Helena Bonham Carter's impression of Hermione pretending to be her is absolutely astonishing. I don't look at Bellatrix and see Carter, I see Watson. Masterful acting.
A fun fact because you love the way Draco says Potter! To this day Tom Felton will randomly call Daniel Radcliffe and just spit out "Potter!!" and then hang up. Can be anytime middle of the night, whenever. I find it so funny because no one can spit it out like Tom.
I think I did mention it as the 3 of them were walking away on the bridge, but I cut it out of the video :) He always seemed scared into being bad and doing bad things
@@CinobiteReacts There is a cut scene in which Draco throws Harry a wand to help him fight Voldemort at the very moment Harry jumps from Hagrid's arms (when btw, as you asked for an answer, he was pretending to be dead all the time)
I wish they did it like the book where Lucius and Narcissa don’t join in the fight at all and instead run around screaming dracos name and then huddle around him to protect him instead, it’s better than them just running away because the point of the malfoys is that it’s their love for each other that save them. The scene where tho he called over draco in front of Voldemort never happens
@@CinobiteReacts Yeah. In the books when Ron's dad is attacked & they visit him in hospital they see Neville & his grandmother visiting his mum & dad. It was Belatrix who cursed them.
@@clover2739 I think its kinda complicated here. You see he protects him from sec 1 even if he is not the nicest person to him but... he is the constant reminder that his true love chose "the worst person in the world" instead of him. Even with that in mind, he still risks his life again and again to keep Lily's son alive. Snape is perfectly imperfect.
Neville's parents are alive. They were tortured by Bellatrix and will spend the rest of their lives in St. Mungo's. They aren't able to take care of themselves anymore, let alone Neville. That's how he ended up with his grandmother.
Just to make things clear about the resurrection stone! I know it’s hard to remember everything, but when Hermione told the story she said the stone can only “recall loved ones from the grave” not bring them back to life. That is why Harry sees all his loved ones then drops the stone, it was his opportunity for a final goodbye. When he comes back to life, this is because Voldemort only truly killed the horcrux, so the rest of Harry has the chance to live on. At this point, he was close enough to death to choose it over living, but in the end he chose to fight. I think it’s rather beautiful that his first depiction of Heaven was Kings Cross station, as going though platform 9 3/4 changed his life forever and began his journey.
i dont know how so many people are like " so what is snape his real dad?" He literally looks like a mirror image of James Potter how would it make sense for anyone else to be his father?
Dumbledore gives Ron the deluminator because he knew Ron would need help finding his way back to Harry and Ron. Similar thing with Harry and the resurrection stone. He trusted that Harry had understood from the tale of the three brothers that bringing back the dead inflicts pain of both parts because the dead don’t beling in the mortal world. Rather, Dumbledore gave Harry the stone because he knew Harry would need support from his family to be able to go into the forrest and be killed. That’s why the snitch didn’t open until the close/end. Similarly Harry learned from the tale of the three brothers that the elder wand also is way more trouble than benefit.
(english is not my first language so i am sorry for any mistakes) 5:15 That piece of glass was from a gift from Sirius. There were two mirrors that formed a sort of mean of comunication which James and Sirius used while on detention. In the order of the phoenix sirius gave one to Harry so he could talk to him, but he forgot about it and eventually that was one of the reason sirius was killed (harry could have checked if he was really in danger). At the beginning of the book of the deathly hallows harry finds the remains of the mirror at the bottom of his school trunk while he is emptying it for the first time in seven years, he decides to keep it because it is the only thing Sirius gave him he has left.
Due to the damage Voldemort did to his soul by splitting it up so many times. He was unable to move on to the afterlife or return as a ghost his damaged soul was in limbo for eternity. Which is what Voldemort definitely deserves a fate far worse than death. Destroying the horcruxes isn't slowly killing Voldemort. It's just taking away his immortality one step at a time.
Dumbledore knew that harry will be alive after getting hit by the curse. He planned the death of harry to get rid of voldemorts soul. Dumbledore did care for harry.
It should be noted that he didn't come up with the deathly hallows plan until around Order of the Phoenix I think. Before that he fully intended for Harry to just sacrifice himself. He did care for him, he just thought the only way possible to take down Voldemort was for Harry to die first.
Oh, man.... seeing Fred laying on the floor in the Great Hall dead is heartbreaking, but seeing Ron, who's usually so cheerful, break down in tears makes it worse every time I watch. Also, I don't know if you've ever noticed it, but the prophecy spoke of a baby born at the end of July....partially correct, since there were actually two: Neville Longbottom and Harry Potter. Harry and Neville were born in the same month and year, but Neville is one day older. He came through for Ron and Hermione when Nagini lunged at them by slicing off her head with the Sword of Gryffindor and effectively destroying the last of Voldemort's horcruxes. And you can't help but cheer when he makes that speech to Voldemort and his evil crew.
About Crabbe and Goyle, the young man playing Crabbe got into legal trouble, so that was that. Louis Cordice, playing Blaise Zabini, stepped in instead. We saw Zabini on the Hogwarts Express in The Halfblood Prince, smirking at Draco.
@@CinobiteReacts I missed him. There's extra material from The Goblet Of Fire, when the Hogwarts students sing the school song, and Crabbe sings along with gusto and sheer delight, to Draco's and Goyle's dismay, I suppose 😂
His Order of the Phoenix video randomly popped up. So naturally, I went to his playlists and found Sorcerers Stone reaction and binged them all last night while at work. Can’t wait for the finale!!!!!
“That means Vodermort killed himself” yes, well the horcrux part. Dumbledore knew this, he wasn’t being a dick, he was saving the world ❤️ Really enjoyed your reactions 🙌
There is one more important point on Harry's win. When Voldemort came back with his new body he was obsessed on using Harry's blood. When Harry told this to Dumbledore he said it seemed he saw a shine of triumph on albus eyes. That's because that became the key to save Harry from dying. As long as Voldemort was alive, Harry's blood protection spell made by lily would still be alive on toms blood. He made Harry invincible to him
@@DoraScarlet Dumbledore wasn't perfect. He made huge mistakes in his life (mistakes that always pursued him in life) but... he did his best to save the world. At the begining he was never able to tell Harry the truth about him having to die at Voldemort's hands because he really loved Harry and he never got the strenght to tell him. Once he knew Harry could save his life he started to pull the strings to get him out of all this madness alive. But the key in his plan was to keep Harry away from the idea that he was going to survive this. Harry NEEDED to make the sacrifice "knowing" he was gonna die (the same sacrifice Lily made) to save the rest of the magic world. Since Harry gave his life to protect them nobody else could be damaged from Voldemort anymore.
Harry Potter’s ancestors have a long history of investing spells, charms, magical objects and medical potions that people use on a regular basis. Harry being the only surviving member of his family, is the owner of all of those patents. The gold/money magically appears in his vault.
5 days late, but the reason so many of the good teachers remained at Hogwarts was to protect the students from the Death Eaters. Snape also protected them subtly, by giving the members of Dumbledore's Army detention by going with Hagrid to the Forbidden Forest instead of allowing them to be tortured by the Death Eaters as "usual".
Normally a wand that is broken cannot be repaired. In the book Harry uses the Elder wand to repair his original Phoenix wand and since the Elder wand is abnormally powerful, he succeeds. Then he puts the Elder wand "back to where it came from. Harry's survival has nothing to do with the Resurrection stone. The stone only made it easier for him to face death. He survived because when Voldemort returned, he used Harry's blood. And so he took into his own body a tiny part of Lily's protection and kept it alive. As Dumbledore put it in the book: he tethered you to life while he lives. It's superbly ironic because Voldemort was adamant that he must be the one to kill Harry, yet any Death Eater could have killed him easily. The only wizard in the whole world who could not possibly kill Harry was Voldemort. He completely misunderstood the way Harry's blood and Lily's sacrifice worked, because he only thinks in terms of power, he has no clue about nuances. As Dumbledore put it (again): "That which Voldemort does not value, he takes no trouble to comprehend. Of house elves and children's tales, of love, loyalty and innocence Voldemort knows and understands nothing. Nothing. That they all have a power of their own, a power beyond the reach of any magic is a truth he has never grasped. He took your blood believing it would strengthen him. He took into his own body a tiny part of the enchantment your mother laid upon you when she sacrificed herself for you. If he could only understand the precise and terrible power of that sacrifice he would have perhaps not dare to touch your blood." (Yes, I learned it by heart).
One of the best films in the series for sure. Love that Neville finally got a moment to shine. His story arc is so good. If you're interested in more Harry Potter content to react to, the 20th anniversary special and the fan made film "Severus Snape and The Marauders" here on RU-vid would be awesome. 💕
The Gringott's staff knew that Bellatrix's wand had been taken from her. To hand it over would have been the stupidest thing they could possibly have done. Frankly, they should never have brought it with them.
Nobody can ever put the Elder Wand back together because the only wand that can properly repair a wand IS the Elder Wand so you would need to have the Elder Wand to repair the Elder Wand.
Well, it was more cathartic for Mrs. Weasley, to kill Bellatrix, because in the first wizard in war, she lost both of her brothers, and she just lost one of her sons, and she was not about to lose anyone else, either especially her only daughter.
The piece of glass was a gift from Sirius at the start of The Order of the Phoenix. It was a two way mirror and Siriious had the second one. If he ever wanted to talk to Sirius he should have been able to just use the mirror and have a good ol' chat. Thing is: he forgot about it, forgot he had it. The whole running into the ministry of magic thing could have been avoided if he just remembered he had the mirror. Harry smashed it after Sirius' death, after finding that he could not contact Sirius's spirit using it. Dumbledoors brother Aberforth ended up with Sirius's end of it, and it was Aberforth who sent Dobby to them in the Malfoy dungeon when Aberforth saw them in trouble.
You said back in Half Blood Prince that you wished Draco turned good at the end. If you want a really cool deep-dive into that kind of plotline, you should look up the SuperCarlinBrothers series called "If Harry Potter Was In Slitherin". It comes in 7 episodes, one for each book...OR in two 2-hour supercuts. Both are amazing theory-crafting and great supplementary materials.
Easily the best reaction to the series I've seen so far, all the other reactors either cut out the best parts in the movie, are straight-up oblivious to big plot points because they wouldn't stop talking or just not entertaining at all, but you sir are observant, you've predicted many of the plot points right just based off what you watched before, you're hilarious and you don't cut out the best scenes of the movie LOL
Your question about the mirror is not stupid at all since they never explained it in the movies. Essentially Sirius and James used to use those mirrors while they were in school to talk to each other from separate detentions. Sirius gave James' mirror to Harry before his death but, when Harry realized he couldn't use the mirror to speak to Sirius now that he was dead he shattered it. Before leaving the Dursley's in the last film Harry was cleaning his trunk and found the shard and kept it with him throughout their journeys to find the Horcruxes.
After the Elder Wand passing through many owners, it ended up with Grindelwald, and was taken off him by Dumbledore. It had a long and violent history, because it was so desirable, and many killed to own it, although that was not necessary. It was made of Elder wood (of course) with Thestral hair core. Good on Harry for snapping it I reckon.
21:40 Yeah well ... maybe if you had read the books you'd have known about the FOUR HOUSE GHOSTS (every house has one ... and they are all connected in their life's story). Sadly the movies ignored them after the first two movies. 25:50 One "borrowed" minigun could make a few "problems" disappear ... since they are all channeled down that narrow path of the bridge ... but then: WHY ARE THEY RUNNING? Did all of them fail their -driving ...- err "apparition test"? 26:10 "Robots" = Sci-Fi, "golems"/"moving statues" = Fantasy
Helena Ravenclaw's story is really interesting, why she is there, why she is hiding and why she actually wants the diadem to be destroyed. I hope you will find the time to read the books some day.
I just found your channel and watched all your HP reactions. They’re gold with all that brilliant discernment of yours (Lupin a warewolf, Harry a horcrux etc.), plus your takes are fun to watch, a grown man discovering Harry Potter! I’ve looked at the other comments to see if anyone mentioned a big win for Neville that you missed because you talked through it, but nope. So when they’re all frantically running around Hogwarts trying to find the remaining horcrux (before Harry learns it’s the snake), he runs into Neville on the stairs, who says to him: “if you see Luna, tell her I’m mad about her!” Then we see the scene at the end, after the battle, when Luna comes over and sits next to Neville and they smile poignantly at each other. Neville gets the girl! (In the books, she ended up with Dean Thomas, but I like her better with Neville.) Cheers!
I will always be upset they cut the scene of Draco throwing his wand to Harry and running to the hogwarts side. Also the actress that played Narcissa, Helen McCrory, passed away recently. She was also brilliant in Peaky Blinders
Can you please in any way shape or form show me where in the book this idea is even hinted at! Otherwise there's a HUGE reason it isn't included and is only mentioned by dracofans!!
When you noticed crabbe was a different actor it was in fact a different character all together the actor for crabbe got fired after being in trouble with the law. Neville parents are alive in the books you meet them I’m the order of the phoenix. Harry didn’t die he nodded when narcissa asked if Draco was alive. Glad you enjoyed the world of Harry Potter ❤😊
Neville's parents were not "killed" by Bellatrix. They were driven completely insane. Neville still visits them in hospital every summer. They do not recognise him. Its one of the more heart breaking parts of the book.
34:54 Oh my goodness, seeing you trying to figure out the true meaning of Snape's memories while somewhat convinced he may actually be Harry's father is cracking me up!😂 Your reactions have been a delight. Hoping you continue with Fantastic Beasts and the 20th anniversary documentary.
40:10 For some people "living in MINIATURWUNDERLAND" (the biggest toy train set on the planet in Hamburg) would be considered "heaven". Snape was MEAN to kids ... but he ALWAYS PROTECTED THEM! If he was evil he might have had some "let fall in a ditch by the wayside".
Omg I HATE how they wrote Narcissa's line. She says "Draco, is he alive?", which makes EVERYONE confused thinking she's talking to Draco somehow. It should have been "Is Draco alive?" Narcissa betraying Voldemort in the hopes of saving her son is one of my favorite moments in this movie, specially because it's the second time mother's love ruins Voldemort's plans.
The best piece of music in this is when they're securing the castle, it's called Courtyard Apocalypse and it's hauntingly beautiful and sad...my notification sound as well. 💔❤
God bless you😭 always wanted to get that Soundtrack. Love this scene and the starting of the music… ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2Tpb1XyqGOQ.html
Okay a couple of back ground bits, and please feel free to correct any If I get any wrong. 1 Dumbledore senior was imprisoned for assaulting three Muggle boys who beat and harassed Ariana so bad that she never used magic again, 2 Albus didn't kill the original brother who held the elder wand, he is descended from one of the brothers as is Harry and I think Voldy, 3Nevilles parents were tortured into madness by Bellatrix her husband and Barty Crouch Jr. The movie made a mistake, they showed Helena Ravenclaw not Rowena. The grey lady is Helena, Rowena's daughter who was murdered by the bloody Baron (The Slytherin house ghost. Also did you notice that when Minerva and Snape were duelling, Snape never fired back and deflected the blast at the Carrows knocking them out before fleeing?
1 Percival Dumbledore (Albus' father) never killed the muggles. He just attacked them. 2 Dumbledore wasn't a descendent from one of the brothers. He just got the wand from Grindelwald who got it from Gregorovitch. Voldemort and Harry they really are descendents. 3 The movie never made that mistake. It was Helena who that character was meant to be.
Couple of notes incase no one else has commented already; Snapes patronus was the same as lily because he was obsessed with her, they defs weren't soul mates. And James Potter WAS a jerk in school, but, if I'm remembering right, lily didn't give him the time of day until he matured and got over his bratty phase.
I'm glad you enjoyed watching the series! A couple suggestions for things to watch next are Pirates of the Caribbean movies (there are up to 5 at the moment) and V for Vendetta.
All this time Harry had 2 of the 3 deathly hallows items and nobody even knew it even harry himself didn't know it, dumbledore held the third, harry didn't come in contact with the elder wand until the first part of the movie, and everything came together at the end when harry explained why the elder wand didn't work for voldemort Also a bittersweet moment at the end: first movie Nobody saw harry off to hogwarts Second movie Harry and ginny sees their kid off you could argue mama weasely saw harry off but she wasn't his legal guardian
Yes I said so ..... this serie is like a big puzzle .... you put every pieces together to have the finish........ (it is even more so in the books) To tell you the truth, for the last book I had to purchased 2 of them so my son and I could read it at our pace LOL ... No way was I waiting for him to read it to have to finish that story. I was on vacation in Boston and I read the whole week I was there instead of visiting (tourist). I put my time and effort into cafe reading.
If you're thinking of checking out the books, there is the illustrated versions which are beautiful. But I highly recommend the audio books narrated by Stephen Fry, it's a delight to listen to!
Snape and Lily are not soulmates the reason that he has the same Petronas is because he loved her your Petronas takes the form of the person you love, you need to read the books because this is explained really well with Tonks and Remus with her Petronas taking the form of a wolf because she loves him, the movies leave out so many details. Like for example Voldemort did not die the same way he did in the movie, he died like a normal person in the end in the books, also the special wind did not get destroyed it laid in Dumbledore‘s term with him so it would die with Harry. The movies to do a great job with a lot of the books, however nothing beats the books when it comes to details, there are so many things left out in the movies that are so important to the plot And overall story, that just weren’t covered in the movies because they didn’t have enough time, so I definitely recommend reading the books next!
The movies had to simplify the characters, and I will say very little else because I don't want to spoil the books, should you choose to read them, but no, James was not a one-dimensional dick, and Snape was not a one-dimensional hero. They were both flawed and human, as are all the characters - even Voldemort. It's all about choices...
@@Cinesta76 which makes me think of that scene in Secrets of Dumbledore where they use crystal balls in a fight (i know the movie is shit, but I love the duel scenes)
The person who brought the Sword of Gryffindor to Harry was someone with a doe for a patronus. Someone who would have had access to the Sword and been trusted to give it to Bellatrix... Every time the last film of the series shows Fred & George and Remus & Kingsley in that momentary calm before the battle starts in earnest, I think of Matthew 24:40-42. Look it up; tell me I'm wrong.
Bellatrix Lestrange didn’t kill Nevils parents she tortured them by kruciatus curse till they lost them mind😢 and they’re still in Sanmungus hospital. Cannot even recognize them son.
Voldemort was wrong in his belief that a Wizard had to kill to get the allegiance of the victim's wand. Wands' allegiance moves to power, to strength; it's like they lose respect if you can't maintain possession of them. So all you have to do is unwand your opponent in a wand duel to win over the allegiance of the loser's wand. Dumbledore manipulated his demise to obfuscate who was the master of the Elder Wand. He knew Tom Riddle well. He knew Tom would think the one who kills the wizard wins the wand. He knew Draco would come to kill him, but hesitate, because he knew killing did not come easily to him. So Dumbledore drew his wand for Draco to unwand him of it, making him the Master of the Elder Wand. Then Snape carries through the double promise to kill Dumbledore (promised Dumbledore, promised Narcissa), obscuring who the actual Master of the Elder Wand actually was. Later, Harry unwands Draco, and the Elder Wand changes allegiance to Harry. The Wand may have been interred with Dumbledore, but it was by the point Voldemort retrieves it Harry's to use. There is every likelihood that Dumbledore knew a LOT about what was going on. How he knew is a mystery, but there is every evidence that he knew more than he was telling. He still found occasional pieces he didn't know, but he was constantly taking in and thinking through information to extract the greatest amount of understanding possible. I believe Dumbledore tried to save the child Tom Riddle, not just as charity but to avoid him becoming an obscurial and a great danger to others. Dumbledore's sister became an obscurial and eventually killed their mother. Dumbledore not only failed trying to help his sister, but failed trying to help Tom Riddle. It's possible Tom was responsible for more deaths as a trained wizard than as an untrained obscurial. I believe Dumbledore spent the rest of his life dedicated to correcting his mistake. The thing is, magic is a delicate and nuanced discipline. It's founded upon psychology: motivation, manipulation, information, timing, emotion. On the level Dumbledore worked, it's a multi-dimensional tapestry. All the harder when you're empathetic, and I have no doubt Dumbledore cared about all the people he knew. It was to his credit to try and help Tom Riddle, but Tom was a bomb that was always destined to go off in wholesale destruction.
Dumbledore was a bit of a dick, at least in the beginning, but he knew that Harry could survive by the time he died. If you don't want to read the books, you could watch Dumbledores Big Plan by SuperCarlinBros - it's a great summary of what Dumbledore was doing
I don't think King's Cross was meant to represent heaven, but rather more of a limbo type of place. A train station is a liminal space, a transition point from one destination to the next. I think if Harry had boarded a train, the train would have taken him to heaven. He chose not to Go On though, so we never get to see what heaven would have looked like for Harry.
Yes, the devil's in the details. In the end, when Harry's son Albus enters the train, a chocolate frog jumps at the window glass. In the first movie, when Harry opens a chocolate frog for the first time, it escapes from him that very way. The cycle began anew
So funny because Harry’s son, ASP, does actually end up in Slytherin. You’ll have to read/see cursed child for more on that. 😉 Loved watching these reactions! There are SO many details left out, but an important one is that James wasn’t really a dick. He was a bully as a kid, but he grew to be a respectable young man. He had many reasons to hate Snape.. I mean who wouldn’t hate a guy who is creepily obsessed with your girlfriend, called her a racial slur, and is known to be messing around with dark magic while hanging with straight up evil people. BUT, Snape does have an amazing arc, and he’s such an interesting grey character! Have fun rewatching, because they just get better and better the more info you know/remember.
After I finished reading The Deathly Hallow's book I went and re-read it and kept a tally of every death in the book from muggles in the news papers to major characters like moody. Final count was 66 and that is not being able to take a full count for the Battle of Hogwarts.
I know you won't see this, but the train station is like Harry's purgatory. It's like he's in limbo, its not his actual afterlife. The lady he asked for help, does eventually help him
I like to think that people saw James in Harry because they wanted to do so, not because James Potter was actually there. Granted, my headcanon is weird - but as I detested James Potter throughout the novels and always wonder at that peculiar human tendency to see what we want to see, especially when powerful emotions are involved, I 'play' that Harry actually was Snape's son. Sirius was not likely to have an unbiased memory or opinion of his best pal but would be motivated to see remnants of him in Harry. We humans don't really like to see our own actions as petty, morally questionable or even cruel, and it always seemed to me that the justifications for James Potter's treatment of Snape were partisan accounts that quite failed to justify any of it. But then again, I am myself a hopeless romantic and a sucker for the 'beauty and the beast'-story (albeit in the vein of Jane Eyre and NOT the Disney travesty with Emma Watson), and the Lily/Severus relationship was just complex and tragic enough to inveigle me.
How do we know all that information? Let me paint you a personal picture: I first got into the books when only 3 of them were out. Immediately after, GoF was published, so I read that, and then had to wait 3 years for the next one, and then 2 years, and then another 2 before finally learning the end of the story. What does one do in the intervening time? Re-read the books, of course, as well as joining discussion forums where we make our predictions (and finally getting around to reading The Lord of the Rings). So yeah, we know every detail. Imagine if you had had to wait 7 years just to finish watching these movies...
Snapes Patronus is the same as lillys because when you fall in love your patrons can change to match the person you fall in love with. This is explained in the books when Tonks' Patronus changes to a wolf when she falls in love with Lupin. However, Lily wasn't in love with Snape since he calls her a mudblood after socialising with the other Slytherins.
Great reaction! Really hope you watch the Fantastic Beasts films next. I promise they’re not as bad as some people say they are. Also, I’m pretty sure you’ll like the protagonist in those movies way more than Harry, haha. 😂
The time turners unfortunately all got destroyed in the order of the phoenix. Jk Rowling needed a way to get rid of them so they couldn’t be used in future movies because how overpowered it would be. So when they’re in the ministry in the order of the phoenix and all the prophecies are getting destroyed off the shelves it’s said that all the time turners were also in that room.
snape's was a doe cause of his 'love' for her james's was a stag aka a mate for lily nevilles parents aren't dead they were tortured to the point of insanity they are in the wizarding hospital mental health wing
They replaced Crabbe with Blaise Zabini in the film, in the books it is crabbe and goyle with Malfoy in the Room of Requirement. Buuuut the actor that played crabbe turned out to be a sex pest or something so they changed it. They didn't just randomly recast Crabbe as a black guy.
Harry Potter fanfiction can answer any "What if?"...My personal favorites are Dumbledore bashing (raising Harry like a pig to slaughter) and a Harry/Hermione romance. I have read many stories that have Snape paired with Lily, or Snape rescuing Harry and blood adopting him so Harry becomes Snape's biological son, etc. Something for everyone!
