The day is finally here! We got the Life-Size Baby Yoda from Sideshow Collectibles! The Child Life-Size Figure measures 16.5” tall and looks so realistic, even down to the fuzzy hair on his little head. Fun fact- the hair is what's called "rooted". That means, its put into the silicone dolls head 1 or 2 hairs at a time with a (usually) 40 to 42 guage needle. You stab it in at an angle and it stays put...Its a technique that is painstakingly crafted by reborn doll artists especially to achieve a hyper realistic look on a dollshead. 1 Newborn baby sized head can take WEEKS to root!

Having a Sideshow box arrive is so exciting. I got my first two pre order Sideshow purchases delivered during the pandemic. The packaging is half the fun. They are the best! Details incredible. And the artists and staff at Sideshow their videos, events etc, is a community in itself. Congratulations your Baby Yoda is incredible. Looking forward to seeing their Hot Toys version.

The animatronic’s head sculpt is a bit odd. Though it has better accessories than the plush. The walking version that’s coming is also interesting. Nothing quite beats the sideshow version due to their collaboration with Legacy for the sculpt.

I feel like because the plush has fewer details in the face, it gives it a more cute and cuddly (not that the life-size one isn't cute) appearance that would appeal more to young kids.

A friend just picked up the shoulder one for me, not the cutest, but it’s a shoulder one! Still want the Toydarian version, then I’ll be done I think. Also have the plush, the pen for my desk, and the ornament! 4 or 5 is good for me ;) Wish I had room for this perfect rendition, sigh. Anyway, too many Childs is all to the good. Now off to watch the “real” one.

I got mine on the 5th and it's pretty awesome! Glad you guys got it too. I remember the site crashing when it went up for pre-order. They hand punch the hair. This was made in collaboration with Legacy Effects that made the real puppet on the show!

Loved this. My 4 year old watched it with me because he loves Baby Yoda. He loved that he had feet, because when he got his $25 Baby Yoda, he said he couldn’t use the force because he didn’t have feet. He also giggled when you did the butt shot. His quote was “You don’t show people’s butts. That’s unappropriate!” It was pretty cute.

Hm. The Sideshow version is ready for display. But I think, with some color and some work, the Mattel version can go very far as well...I will take this route.

it’s probably an unpopular opinion but i like the plush toy’s face better because the sideshow one went a bit overboard with the pink in the ears and cheeks. the paint job is a bit off and feels more like an old man. the plush toy is more cartoony but acceptable for what it is. with sideshow, excellent reputation for detail, and you expect better quality for $350, but that paint job...

I think after just watching the second episode the expensive one is truly a remarkable likeness. Also the pink in his cheeks is more pronounced in that episode. I think he is super cute and his expression is a little "who? Me?!?!?" Trying to be all innocent or something for stealing that ball hahaha.

That is pretty awesome. A little pricey for my tastes though. Okay, who am I kidding. I paid $200 for a lightsaber in Disneyland so I guess $400 isn't that bad. 😂 The plush has a much cuter face but the other one is much more realistic.

Check out the animatronic one from Walmart 59$. I love mine, and he looks exactly like the one from the show. He moves and coos and raises his arm. He stands, blinks, and sleeps if you lay him down.Super cool. I love the one you got. Very realistic.

I like the color, proportions, and facial expression of the plush. But the statue does have feet, the magnetic ball, and has “real” hair... I also feel like I would be too nervous to carry around the Sideshow or Hot Toys Child while cosplaying (which is my primary justification for buying it other than it’s cute and I just want it.) I also have the animatronic one. That one looks good, but is like 1/3 the size of the plush.
