I totally missed when the sale started, I usually set a reminder and I forgot this time, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it was up in the middle of the afternoon. I was like wow, I guess they were telling the truth about printing a LOT of Mystery Booster 2.

Agreed. When collector boosters were announced, I was actually thrilled. After the 3rd set or so, though, I lost a ton of interest. When you open a foil rare or mythic now, it's mostly a shoulder shrug. I'd be on board with going back to draft boxes only.

It's the convention team handling this release, not the lair team. Fomo wasn't the sales goal like it is for most lairs, the goal is convention support and inclusivity for those who can't attend. It's a different set of goals squeezed through another team's sales portal, which makes it seem like it would have the same behavior.

The fact that this wasn't treated the same way as other secret lairs and had sufficient stock for everyone that wanted one to get it is great, my friend and I each bought one so our pod can get together and crack the packs when they ship.

Waited an hour but got one lol damn FOMO. Still a Lil confused about the spoilers cuz online it says 1800 cards in the set but I've only seen like 500 or something like that. Nothing to big like Mana Crypt or Fow etc makes me sad but I'm making a cube out of it for fun game nights.

It didn't fomo me. I took the money I was going to spend on it, and instead I went to the gym and pre-paid about 8 months on my account. I feel much better about that decision, new MTG has been a turn-off for me. I'm just burnt out from the onslaught of releases, I really haven't bought anything since MKM dropped. I'm happy with my collection, and I've basically put my focus on a few commander decks that I occasionally pick up obscure singles for or OG NM old bordered foils I find for cheap.

MB2 is a bad product that nobody is actually going to want long term. It only has a couple of desirable cards but in ugly white borders and future sight frames. I bet a lot of people who bought the product haven't done requisite research on what it is - it's a far cry from how great MB1 was. MB1 had more than 20 cards that were worth $20+, and they were all highly played and desirable cards in their original frames. MB2 has...urza's saga in an ugly white border and some cards seeing their first ever reprint that will crash. Horrible product.

Festival in a box didnt have value so scalpers had no reason the buy bulk of. This let regular people to buy leisurely. Sounds like the answer to the secret lair problem might just be implementing anti bot checks.

@Fufu0117 usually the folks crying scalper aren't to versed in the financial side of things... at all. The most popular creator believes every commander deck should come with 1000$ in reprints and be sold for $20.

@@Fufu0117 yeah and? As of right now there isnt anything that we know of thats worth chasing. If there isnt anything worth chasing like mana crypt in MB 1 people arent going to chase the dopamine rush. This then regulates MB 2 as a fun drafting box. Scalpers want massive iconic chase cards to price hike using peoples fomo. It doesnt matter if the packs are $65 is they are readily available for the public to play with and not to chase.
