T.E.D., I have conformed that the constant disk improper ejection of my external drives is not an issue with the Hagibis docking station. It was an issue with the power distribution from my computer. I have reset this and now having no issues. Thank you for your reply before. Really appreciate that. Thought you would like the positive feedback. Works great and is a good option for those of us that unable to afford a true Thunderbolt hub. 😊
@@marcopauloandal9632 to be honest, I don't really remember all the details of what I had to input in terminal to reset the power distribution for external drives. I would suggest calling apple support and asking them what the procedure is. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help. My Mac has been broken for over 6 months and been using a PC as a temporary until I fix it. It's in the shop now though. I'm also in between places and can't find my notes. Apologies.
Really great review TED, actually got me to buy one and it just came in today. I can’t seem to get Host A to work with any of my HDMI cables regardless if I have the power running through it or not.
I got the Hagibis 100 ultra and seem to have it working just about. Watching this video was way better than the little stupid manual you get. Now I don't know if I have a faulty one or I've set it up wrong or its not working properly so my issue currently: Host A connects to 1 extended monitor using the HDMI 60Hz port with Power and network When connecting to Host B, no internet, no power though I can extend to 2 monitors using using the HDMI 30Hz port and the display port. Personally if this is how it is meant to work, then it is pointless for me as I want to switch my set up between work and personal easily and to be able to use 2 or 3 extended monitors with network not wifi and power.
Reading through the comments I saw that host B is HDMI only, although I got the DP port to work. Maybe mine one is defective as Host A is seems to be HDMI only. This docking station has so much potential if only you just use Host A.
Good review. Now only i could figure out why it is over heating on the two 10GB USB ports in the back. I already lost one 2TB pen drive go bad when transferring data. Both ports cause extreme heat to the point I could barely touch one to pull out.
@@ToolsElectroDIY , exactly the same one. I wrote a email to support last night. Only seems to happen using those two 10gb on the back during Data transfer. To be fair, I am transferring about 7g at a time. Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate that.
Hi there. My dock can't seem to detect my external display. Tried switching ports, but it doesn't seem to work. Am using a Windows laptop, and any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated. Thank you.
@@ToolsElectroDIY i checked the cable i used and works fine if I directly plug it to my laptop. I also just got myself a 4K HDMI cable today to see if it would work if connected to the dock, but to no avail. Any suggestions? I am this close to calling my unit defective and having it returned/replaced
Hi y cant i use host A with the DP port and the rest of the port. I dont want to use the HDMI because my wide screen will be stretched. Anyway i can use host A with DP and other usb ports for mouse keyboard and all?
I have the same device, but only the LED lights turn on, it doesn't detect anything, I bought a 100w charger, and it doesn't work like that either, please help
I only have Mac mini M1 and don't have Mac mini M2. As far as I know, M1 can only support 1 external monitor per USB-C port. You will have to connect to both USB-C and HDMI port at the same time to get 2 extended monitors. Possibly with a USB-C to Display Port to get the 3rd extended monitor.
@@ToolsElectroDIY When I bought the same unit, it came with Thermal Grease. I am asking if you used it, and how to apply it for the SSD. Mine came with a stick of Thermal Grease and looks like a pencil Eraser.
