This was definitely one of the coolest Star Wars stories I've ever experienced. I certainly see how destroying the holocron makes sense. If the Empire were to ever find it, it would be of no use to them. I also understand why Cere thought rebuilding the Jedi Order was the solution to defeating the Empire, since she and Cal were unaware of the existence of Luke Skywalker. They probably didn't know that Obi-Wan, Yoda and Ahsoka had also survived the Purge.
"Save Ahsoka!" That was the quote of Obi-Wan when he told at Anakin to save Ahsoka, in the next episode he saves her Life, then on Malachor he hidden her from Palpatine and then he sacrifices himself killing that Old man Emperor and he let Ahsoka to Met his son Luke
Cal literally tells Merrin "I may be the one of the only ones of my kind left." And after the force-vision Cal has of the future where he gathers the children and what happens to them, the ending makes perfect sense.
Vader's actions across various Star Wars media are often very telling of what he thinks of the people he interacts with, be they subordinates or enemies. In this case, the fact that he granted Trilla a quick and painless death reveals that he thought highly of her and you can even detect a hint of sadness and regret in his voice right before he delivers the killing stroke. Usually he kills those who failed him in a slow and painful manner by Force-choking them. Then there is his fighting style. If he's fighting you one-handed, that means you are no threat to him and he doesn't take you seriously, hence he's toying with you. When he's holding the saber with two hands, however, that means that either: 1) He does take you seriously; or 2) Play time is over and the kid gloves are off, i.e. he's about to inflict a lot of pain and damage on you, like he did in the final part of his fight with Luke on Bespin. But even if he doesn't view you as a threat, the fact that he's using his own lightsaber to fight you is still a sign that he has some level of respect and admiration for you. In ep. 5 of Obi-Wan, however, he showed in no uncertain terms that he had neither for Reva and constantly rubbed it in her face - he relied primarily on the Force and one half of Reva's own saber, and to add insult to injury, he wouldn't even finish her off, instead opting to just wound her and leave her for dead.
"the fact that he granted Trilla a quick and painless death reveals that he thought highly of her and you can even detect a hint of sadness and regret in his voice right before he delivers the killing stroke." Um, you may want to rewatch that scene. Vader is disgusted that one of his Inquisitors not only failed to defeat a Jedi and keep the holocron, but that she expresses emotions that are not for an Inquisitor (empathy for Cere). When he kills her, it's like he's stepping on a bug. He is no way sad or has any regret from killing her. He sees her as an employee that is bad at their job and has no compunction about "firing" her.
I can tell you know nothing about darth vaders character. He’s a sadistic mass murderer. He’s literally described as a machine that comes to life when he takes a life. He’s killed children, he’s murdered majority of the Jedi. And he hurts anybody who slightly annoys him cause of his hatred and anger.
It was definitely Entertaining from start to finish. Love your gameplay plus the emotions along with it. What a wonderful story. Thanks for your Amazing gameplays throughout the series! High Five 🙌 Sarah!☺️
I love how emotional you got at the end, I did too! It's a great story, and up until Andor came out it was my favorite Star Wars story. Still my favorite Jedi story! And I'm so glad you didn't have the Vader reveal spoiled, that moment is incredible! And he's so scary! I can't wait for the next one!
I love this game, as well. I saw the trailer for Jedi Survivor and it looks fantastic! I just hope I can finally get either a PS5 or a better PC by the time it's released.
I love this game how they represent the one of the most feared being in the Galaxy as it is in the comics. BTW, Darth Vader's tactical guide is, "Few survive an encounter with the most powerful Sith in the Galaxy. Escape is the only chance of survival." 😉
@@thelazygamer1639 I’m not talking about fortress inquisitorius even (although they could have at least change some things there as well, kenobi entered the facility same way, exploded the window same way, etc). Reeva is pretty much the same as second sister only done poorly for example
this was an amazing playthru! and sarah got pretty slick with the combat skills towards the end when she'd force push the robot into trilla when it was about to explode. but yea, amazing LP esp considering shes a star wars fan.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the ride, have been waiting to see how your thoughts were by this final moments. Still stays with me over a year after finishing my first run. Very excited to continue watching your Ragnorok playthrough and see what you have store in the future!
Well done Snax. This game was a real rollercoaster ride of action, adventure and emotions; really looking forward to the sequel. Seeing Vader show up had my jaw dropped the first time, as expected lol, the man is just power personified, and they did an awesome job in capturing that sense of doom and hopelessness when dealing with him. I also really enjoyed the ending, and Cal's noble decision to leave the future of the younglings up to the force; a very Qui-Gon -esque move in some ways. In other ways, it's like saving them from becoming potential targets of the Empire early on, allowing them to have normal childhoods in peace as you mentioned, something past Jedi were essentially robbed of. You're absolutely right about the animated Star Wars media as well, they're truly amazing. I would actually be down for another animated movie if ever possible, especially after Tales of the Jedi. Really enjoyed this playthrough as a Star Wars junkie, and hope to see one again in the future. May the Force be with you. 😉🙏
The way they did that entire reveal scene was just perfect. Trilla is terrified the moment Vader got close. U can even se it in Cal when he responds to Vader, he knows he dosent stand a chans if Vader gets serious and he dosent even know who he is.
I thought Cal destroying the Holocron and leaving it to the Force was a good ending. Any Clone Wars era Jedi wouldn't have, they were too dogmatic. Which ironically, was something that led to the downfall of the Order.
Ok, I’m relieved I wasn’t the only one crying with this as I reached the end. This game is so rich, people should stop commenting on playability and graphics and just appreciate the richness of the content.
Also I feel your comments on family at the end. I'm from the UK and have lived in the USA since 2006. It gets harder each day, especially as my dad's health wanes.
i really have no idea why i find it funny vader just casually throws cere off with a single flick of his fingers and doesnt even look at her, and also when he fights her in the hallway.
Glad you stuck to the lightsaber you cared about the most and stayed with the red poncho because it's about the you can make him look for wardrobe. I think you made some excellent choices and had a lot of fun. 👌
Finally, we’ve reached the end! This was such a great playthrough! Not just because you’re really good at combat but because you clearly love Star Wars. I totally understand not wanting the game to end. I’ve done 4 playthroughs at this point and when I can finally afford a PS5 I hope to do a 5th one. Luckily, unlike the rest of us you won’t have to wait that long for Jedi Survivor. I think it’ll be only a few months. When I saw how you almost beat Trilla in the first try I was like “Damn, she’s gonna beat Trilla without experiencing her most devastating attack” which is the one where she holds you and drains you life force. You dodged that a few times. This move is such a cheat😅 In Jedi grandmaster difficulty it’s a death sentence. It doesn’t matter how much life you have. Unless you dodge it, you die. I’m really happy you didn’t know about Darth Vader. Unfortunately, when the game came out, literally the same day, there were videos on RU-vid with thumbnails spoiling it. I think that destroying the holocron was the best choice. It’s not like there’s a Jedi order, council or temple to bring these kids to. They would have been hunted down for years to come. I don’t think Grogu would be one of them. I think this refers to undiscovered force children. Grogu, at this point, has already received some training, has experienced order 66, as we saw in Boba Fett, and has been taken from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. As far as the Kenobi show is concerned, I have to say, even though I loved it, I’m slightly disappointed by the similarities between that and the game. Obi Wan basically did the same things Cal did. He infiltrated the fortress by swimming underwater, he broke the glass and used the water and even the lines between Trilla and Anakin are the same. Trilla’s “I am what Cere made me” and Anakin’s “I am what you made me” to Obi Wan. The game was written first. Couldn’t they have done anything more original? Not to mention that since the fortress was infiltrated and partially destroyed 5 years before the Kenobi events you’d think that would have reinforced security and those glass walls instead of allowing 2 different Jedis to wreak havoc in the space of 5 years. Anyway, I can’t wait for your Plague Tale Innocence playthrough!
Cal destroyed the holocron because of the force-vision he had in the vault. He knew that the Empire would eventually catch them, most of the kids would be killed, the remaining would be imprisoned and tortured, and Cal would become an Inquisitor.
Yeah I have always reminded me of "Joe Pepsci. He just has that look and voice 😄👍 . This has been a really an exciting playthrough with you "Sarah. I gotta say,you were kicking some serious ass throughout this entire playthrough. Very good stuff. I hope you have a blessed day.🍂🌷🍂
I feel the poncho only goes with outdoor segments, not this part of the story so I went without. iI also chose a yellow lightsaber since we haven't seen many with that colour beyond Bastila Shan, Jedi temple guards and Rey.
@@MetalMike38 Since Jedi go after new Jedi when they're young, we have no idea how old the people on this holocron are. Are they already old enough to be displaying Jedi abilities? Babies or youths? we don't know for sure.
IF the Jedi were real I think Snax would made a really good Jedi bc she's all about the good in the world and being positive about things. I can't wait for Fallen Order 2. I also wonder if we'll ever see any of these characters in live action. I bet we will.
When it comes to original characters (characters that weren't created during the first two trilogies) in my opinion two of the best stories are Jedi Fallen Order and Rebels. Both have a crew that was 100% made out of original characters both are right at the top of my list of Star Wars characters after watching/playing the projects. And the future looks pretty bright for them. The Rebels Crew will (at least mostly) seen in a live action show soon and a sequel for Fallen Order is in the works + I think it can only be a question of time until at least Cal makes his first appearance in a show, maybe even Live Action (they would definitely get through with it since his voice and motion capture actor was used to model his character-model and looks almost exactly the same + he is an amazing actor imo.)
After the Trilla fight when Darth Vader appeared and it was set into fighting him and I didn't see a health bar, I was like "HELL NAH!!" And actully tried to run instead of fighting but he grab me hahaha. It was a really epic finale. Playing this game was a great and fun experience, before playing, luckily enough, the only thing I knew was the Order 66 sequence becaue I saw it in other videos, but beside that I didn't know anything else related to the game. As I said in other coments, now I just can't wait for Survivors and play as Cal again
I wish they had included a health bar for Vader, just to trick you into thinking you would have to fight him. Just make the health bar as wide as the screen.
Even though you got to this game late af i'm still happy u got to it eventually cause i knew you were going to love this game girl lol, also watch the game awards 12-8-22 they are showing us the sequel to Star Wars: Fallen Order not sure if its just a trailer or gameplay but we are going to see something. :)
Actually it's on purpose usually! The lock on is a little quirky and feels limited to me. Sometimes I want to have the freedom to move quicker without having to worry about the lock on button. It lets me be able to attack at a better angles and range when I need when I'm not locked on. Downside is attacks missing tho lol
@@SnaxanGaming ah i see! this is bread and butter in the dark souls and elden ring games. yes this game is a bit rigid in that sense. if you ever get to play elden ring fully, you'll understand its even more important there cuz of the camera.
You're videos are the best! real emotions are not something all people can do or do, in gameplay videos. When you cry I do however want to give you the biggest hugs 🥺❤ I watched the whole series, and I will check out rest of you're gameplay videos too. Of course sub and liked 💓 I hope you will do series of "Jedi Survivor" that comes this March 2023, that is continue of saga of Cal Kestis 🔺
I agree the holocron should've been destroyed. I wish it had been alluded to earlier though. It felt very impulsive at the end destroying something that was so carefully created and the fight to retrieve it. No discussion or anything among the crew - there was some wasted potential there to show how the characters and their outlooks might've changed on the adventure. I think the severity of taking younglings to be jedi has far more severe implications in the empire controlled galaxy. Traditionally jedi would come to the parents of force sensitive children and make a case for sending them to the order and be a noble "peacekeeper". An order produced now would be nothing more than sentencing the majority of them to death.
Pretty much every dialogue with Merrin after she joins the crew is about this (even outside of cutscenes). There's a whole dedicated cut scene where they all sit around the table discussing it and when Merrin presses him Cal realises he's never really thought it through - that he's just been following Cere's lead. It's not exactly given too you; you have to read the subtext somewhat but it's pretty explicit through the delivery of the dialogue and the facial animation which is deliberately contrasted against Cere who has a confidence and clarity of purpose. There's also the whole Inquisitorius, tortured younglings dream sequence.
"I wish it had been alluded to earlier though. It felt very impulsive at the end destroying something that was so carefully created and the fight to retrieve it." I guess you skipped the scene in the vault where Cal has a force-vision of the future showing what would happen if he used the holocron to rebuild the Order - the Empire finds them, most of the kids are killed, Cal surrenders to save the remaining kids who are imprisoned and tortured, and Cal becomes an Inquisitor. Once Cal sees this, he knows that he cannot use the holocron to rebuild the Order - he has to keep it away from the Empire and destroy it.
the only one who can par up with Darth Vader other than Luke is Galen Marek aka Starkiller from Force Unleashed games....yeah i know its not canon but he is the only Force User to fight Vader without running...
8:45 "the obi series did a really good job creating this place" I know I'm late to the party, but the obi wan series was released after fallen order So fortress inquisitorius originated in fallen order (or some predecessorto fallen order) Never the less I've been enjoying your playthrough
Hi Sarah, as promised, I leave a detailed comment about this game based on the platinum received in the PS4 version. Plot and presentation:It is clear that the developers had to squeeze into the Procrustean bed of already existing episodes. But with the composition of people who worked on the plot, I still expected more. Well, you add a couple more minutes to the screensaver as the protagonist, for example, gets to the hiding place in which the teacher's sword is stored and he will not have to get it out of his ass (or maybe from under the folds of clothes under which he hid it all these years, carrying it with him even to work) getting involved in a previously lost battle.Show that the bug-eyed Jedi is really a wise teacher who has realized his mistakes. The witch is the most interesting and the most undisclosed character. Combat system:I am not a fan of souls mechanics, but even without being a master of such games, I will note that the action is just “broken” about the way it was in Darksiders 3 if at first it seems meaningful, you are a student who almost does not know how to do anything and it must be difficult, scary, etc. But with the acquisition of strength and pumping abilities, tactics become disgustingly monotonous, I threw everyone into the abyss with a push, I figured out the arrows (running in circles around those who are fighting close combat like an idiot)then he finished off the remaining ones. Boss fights are a separate topic, there are few of them and only two Renegade Jedi and an Overgrown Bat are remembered for the whole game, both on the same planet as if they were made by a separate team. Visual component and design of locations:Graphically, the game looks good, yes, there are flaws in how the clothes sit on the heroes, and the Wookiees look terrible, and the levels are periodically loaded, but in general, there are no special complaints about the graphics, it is quite decent. The level design is a pseudo open world of a bunch of gut-shaped sections. In principle, it was the same in God of war IV, but the overall impression is completely different. If upon arrival on a new planet you are still trying to find a beautiful landscape and even it turns out, then after going a little further everything becomes just a spot of the same color Kashyyyk green, Datomir red, Ilum white. At the same time, the elements of metroydvania are not badly served, but there is no quick movement between the meditation points and this is almost the main flaw in the game. The first hour feels like a good adventure game, then the pace drops sharply dialogues and characters are almost not added gameplay falls into running around the walls and jumping on vines. From what I liked: The scene with Order 66, the customization of the lightsaber, the feeling of the irresistible power of the empire, Darth Vader. In general, if they take into account the mistakes and twist towards adventures, then the continuation will really be the game about which it can be said that it is the best of what has been in a distant, distant galaxy for a long, long time.
Some free advice. Try breaking up your paragraphs with a blank line in between them to make them more readable. And don't use paragraphs that are 12 lines long - people see that and they skip it - nobody wants to read something like that. I tried reading your comment but at times it read like you were talking about another game.
Honestly youre such a crybaby Sarah, its adorable and I enjoyed watching this playthrough. I saw you have A Plague Tale Requiem playthrough up, I'm assuming you played the first one? I don't see it on your channel.
"I would have turned to the dark side". Yeah, and then you'd be dead since Vader is not looking for someone to grovel at his feet when they know he's beaten them. The ending was a little weak, since it was the Force all along that he was supposed to be trusting, the one thing that guided him to the holocron with the list of all the Force Sensitive children on it, the one thing that made it all possible to restart the Jedi Order...and then he destroys it.
The ending wasn't "a little weak". The Force literally showed Cal a vision of the future - if he had used the holocron to gather the children then eventually the Empire would have found them, most of the kids would have been killed, Cal would be forced to surrender to spare the remaining kids, and Cal would become an Inquisitor. Once he saw that, destroying it was the only option. He had to keep that list out of the Empire's hands.
