Then, sample sound bites of Ben saying gangster shit, and loop them for the chorus and in between verse lines. Title the album, “Shapiro’s Hot Garbage”, title one track “Melody”, one track “Harmony” and one track “Rhythm”. And, you have to have a track titled “Thug Life”, too. It's very simple, he just wanted to avoid being called a racist because he does not like rap music. Because narrow-minded people and those who oppose him would make a statement that he is a racist because he does not like rap music. So in order not to make these statements against him, he stated that he likes jazz music and that this is also a historically black form of music but at a "quality level".
Ιs also a feature of intelligence. Being insightful. At that moment, he saw where his statement about rap music could go and how his opponents could use it to call him a racist and reduce his social image to the public. so he is thinking at that moment to mention jazz music so that his opponents do not make these statements against him. Βecause he knows how his opponents might think, he did so to refute his opponents' statements before they were even made.
Literally nobody called him racist for saying rap isn't music, the controversy was because he said some things about defining music which tons of experts in music theory debunked. Rap’s largely the worst genre out of all of them, though since the concepts of better or worse are subjective, it’s better to say: rap is the easiest and most basic genre out of all of them. It’s annoying af when people do that, and usually it’s the left.
@Martha Sviniard And? Why isn't it ok that Ben doesn't recognize it as music? Which, if you were paying attention, he said that he's since been convinced that it IS a form of music.
@Martha Sviniard No, it's totally different. I personally don't like metal but I can say without a doubt it's a form of music. Let me.try and explain it with an analogy I don't like many foods that other cultures consider delicacies. However I wouldn't say that 'this isn't food', just because it doesn't conform with my eating habits Sure, I can say I don't like it, but I'll acknowledge it as food I don't like. In fact, the people who made it will respect me for giving them my honest opinion of their food. However, if I were to say 'this isn't food', or can't be considered food' that would be *extremely* insulting not only to the chef (the rapper, in our case) but to everyone who enjoys that food (rap fans)
Martha Sviniard No it’s not the same shit at all. Your logic is completely stupid. Just because one implies the other, does not mean they are logically equivalent. You can dislike something some music and still recognise as a piece of music. You rightwingers are pretty fucking dumb.

What is an inflammatory about "rap is not music"? It's at its core just a different way to say that it's garbage. The inflammatory part comes from easily misconstruing that as "black music is not music" which is downright... I don't even have an adjective for this level of stupidity. So Ben Shapiro addressed the only inflammatory thing about that statement that he has heard or read in the media himself.
Once Ben has a few more years under his belt, the man has a cakewalk to the Presidency, if he wants it. NOBODY would take him down in Presidential debates!
This is true of most genres honestly. People hear stuff on the radio and assume it's the absolute best of the best because it's so popular. Of course this is never true, and is arguably the OPPOSITE of true in some genres, such as pop and rap. Things get popular because they are catchy and simple, not because of artistic brilliance, and every supposedly risky step of creativity taken by a popular artist has ALWAYS been previously tried by genuine innovators who recorded with crappy equipment in their bedroom, only out of a passion for creating. It's important that people learn this. There are powerful people in the music industry who play a part in controlling the culture, and one of their tools is art. In the age of the internet, it is easy to reclaim art by broadening your understanding of it.
