I have had this Countyline 35 ton splitter since I moved to the farm almost 10 years ago and this is the first time it has been out of commission. Since I need a constant supply of wood I need to get this fixed ASAP

Good that you have the gap filled up, but I think to give it a stronger support, run your bolt through the hole and on the side that pulled out, weld the castle nut to the flange.

I just use a worn-out screwdriver to keep the ram channel clear. It stays with the splitter and I always clear the channel when I finish for the day and whenever it needs it. A friend uses his gas powered power washer.

Throw some used motor oil every couple of splits to keep it running smooth, that’s what I do for mine, it keeps the rust off and keeps the wear and tear low

Mine iz the same splitter. Thankz for the info.your bucket can be used az a table on the splitter. Throw the rounds back into The bucket after picking up the rounds.lot less bending over.

A face cord shares the 4-foot height and 8-foot length with the full cord. The difference is the width. A standard full cord is 4 feet deep, which usually consists of three stacks of 16-inch-long wood. However, the face cord is only one stack deep, making it approximately 1/3 the size of a full cord.

Great video at least you know how much wood you are going to go through so then you can plan for the future and the splitter is somthing you definately need hopefully you can get ahead and then there is less work to be done

Wow. Are you sure your math is correct? We have an 15 yo classic wood stove heating our water and 1860's two-story in Wisconsin. We fill the stove twice a day and it runs for 7 months. We burn between 10-12 cord ...depending on the severity of the winter.

Operator Error.......... Not properly maintaining the Splitter. Are you sure you weren't using something to Stop the Return short of full retract? Several people have reported their mistake in thinking they could just jam something in to stop the wedge and kick the Auto-return into the Neutral position. When attempted, the wedge is Stopping instantly but the Piston is still pulling at several thousand PSI. Eventually the wedge is left behind as retracts to the home position.
