It's always a treat to see one of my puzzles featured on the channel! Please allow me to reassure you that your brain is not porridge! Nabner logic is quite unusual and this puzzle forces you to become very familiar with it. I had to play around with Nabner lines for a long time before I felt I had learned enough to design this puzzle. And even if you felt like you were slowly "boing"-"boing"-ing your way through the puzzle, you did find all the major intended deductions! When we consider the extreme sums on a region sum line, we typically place all consecutive extreme digits on it - but in this puzzle that often would leave only the other extreme digits (which are also all consecutive) for a nearby Nabner line, breaking the Nabner rule. So this puzzle was all about finding the most extreme sums for region sum lines that still leave valid digits behind for the Nabner lines. You correctly noted that once certain digits were taken away, the remaining digits in a box could form consecutive pairs, and some Nabner lines could only take one digit from each remaining pair of consecutive digits. Taking the 7s off lines at 25:50 and 30:55 were key moments, as was the logic at 32:29 to place the 2 on the Nabner line, which is probably the hardest deduction in the puzzle. I was also very pleased that you found the logic at 41:49 using the 2-cell Nabner line. That was absolutely an intentional step in the solve path, even though that 2-cell Nabner line isn't strictly necessary for a unique solution. But it was such a nice way to resolve the sum of the long region sum line that I left it in hoping some people would find it. Even the design of this puzzle was exceptionally hard to complete (you may have noticed the plethora of unresolved pairs and triples near the end)! I believe the Nabner line in box 5 is the ONLY possible orthogonal Nabner line of length 4 or less that can be placed entirely in box 5 that results in a unique solution to the puzzle and I nearly had to scrap the ending of this puzzle before I found it. Since neither region sum lines nor Nabner lines enforce any sort of restriction on the permutation of the digits on them within a box, I had to force the final placement of each digit through geometry alone - hence the need for such a densely clued grid! Only 11 cells in the entire grid are not on a line, and 5 of those are in the middle box which isn't useful until the very end of the puzzle! Thank you again for the wonderful showcase, Mark. I always feel a bit of imposter syndrome whenever one of my puzzles pops up on the channel. I look up to many of the setters featured here and I sometimes wonder how anyone could possibly make such beautiful and intricate designs. But I continue to iterate and polish every puzzle that I publish and push myself as a setter to try ideas that previously terrified me, and moments like this make me think that just maybe I am doing something right. 🥲 Hope you have a good one!

This was a great puzzle, and although I don't consider myself an amazing solver I was able to work through the logic and solve in just over an hour. I LOVED the aspect of working all the way around the grid, and the necessity of doing that helped encourage me to keep deducing :)

Thanks for a wonderful and amazing puzzle! A nice hour and a half jog around the board with you holding my hand the whole way. I used to feel that 4 cell or less nabner lines were almost useless, but you showcase them brilliantly here! It forced me to see the nice logic that losing one of the extreme digits suddenly make them more powerful, and even then, having them force a reduction on sum lines due to having to parry off digits into groupings, i.e. one from each group for the two lines, sum and nabner...another sublime piece of logic. I love it!

I definitely didn't get on as quickly as Mark or some others in the comments section, but I feel very accomplished having finished such a difficult and beautiful puzzle! I've seen a number of puzzles like this over the years that work their way around the grid, but I think this is my first solving such a one. Thanks for featuring!

44:17 Some really clever bits in this one. The nabners always seem to leave so many possibilities, yet also are so restrictive. It helps to note then when you get a nabner where you're limited to one from each remaining available pair (e.g. 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, on a 4-cell nabner with 9 accounted for elsewhere) that placing any even means all higher pairs are even, and placing any odd means all lower pairs are odd. This can make it quicker to sift through some possibilities and start ruling out (or in) some digits.

I finished in 71 minutes. I started off real strong on this puzzle, finding the break-in and expanding out to reveal more clues. Unfortunately, I made a slight error when doing the nabner in box 9 and disregarded 6 as a possibility. I had to skim the video to see where I went wrong and was disappointed in myself that I missed that. I should really slow down and double check. Otherwise, this was an incredibly fun puzzle to solve. Great Puzzle!

Feel pleased with finishing in 56:41. Anytime I'm close to Mark's speedy solves is an achievement. Overall the way the Nabner lines and region sum lines interacted was interesting, unique, and not immediately obvious. It took careful thinking to solve and even then I made a couple minor mistakes that were immediately recognized.

*Nabners* are interesting and this puzzle does _"glorious, glorious stuff"_ with them 😏👍👍👍👍👍 I am not very familiar with them, and I am looking forward to learning more about them by solving some more nabner-based variants. Today I learned two generalizations about nabner lines: 🔹 For any nabner line that joins *N* cells, if only *2N* consecutive candidates are available, the line must contain 1 digit from each _"consecutive pair."_ For instance, if *N=3* and the available candidates are *1-6,* the _"consecutive pairs"_ are *1-2, 3-4,* and *5-6.* 🔹 More obviously, if only *2N-1* consecutive candidates are available and they are from *a* to *b,* the line must contain *a, a+2, a+4, ..., b*

Normally one feels good having got through the logical path to the solution but this puzzle frustrated me quite a bit and made me wonder if it was time well spent. I did realize the setter was super intelligent to have come up with it.
