Can we all just take a minute to appreciate the new intro?! Love it so much and the amount of thought she puts into it for us!!

Here was my ritual to moving day. When it’s your last hour at the rental do a blessed goodbye. I went into all the rooms and spaces and said a few things and I gave the house thanks and told it to be good to the next people. Then in my new home I had a quiet moment. I told it a bit about me, my family and my dreams and wishes. My husband and I opened a bottle of wine, we found a spot that we liked ( no furniture yet) sat on the floor and had a quiet moment. I still remember this 23 years later. It’s been our only home we have owned.

As someone who had a traumatic event happen to our family, a safe home is what we are now looking for. Thanks for reminding me that’s it’s totally normal and okay to search for a home that makes us feel safe above everything else🤍

I love how much more room you have than the apartment & you'll have the space to adapt as your family changes. I can imagine your "mum's/guest room" becomes the primary bedroom & "Romeo's office/your studio becomes the nursery, so you're on the same floor. This would then make the techically "walk through" space an office/studio/guest bed with access to the lower powder room & the laundry. That's all a matter of how long you have guests to stay & who they are, as well as the space a baby takes to start with. As a most likely sleep deprived new parent, you probably won't want to deal with changing floor levels so think of where a crib will end up - stuff can go anywhere but make it as easy as possible for yourselves!

Can we all just clap 👏🏼 for how he wrapped the couch? That’s a moving company…5 ⭐️’s!

I know you’ve mentioned how important the music is to you and how much effort you put into it, but I just wanted to share that it’s one of my favorite parts of your videos. You choose perfect music that matches the mood or what’s happening and I love the new vlog intro song

I’d think about making the downstairs room into Romeos office / guest room since it has plenty of storage and the washer/dryer and then make the upstairs room into the master and build a master bath since the room is so big you can afford it space wise.

I love this house! But does anyone else think the primary bedroom should be upstairs? I’d put the sofa bed downstairs in that room and make it Romeos room- perfect next to the washer/dryer! It would work as his office/snug.

Hi Macenna! I love your video so much! I work in real estate and I have seen a lot of homes/different layouts. I can’t stop thinking about this since I’ve seen your empty house tour. I think you could knock out the wall between the room with the built-in closets and the upstairs bathroom and make that your new master and make Romeos current office the nursery that way you and your kids are on the same floor. And then move Romeos office off the family room. Just wanted to share that idea!

I’m going to see into the future that you will eventually move your bedroom upstairs and make your room now your office/work space. It’s dreamy right now but when you have kids.. you want to be close to them. You will more then likely want your room next to theirs and especially when they are babies.. you will want a bassinet in your room and it doesn’t look like you have much room in there! I can’t wait to see how you decorate this home! It’s gorgeous.

I cannot wait for this to happen to myself and my family. I grew up in a trailer and then on my own apartments. It’s always been my dream to own a two story house with big wooden doors and old old windows💕 congratulations guys !

Have you considered making the downstairs primary Romeo's office (nice and close to laundry) and your supply storage? Seems like you would want to be close to the future nursery... And there's more storage for your clothes up there.

I would have the big upstairs bedroom as the primary, it's so beautiful

I love this house. It's so neat. For me personally, I'd probably use the bigger upstairs bedroom as the main room and the room downstairs as the offices pace. Just spacewise. But either way the big upstairs bedroom definitely works for guest/nursery room. Congratulations!

I hear exactly what your saying about feeling safe in your home that you feel it .I lived in an apartment and the area was a gang area and every night they had drive by shootings and I didn't live there very long I never was scared in my life as I was then..I moved back to my home state and where I grew up and I love it..Best decision ever

When we move we colour code each room with coloured tape or stickers and then the corresponding boxes and furniture so the movers can easily match them up

So happy for you, a little sad because this is where I started watching you and your DIYs, but beyond happy for you three and your growth!

For Kingsley ❤❤. Hi MaCenna We lived in Bali for years and had small dogs. The pool is a dangerous place for them and ours fell in a couple of times. Shihtzus don’t swim!! We emptied the pool and had a step built in all the way around. At least then if they fell in they could get to a ledge. When you said your Kingsley fell in my heart dropped. Just an idea ❤❤

There’s a huge reward living in a house. Mine is so quiet that sometimes I don’t realize there has been a heavy rain or storm. ( during autumn/fall season ) Peace and tranquility. 🌴☀️💛🌿

Is the master bathroom behind the laundry the only bathroom/toilet on the ground floor? If so it might be awkward having the master bed room downstairs? With guests and then later kids, lots of ppl going to be at least trying to use the downstairs bathroom and trecking past your bedroom. If I were you I would use that as an office and spare guest room with the sofa bed. Unless you are adding a powder room downstairs?

The ukulele would be great on the wall as decor!

I could have spent much more of my time simply watching the movers wrap your couch in the plastic film. The mover had the process down to a wonderful flow and I so appreciated the care they provided with the couch being so light in color.

I know he is so grateful and excited for his new office. A space of his own. Good job.

My fiancé and I are in the process of looking for our forever home in LA so I was hoping you could make a video at some point talking about the process you guys took (pretty please). 1.) Like did you search for homes on Zillow, or use an agency, or both? 2.) What was it like applying for a mortgage (it seems so daunting but I know you said in a previous video you remind yourself people do this every day). 3.) Did your first offer get accepted or did you go back and forth with the owner a couple times? 4.) Did your experience buying the cottage help you in knowing what to do this time? Or was it completely different? 5.) Inspections/Closing/Handing over the keys. 6.) And any other tips you have for people looking for homes in LA or in general. Congratulations! So funny that you and Drew are moving at the same time... like, the same week even? I am so sure you'll have so many suggestions about the house, and so many ideas. My only suggestion will be, if you are looking to have children soon, keep updates to your home flexible for now because life changes a lot when you have kids. You may find you want to use the spaces differently later. Can't wait to see what you do with it... though I do have one other suggestion. If you are serious about a baby this year, stay focused on finishing that cottage no matter how much you want to work on your new house, because I have DIY renovated while 6-months pregnant, and I wouldn't recommend it!

MaCenna we had those bulk heads in our kitchen. We removed them and put the cabinets right to the ceiling. But take your time and live in the space. That way you will make changes that work for you.
