Any dead cat frames you’d recommend for the new au, bro? I wouldn’t mind the demibot but I don’t want to wait. I want to be flying with my new air unit next week not looking at the unopened box waiting for a frame 🤷♂️
Been hearing a lot about the O3 units. I bought the DJI FPV because I wanted to experience FPV without having to build my own. I guess now is the right time to take the plunge with this!
Excellent video as always! this is amazing info and put together really nice. You were at the low end of the video length as far as what i have seen from other youtubers but you got all the important bits in and even went into things other youtubers didnt, with less time. Nicely done, very informative
Well, I have watched several pro's take on the new system. You are by far the best salesman for it, and have convinced me to eventually switch. Thanks!
Hey Tommy - Thanks for putting this together and sharing your views. I really liked the range test - cant wait to see it 'out on the road' with you (hope you hit some southwest shiznit soon). ---Peace!---
I stopped action cams with 1st DJI air units and only use frames with no props in view. I don't change tech very often. Looks like new air-unit & slimmer DJI radio in future maybe if Black Friday sale. I will continue to use my DJI2 googles until they no longer work then probably upgrade to smaller form factor. Nothing against GOPRO as I have the new 11 mini but not needing extra camera and prefer lower weight, longer flight (4S) time. Also the convivence of everything in one package makes build faster can do what enjoy most flying. Thank you for info yours was second I seen on this DJI 03
Super excited on the new system, looks like a nice step up! The one thing for me why the FPV cam will never work for freestyle is exposure handling. So many pilots prefer to lock their exposure settings and you just can't do that using the FPV system.
I like everything that this Air Unit has to offer except it doesn't record audio..I like prop noise so I'll still use a GoPro for the time being. Great review as always. 👍🏼
One thing about using a GoPro is that you can use the *same* GoPro across *all* your frames -- it's a one time cost. With the O3 you're paying to duplicate that 4K recording capability on *every* drone so unless you only have a few quads, the O3 option could be more expensive. The great thing about FPV though is... it's *ALL* good!
@@shadowofchaos8932 If I could afford one I'd buy one. DJI didn't send me one... I wonder why? It's also rather telling (so I hear) that DJI released this product in the colder months of the Northern Winter 🙂
GoPro are more bulky and tend to break a lot more compared to the flight cam because they are unprotected. Also repairing a GoPro is sometimes a major pain so it might be worth it to some people to get the o3 air unit
@@robertfpv7733 True... but GoPro offers that insurance thing which will replace a smashed unit for you. The O3 *will* be the best choice for some folk but other solutions will be a better solution for other folk. The great thing is that now we all have the choice!
Everyone complaining about backwards compatibility....it's been 3 yrs . This is technology. Could be worse...like an iPhone replaces every 6 months. Your not gonna want to fly your old vista's anyway once you have 1080p on OLED screens blazing your eyeballs.
Great Video as usual. I've still been using the dji fpv as well as the Avata. to have the Avata features on my own build id a game changer for sure. can go harder and faster knowing you have the parts and easily repair it if needed.😊
So it's been about 2 months since the O3 release. I bought the Flywoo LR4 explorer with o3 and also purchased one O3 system to retro fit into my emax babyhawk2hd. It will say that was a little tricky. I got everything mounted then realized I had a ton of jello in the onboard 4k recording. So I made some modifications to how the camera was mounted and booom no more jello! Freaking awesome. This was done with no additional parts. I did have to cut off the tips at the front of the top plate. They were in view in the ultra wide setting. Now it's perfect. It is probably my favorite every day flyer. It's small enough to fly at a park with some people around. But big enough to tear it up when you want to. I will say i am not a huge freestyle pilot.. But I do some tricks when cruising around. I know I tend to be more careful when flying with this camera. Not sure how much of. Beating it will take a d as for now. Dji is the only camera option.. I upgraded all my other vista's to the latest firmware so I can use the googles 2 with every quad. Soooooooo cool! With the oled displays the Vista video even looks a little better. I can definitely tell a huge difference in range between the vista's and the O3 air unit. Wowwwww. Thanks you dji for knocking this one out of the park!! Looking forward to what their next big move will be for us.. ???? COULD IT BE 4K IN THE GOOGLES.??? HOLY SHIT THAT WOULD BE MIND BLOWING LOL! One down side is my dad not being able to watch my flights in my beautiful oled fold4 with digiview. I hope they or someone is working on this issue!! Is there a way to share my live feed with someone that I don't know about other then another pair of googles!! Phew I'm done lololol
Oooooohhh yass❤ oh yass oooohhh yassss!!! This is the future of FPV mafriend, I know it! Then even the size of the drone will be better, imagine it on a cinewhoop, thankssaa
Always great content here! One day im going to build myself a new drone, (after having me whole kit ripped off by some little grub, miss my Acrobrat Duo) and seems i have an Avata now ill be going with the O3 air unit just so i dont have to buy a new set of goggles. Looks good. What ive been dreaming of since about 1990 when i tried to build my 1st FPV plane.
What’s up Tommy hope all is great, love the video. Was wondering if you are thinking of coming out with a frame for the new o3 unit or some new 3d parts for your 2fiddy frame? Please keep us posted.
I found this channel a long time ago because we both had the same hexacopter. Giant RXs and vtxs with airplane escs and I was flying off a screen. That was only 6-7 years ago seems longer
I was going to get a gopro for my drone but after i fly the avata i desided to get the new 360 cam. I feel that the 03 cam is perfect for me but if your doing drones for a living i can see using a gopro may still be needed
Thanks for the video!:D question: would you recommend getting a second receiver like a crossfire with a tango 2 pro ( just incase you lose connection with your o3 air unit ??? That way you only lose video but not control ... right ?? Or is there any other way to avoid crashing when losing connection?
IMHO, it's a game changer. I will not be flying with a go pro. Also, the fact it works with the RC 2, it's a no brainier for me. Kudos to DJI, they have sold me...I'm stoked. BTW, I'm a cruiser, not a racer so the little bit of latency is not a problem for me.
I think for freestyle, this is definitely a game changer. You don’t need cinema quality footage, and this thing is practically as good. Honestly this is the first time I’ve really felt like switching from analog. The weight savings alone is huge and the quality is finally what I expected the first generation to be. It would be great for the 3.5”-4” market too. A sub 250 3.5” with built in 4k recoding would be amazing. Idk how well it would fit, but I’d assume this would fit most places a vista would.
@@NOT_ANOTHER_FPV it's not the same. Not even close. The oled screens and 1080p make for an entirely different experience than v2 with 810p on lcd screens.
Have a question can the new dji v2 control be use to setup on flight control for wings or I will need to buy external dji receiver, for doing fpv on fix wings
If I wanted to use their FPV system for just my video transmitting, but also wanted to continue using my own radio transmitter, like a frsky taurus would I be able to do that, or do they force you to go completely into their ecosystem?
Looks Awesome! Still going HDZero. Much worse picture, way more control and community integration. Also closer to what I need for computer vision projects. Also whoop boards!
Come on man! 🤣🤷♂HDZero couldn't even fly around the first corner behind those buildings! Absolutely TERRIBLE penetration! Plus, you'd have all sorts of snow just getting to the first corner where you would undoubtedly get the RAINBOW WALL of blank screen! The image is so damn soft, you can't even begin to fly up in the trees canopy, like even the Vista can do just perfectly fine...I do it all the time and it's a total blast - exiting thick tree canopies through a little 8" x 8" gap! Incredible. I can't see a single reason why ANYONE would want to buy analog or HDZero (ANALOG2). Don't give me that lower latency crap as that is blown way, WAY out of proportion and actually doesn't make a bit of difference unless you are a very competitive racer and that's all you do.
@@KOrnhOliO1 as @xjet pointed out, a huge reason is that you’d have to buy multiples of these units for every quad or plane or system you own. With a GoPro, you just put it on the other quad, and it has insurance. As someone else pointed out - a huge issue with a one-camera system is auto-exposure. So many ppl want their exposure locked, meaning you’ll be blinded in bright areas or won’t see in dark areas, so this is an instant dealbreaker. And for me, I shoot a lot in 2.7K, 240fps in 10 bit colour with a GoPro HERO11 Mini - as far as I can tell - this system is nowhere near that. Otherwise, I use the 8:7 sensor to shoot 5.3K footage for both 16:9 and 9:16 application. Again… this system falls far short of that
super excited about this system....and... looks like Tinyhawk and DJI03 may be getting ready to have a baby. yeah buddy tinyhawk with dji03 fpv system - WHOOP WHOOP
You will always gonna have 2 cams on it. On the DJI O3 Air you gonna add a 8K UHD 60p Action Cam because the near future standard is 8K UHD for your 75" TV and 28" PC-Monitor.
My wallet just jumped out of my pocket, hopped up to my pc and typed race day quads and logged in to my account all on its own. Incredible, never seen it do that before. 😬 Awesome review, thanks for sharing.
