At my one & only schooling show last summer, I was supposed to go the diagonal but pony was a mess, so I circled to get ourselves together and … went down the straight. My trainer: “Um, that was a really good decision to circle and you really got him together there, but you then you got a little lost.” I watch the video for a good chuckle

Our pony was kind of the switching before a jump. He’s gotten a lot better. Turns out it was partially due to balance but shows made it worse.

I have a dressage horse show this weekend 😳 I’m so nervous but exited! I hope i do good! Idc if I get a good placing just the fact that I tried counts! :) and just after having a bad fall, I had the confidence to get back on and nail the course. :) im so exited to watch this vid! A bunch of horses spooked at those people sitting outside the jumper ring, including mine. Apparently someone politely asked them to move and they refused 💀

People need to get their horses used to anything that could happen at a show! I dont get to change everything my horse finds upsetting, I have to prepare him for anything that might come up

Is it normal in Canada to trot with your shoulders so far forward like that ? Like is it something I you teach ? I feel like it would make you so vulnerable like if a horse spooked it would unseat you a lot more.

shes not in canada? but a slightly forward bend with a light seat isnt uncommon, especially in hunters. The center of gravity is still maintained (in a good rider) and therefore a spook shouldnt disrupt the position or make the rider more “vulnerable”.
