i only eat at old style mom and pop restaurants. the ones that serve home cooked style meals. nothing fancy, meat and potatoes with a veg. good amounts, bacon and eggs. you know what i mean. you never leave hungry.
I agree.That's the kind of restaurants I like too. Good food at a decent price. A photo on the wall of the current owner's grandfather who founded the place.
Exactly! I used to go to this Portuguese place , the folks barely spoke a word of English but the food was incredible! $10 for a half chicken dinner with rice or potatoes and veggies. Once the C vid. Hit it was game over. Closed forever 😭. My daughter and I miss that gem of a restaurant.
Same thing with fashion. Or cars or wealth in general. People love to flaunt their wealth and think they're better. If you like your local deli and it is good and affordable, it doesn't make you a worse person at all. Actually on the contrary, I would argue it would make you a better person. You know how to appreciate the 'simple' and real ' good' things in life. Something these yuppies seem to forget. Eating expensive food does not taste better. For example caviaar is just fish eggs. Or oysters. Yuk. Chicken eggs are much better.
