NC doll show this past weekend, need I say, it was like being on a restricted diet yet spending hours in a pastry shop, lol. I did buy a few items but no dolls although they were beautiful. So, in answer to your question, it was easier for me to afford the hobby a few years ago but not so much now.

I’m not independently wealthy so no, it’s not easy for me to afford this hobby, especially where silicones are concerned. I like to browse, but prices just keep climbing. Jaylen is as adorable as always!

Its very very expensive and I have my first real silicon doll coming next week and a custom in about a month or two. But thats if for this year unless I make the baby myself! I am an artist and I definitely have to sell for a while. I really hope we will have a good christmas this year and people will buy for gifts and after they get their christmas money! Im always tempted to lower my prices but then I dont make anything at all and its frustrating!
