Definitely be sure to obtain the company's written confirmation that they will delete the negative mark off your credit once you remit payment! Having awareness is the first step! You have a great plan. Most people aren't aware of the debt validation or pay to delete so you're already ahead of the game! :)

Happy Friday ❤ So sorry 😢 Sometimes relatives are not family. Your family will support you, but the relatives can take advantage. What if they use your social security number to get a home loan, personal loan, etc ? They’re betting on that family relationship that you won’t do anything and just pay it. Blackmail comes in many forms. It’s identity theft. You may be able to get a new social security number, a police report needs to be made. Praying 🙏 for you. It’s hard to deal with relatives sometimes. Hugs 🤗

Also we are in the same bucket. All of my debt currently is collections (other than student loans). However, I will say I am going to try for pay/delete and the company that owns most of my debt already does pay/delete.
