2012 Camaro ac evaporator case was removed without removing windshield like service manual says to do it. #evaporatorcase #autorepair #acnotworking #chevrolet #camero
Thanks for the video. Have an 11 SS just preparing for when it does break apparently a super common issue. Id rather cut the bolt method instead of cut the box like everyone does, looks much more professional.
Doing a heater core in my 11 ss right now, the passenger side can be cut with a sawzall (Milwaukee cordless is what I used) then you don’t have to pry on it.
@@scottbrown1341your luck I called Chevy this morning and the told me 3500 is the lowest estimate and if they break the windshield in the process I’ll have to pay 200-800 for the windshield they broke
This is a good example of engineered obsolescence ! The OEM figures that the cores or blend door will last just past warranty (6=7years) and by then you'll have it payed off. And instead of paying the crazy amount of labor it requires to change these, you'll just trade it in on a new one !
Why would u ever remove a dash and windshield! Seriously, that dashboard will never be tight and it will rattle. I have a 2015 SS and my mechanic is going to CUT the plastic for me. Who cares, u can't see the cut, also that part is going to break again, so I asked my mechanic to.not seal.the.trap door. I know my replacement part will break after 4 new england winters, plastic goes hot and cold.and gets brittle. NO way I would remove a windshield, cut that plastic baby
Have to bring the car together my car will not start something is wrong with the antitheft system. Anybody else have this issue and if so what was the fix.
I’ve been quoted 3200, sucks because this is literally the only thing wrong with my paid off 2011. But they quoted me to replace my heater core since they’re in the area and for a new windshield because I have a crack going across. So I’d need to replace it. But that’s the least of my worries.
The price of a new one...2nd mortgage imo and no where what they are actually worth and cost for them to make...choices on what you want to pay for. My son is a mechanic...he has done a ton of these types of projects. Money maker for him yes...and as I said...buy new/used...up to you. My 2002 Chevy Silverado 4x4 LS 195K, self mod Heavy 1/2. With that maintenance/upkeep...still drives and operates like new. The money buying it that truck and keeping it on the road still comes no where close to what they want for these new vehicles these days. Your choice.
these engineers must get incentives to really conjure up these designs.. i mean its all across the manufactures… trash.. all if them.. were they not embarressed , when the typed up “remove windshild” to service evap core, blend door, etc…. gtfooh
30 dollar, cheap plastic door. And dealers want 3,900 😢. I would NEVER pay a dealer that money, and you KNOW that dash board will NEVER be a snug fit, guaranteed dash rattles. I personally cannot just drive a car with no heat or a.c. sorry, I want a functional fukkkin.car. I was so mad when I first learned my heat broke, and mechanic ordered new blower, of course it was NOT needed, they found blend door. Mechanic first said we cant get part, discontinue [ he didn't want the headaches], but I found Part and a mechanic friend has a agreed to do the "hack" for me. I will still pay at least a thousand bucks [my guess, or maybe 750], but at least 🤷 its not 3900 f*cking dash and wind shield removal
😢 and it's over for v8 camaros, I am certain dodge and Ford will ditch pony cars. Even if u have a camaro, good luck keeping it alive with parts. 😢sad,my American sports cars are dead. I will cling on to my 03 and 15 camaros
