Sounds like Thomas had a lot of emotional maturity to understand his Dad so well, despite the lack of apology. His Dad came from a generation brought up with certain ideas of manhood that required men to appear strong in all situations, which served him well in WW2. So it was a kind of breakthrough that he admitted his fear to Thomas when telling him the story, which is a kind of apology for his previous doubts.
My dad was the same. Any such stories I appreciated because I knew he had courage behind it with a leap of faith to confide in his daughter. I miss him.
I am always amazed that people trust their tents to protect them from dangerous and threatening sounds outside. It seems like you would have a much better chance of protecting yourself if you got out of your tent so you can see what you are dealing with. If the noise is a bear or other predator, it will attack you in your tent anyway and you won't be able to defend yourself.
Another amazing post!! And only Chris, who hikes all over every day of the week and twice on SUN, can say with a laugh and to -the-fact that he's thinking of buying an inflatable cabin, lol...how funny and yuppie at the same time! Hey, in thinking of your family one thing that is missing from your walks and posts is a pet to tag along. I can just see you with a big fluffed-out-cat hiking the Sierras! For folks that haven't seen the posts with your parents you gotta check them out! So much fun you had as a kid. Happy Holidays to your folks, bestie and the rest of your family - from Colorado!
Chris I have a t-shirt idea! You should make a shirt that says "drop it in the creek" or something similar because you are always saying that when you put your beer in a creek. It's kinda became one of your catch phrases. I'm super glad you are finally going to do some merch. I will definitely be buying some stuff!
As I listened to your story I realized that Thanksgiving of 1978 I also saw one in southern Mississippi at DeSoto National Park . This one I actually saw an was solid white.
Merry Christmas , Chris . I appreciate your parting comments about people believing encounters ,I've seen two , right out in the open , not ten ft from me . For yrs I didn't care whether anyone believed me ( they were kind enough not to say anything negative ) but the older I get I wish someone else would see one , in my family , so they would know for sure .
I feel the same. I saw a lake monster and people didn’t openly mock me. No doubt some 🙄 but it’s ok. I was lucky enough to see it along with another lady I didn’t know.
Chris, I've heard so many testimonies from people about their Sasquatch experiences thanks for this episode and sure look forward to your next. Where do they fit in in this planetary race? I wish they would hurry up and be acknowledged and recognized.❤
My 80 yr old sister just told me recently she saw one on our homestead when we were young. I believe her! Growing up, I always felt like I was being watched when out in our woods.
Love these vids every week. Look forward to the stories and latest beer. Got Mom and Dad parked on the couch for an afternoon of Camp Chris. Btw, Mom loves your little camper. She wants one for Christmas 😁
Chris you're the best on RU-vid. Your channel is growing so fast, I look forward to seeing you reach 1 million subscribers. I tell everyone I know to subscribe and they won't regret it 🙂👍
Oh gosh, BCC, I tell ya, I work every Sunday night here as a armed female security officer and my post is right next to the Truckee River. The only critters I deal with are two skunks, a family of three raccoons, some feral cats, and occasional (sad to say) homeless folks, but thank goodness, no Cryptids or Bigfoots! At night its eerie to say the least but I love the sound of the rushing Truckee! My favorite part has always been when you pop that top on the beer flavor of the week! Since I'm always working all I can do is use my imagination and go, Ahhhhhhh, right along with you! That, and a great story just makes my night! Love the outdoors, too, and getting anxious and ready for some ice fishing at Frenchman's here soon! Thank you for all your efforts and storytelling. KH and cheers!
Another great story tonight. I can’t believe Thomas’ father hit the Bigfoot in the leg with his shotgun and nothing happened to him after that. Can’t wait for u to our merch to be available for us fans. How exciting for you. Merry Christmas Chris and Happy New Year too!!!
His dad had ever so slightly & partially acknowledged his son, it was enough to have validated Thomas's encounters. That Honey Island swamp is a busy cryptid spot for sure! Yes, its important and shows real true friendship when someone says they "believe in you". Not expecting the recipient of the hearer or listener to accept what happened as factual, just being there to support your friend means the world. Merry Christmas to both you and Jeanette 🎄
Great story Chris, thank you. This is what I go through too, everyone doubts me and it is hurtful and annoying. You have been one of the only people to really listen to it and acknowledge it. Love your channel and looking forward to the merch!
If I were to have an encounter with a Bigfoot, I would hope that my family and close friends would believe me when I told them about the encounter. I think that they would have enough faith and trust in me that they know I would not spin a tall tale on something like that. I was in the military, a form of law enforcement and later a newspaper reporter. I'd be a mix of hurt and pissed off if they at least didn't trust me enough to at least accept that I had an encounter that was scary and could not explain. Also, don't tell me its a damn bear. I've seen enough Black Bears over the years to know how they behave. Merry Christmas Chris. I just started watching your videos rather recently. I enjoy and like the way that you do them. That beer you had tonight sounds like a good one.
Good story. I really appreciate your comment about listening to unusual stories from someone, especially a loved one, without judgenent. That is very encouraging. Strange stories are not just about bigfoot!
That series of stories was fantastic....some people who don't believe someone when they tell them of their experience...I guess it takes for them to have one their own to become a believer
Merry Christmas Chris! My dad loves listening to your stories and got me hooked now. 😊 Excited to give him a gift this year for Christmas from your shop.
Merry Christmas to you Chris and your family and you all have a safe, healthy and Happy New Year. Ps, thanks for all the great stories and all the history you research and share with us. I really like the history about the pony Express, the mountain men and any other history stuff. Keep up the good work
Thanks for another great video. I think sometimes they say they doubt or don’t believe, simply because they don’t want to acknowledge that it might be true. So it’s a deliberate choice more than what they actually think deep down. They’re gaslighting themselves.
This was an interesting series. I like it that you encourage friends and families to support people who've had experiences with something that was scary and out of the ordinary. Having the experience is hard enough and then being laughed at or not believed makes it more difficult. As always, enjoy your posts here! Merry Christmas! Keep hiking!
That was verry poinient so heartfelt you said it beautiful its great to be a good listener& compationate for each other THANKS CHRIS❤🤠 HEAR YA TOMMOROW?
Always look forward to Sundays and the new video. Have a Merry Christmas and also have you ever thought of having like maybe a longer storytelling video? I've seen a video or two of yours where you have a few stories in them but have you ever thought of doing a video a couple of hours long almost like a Story Time movie LOL anyways loved the encounter tonight and it's always great when someone else experiences things that you do so they know what you went through etc and that's in every facet of life as well
Good to know you're find, I thought something was not right whe. I checked in earlier. Good luck with your gear Chris. Interesting end to the trilogy....what a brave man his Father was to survive by ditching ship. Wishing u, Jeanette and your folks a merry holiday. 🎉🌲💚
Great story telling. You make the stories like your their. Can’t wait for the next one. Plus I wish you the very best, For the the holiday week. God bless you and your family.
Thank so much Chris. The story was awesome I don't know if I could Hit Bigfoot and get away with it. Lolo Happy Holidays and one more year with Excellent Segments. Very Appreciated. 🌲🎄🏔🎁
Merry Christmas, Chris! Great 3rd story about Thomas. I can't fathom not being believed by the people you most love and trust. His Dad was lucky the creature left, and it appears this creature taught the dad a lesson about trust. Stay well, and I look forward to your upcoming stories. 😊
Hola Chris I enjoyed your story. Thank you for taking us along just amazing like always. Chris have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.Love and God bless.♥️💕❤️🙏🙏🙏👍✌️😇🌲🎉
Merry Christmas Chris to you and your family. Thank you for the intriguing and fascinating tales of Sasquatch. From Northern BC along the coast north of Powell River living on an old wooden boat.
I live in South Mississippi, close to Pearl River We were always told as kids to never camp in the swamps because of the hairy monsters it can be very creepy out there
I have property about a mile from the pearl river. As a child I wasn't allowed close to the treeline!!! After my dad passed I went for a walk in the woods. The silence was like being in a horror film. No insects made noise, birds nothing! Just silent!
@@itscoldinwinter1 We were never brave enough to do it. I can only imagine how creepy it would seem out there. I will probably have a heart attack if I seen something out there like that lol.
Thank you Chris for telling Thomas' dads story as well as Thomas's own stories & encounters...Very enjoyable listening to you (as always) I really like that enamel mug...👍👍 Wishing you & yours a very Merry Christmas & the Halpiedt New Year EVER! KEEP HIKING 🎄❄️🎄🧑🎄☃️❤️🙏🕯️🧑🎄❄️
Chris, I really like the way you looked in the dictionary for the meaning of “vindicated.” Perfect word for this situation. It was great having this 3-part serial about Thomas and Sasquatch to look forward to over the passed weeks, and you brought to us a really good ending where his Dad experienced “knowing” for himself. Knowing is experiencing, believing is faith. Hurrah for Thomas!! 😊😅 Merry Christmas, Chris and Jeanette, and to your loved ones too. Kiwi Linda 🥰🌝🌲🥃
