The face being visible through the windshield is really funny to me, and unironically my favourite part of this figure. Now we know how this guy actually sees when driving around in vehicle mode.
@@Byrdstar6423-un3me I think it would be pretty difficult to get him to look good in Robot mode if they can't store robot mode parts in the spaces that would be open in the actual plane I'm sure so i think the most they can do is commander class given that
Looking at how _nice_ this figure can look in its different incarnations, and some of the neat things you can do in transforming the mold - this is a toy that needs the ridiculous full third party panels-folding-into-panels-folding-into-little-stubby-things treatment. A version of this figure meant specifically for the adult collector and with an even higher engineering and assembly budget could easily be something that would make collectors like you proud, and probably cause Jobby the Hong to catch an obscenity charge. Also, as noted elsewhere, a repaint where the altmode is the TMNT Party Bus would basically sell itself. Honestly, if Has/Tak don't do this as a repaint themselves, it'll be because they can't get the license.
I like imagining a fun dialogue on NEST Headquarters of Wheeljack in his DOTM ages showing his pals pics of his ROTB times and stating it was his "chick magnet look of his college years"
If I had a nickel for every Wheeljack figure that comes out in 2024 and is screen accurate to some piece of media then I’d have 3 nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened thrice in one year
The clear plastic doors is what makes the transformation scary and the trigger happy shoulders for Optimus is way worse than Wheeljack/Pablo because of the smoke stacks and this is my third favorite deluxe class
And looks damn good too. It's a shame they didn't just keep that head design for the film, or at least something close, then I would have had zero problems with the rest of the changes.
I've finally mastered the art of the Pablo/Causatron/Wheeljack's assistant transformation. it's somewhat easy once you get the hang of it. the doors are the biggest offender of course, but for such a detailed and gorgeous figure, I think it's a fair trade-off. love my Pablo, and, as a peruvian, I'll cherish him dearly.
No clue why this figure ended up half-baked. I just installed a 3rd party upgrade I got from EBay that gives him arm cannons, a new torso piece, and extensions that let his doors transform properly, and it elevates this guy from “meh” to “spectacular.” His transformation didn’t have to be miserable in the first place, it’s such an easy fix.
I like the brighter color wheeljack over all but i love beast alliance wheeljack vehicle mode alot because it looks like something from cars cause of the holes in the window for van mode lol
Always love the work. Was looking forward to this. I have the cheap-o version and painted it up. It has so much sculpted detail that was begging to be painted and was well worth it.
The transformations and transparent plastic is the reason I get 2 of the same figure, one for robot mode and one for vehicle mode, Then I don't have to worry about things dropping off or clear plastic breaking as much.
5:26 The main line one does tab in the chest. You just have to press harder on that peg to actually peg in. At least on mine is like this. But give it a try. Maybe it will work 🤔 😁👍
I personally feel like the mainline toy fits the bill the best for me over the SS. The knee's bending lower, the waist being a bit more chunky, the way the shoulders and doors are, and the front of the proper front of the car makes up the chest (normally i'm not super picky with faux parts, but i think it helps with the overall aesthetic) If they had taken the mainline, fixed the tabbing issues, and made the van licensed and cleaner looking, i think the SS would have been perfect
@@OtisCluckno matter how many times you comment this no one really cares. This meme will never die. Sorry to tell you but wheelJack has way too much history to be altered so drastically and accepted like nothing. This is the cinematic version, but not the definitive version. And that's why no one cares. 😂
Man I wish he was a Voyager so that he is actually proportional to the rest of the alt modes. That was my only real issue with the mainline one I'm just not gonna pick this one up.
i actually love this guy and im very upset with amazon couse even tho i preordered him as soon as his was available there they still decided to postpone my order (which was supposed to be here almost a week ago) untill august
I bought this guy a while back and it's one of the very few Transformers I've bought that I regretted instantly. I really should've returned it but I kept it because it looks nice in my collection. My other option was the far more expensive yet far more desirable Optimus Primal...
Is the main line deluxe the same mold that came in the jungle mission 3 pack? Because I have the one from the 3 pack and the studio series and honestly I prefer the 3 pack version. The transformation on the studio series scares me and I don’t like that the doors open the wrong way
It’s really funny to me that the chest is fake yet they didn’t sculpt in the suspenders on it. It’s was high up in concept art too, so they don’t even have that excuse.
I love how Pablo is one of the greatest, chadest designs for a character ever, but whenever I listen "Wheeljack" I have this little moment of "Who?" in my mind before remembering Pablo is actually Wheeljack 😂 I may not recognize him as Wheeljack, but I sure as h3ll LOVE this character 🤎
Really want to get this one to mostly complete the Autobot ROTB cast. The engineering I feel would have worked much better with this being a Voyager. Saving grace though is you can remove the doors completely simplifying the transformation some. And here I thought Mirage was fiddley.
Why do the robot mode headlights look like little eyes? Anyway great vid, but I’m sad that it’s pablover now. Edit: let me guess, you got this from GameStop Canada like scopinok
Wind shield is too wide. I’ve sanded quite a few of these and it just bugs me. Other wise I love the part below the windshield. Looks good! Silhouette looks good. I didn’t see many panel vans even back In the day. Nice they chose this model.
I feel like they couldn't budget in his actual blaster so they compromised and used the remaining space on the transparent plastic sprue with an existing cad file.
Studio Series Pablo may be a bit strange, but I think hes a pretty good figure. I'm debating on getting him or not. I already want SS Wheeljack, so maybe I should get his (should-be-confirmed) assistant, Pablo! I don't really care if you cal him "Wheeljack" but you should know & remember that he is in fact his own character. Besides, hes better that way. SS Pablo's van mode is really good, its nice. The doors are a bit weird, I do wish they were more accurate to the movie, but Ig, they're fine. I wonder, can you rotate his head for van-mode so you won't see his face? I personally call him Pablo cuz hes his own character & I want to distinguish him from Wheeljack, & cuz he has "TV Pablo" written on his van-mode. By calling him Pablo, I am not trying to be rude to the character nor anyone irl. I call him Pablo strictly cuz of the reasons I mentioned.
I didn't like the crap on his back so I transformed him. Before I was even halfway through I decided I was never going to transform him again because it was so unintuitive and frustrating. I like the mainline's bot mode much more, so it works out.
kind of a shame how this figure turned out especially given how not only did I like Wheeljack’s like…2 minutes of screentime I think? But I’m a sucker for vintage vehicle modes like this ol Sambabus Van here, I’ll prolly get it on discount just for that honestly
I really like this figure despite it being a tad fiddley. It's by far the best version of the character we've gotten(come on yolopark, make RotB Wheeljack, please!) And I look forward to an inevitable upgrade kit that gives him his arm cannons, head fins(from the 2 seconds he had them) and adapters to attach the door wings the correct way.
El famoso Causatron; despiste I always considered that this character should have been called "Beachcomber"; when it comes to the design, function and personality; it might have been that character than Wheeljack, but, at least is an "2 steps foward and 2 steps backward" improvement, compared to the "Einstein-Jack" from DOTM...
Feels like they tried to make this different from the two toys of this guy at this size they’d made just to have a different figure to justify an SS release and it suffered as a result
The first thing I am going to do a give him a headswap. I don't care if I make him less movie accurate. I cannot stand the panels on the hands and I cannot stand when they design the wheels that go inside the legs instead of outside.
i have nothing against redesigning characters but this design just doesn't look good to me. If you like it, that's cool but it's personally not my cup of tea
@@ChristopherLanier-bk8leBecause it was an error. Also, there's never been a live action Streetfighter film, and Bumblebee was the first live action TF film.
everytime i look at it, i don't know if i like it or not. so, my only conclusion for the time being is to see a yolopark one and maybe a possible 3rd party
Ok. Just a thing here. I do not like the head design of this Wheeljack in general. If you have SS81 Wheeljack from the Bumblebee film, you can pop that head off and replace SS108's with SS81's.
Im really curious if there is a legit reason they keep insisting on the Trigger Happy shoulders. Ruins so many great figures. Ss bb Soundwave, my beloved
after all this time, some things I dont get about the RotB toyline is A) how are you still releasing figures this long after the premiere of the movie and STILL using inaccurate concept art for them _(Mirage, Scourge, Cheetor)_ B) how are you fixing Mirage's Studio Series head but missing Studio Series Pablo's _very clear lack of a handheld blaster_ and C) how are you advertising Arcee using Pablo as a mobile weapon's platform in the movie but NOT making a toy that can do that how _how_ _make that make sense_
usually these toys take a lot of time to develop and the designers probably only had concept art designs to base the toys of of and didn't know the final designs for these characters were different to the toys and were to far into development to change the toys look
Genuinely love this Wheeljack, definitely my favorite design of the character(The discourse online really soured the G1 version for me), really wanted him to have more scenes in the movie. About the toy, it's unfortunate how less fun the transformation is compared to the mainline, and i wish he came with those awesome, big Megaman-like Arm Cannons he had in the movie, but the accuracy of both the robot and vehicle mode sells this for me. Hope to get it for a good price as soon as possible! Great review as always!
now I can say that this is objectively good for what is doing. But, i would have absolutely sacrificed him for a good frenzy or hound cause, well, him ugly
I wish they'd released Pablo a while ago. Ending the rotb stuff on a super low note like this is not a good look. He's not the greatest desgin to begin with, and he didn't do anything in the film, but then they give his toy so many weird and ugly aspects, liket he inaccurate door wings, the panels that hide the hands, the stupid-ass little gun, and a horrible tranformation. Poor Pablo.
Going forward could you call trigger happy shoulders hot rod shoulders as that is what most transformers fans are referring to them as, (because all three WFC/SS Have them) you don't have to but I think it would be more consistent for the rest of the fandom
