Just seemed to be all over the place. The beginning was good, but the fact that James Harden was mysteriously resurrected kind of threw me off. Really does suck though.

Even distancing the art from artist, I nonetheless found this final chapter to the series disappointing. Barring the derisory scatter of humorous imagery, the remainder is anæmic fluff. For a denouement so embarrassingly predictable, even the chronology is a rushed, abortive gallimaufry of basic checklist tropes. The Pope returns (duh), reunites with DigBar, and the Pope discusses his revenge against Harden. This constitutes more than half of the song yet can be easily summarized in a minute. For a moment, Harden and the Pope duel in perhaps the most bathetic, cardboard b*stardization of the already contrived “good v. evil” narrative format. This one epic fight that heretofore was anticipated for the past four episodes is utterly barren of wit, pathos, virtu, and overall imagination. It’s like if Thucydides tried summarizing the Peloponnesian war on a Laffy Taffy wrapper. The highly anticipated crucible between two erstwhile complicated characters, each fraught with their own detriments and follies, is reduced to the remedial, senseless bifurcation of “Pope is good guy, Harden is bad guy, good guy always wins”. And the battle is so blandly depicted that not only are the characters not worth investing in (as they fail to exhibit any epistemological or emotional change), but the entire scene falls flat. And if you’re looking for the classic coital hilarities found in previous editions and as expected in the final fight, look elsewhere. Because the meager s*xual imagery mostly describes objects in relation to their respective characters rather than revealing how their actions affect the plot or the humour. A dildoic sword is utilized in the fight, but its inclusion is really for a cheap gag of “hah, a sword with THAT on it? It’s funny because he mentioned the weapon is also an inappropriate object”! Otherwise, this particularly ph***ic weapon serves no other purpose to advancing anything. For a finale where its most pertinent event is carelessly grazed over, the most INSULTING rubbish is undoubtedly at the end, in which the Dig hands the Pope his mic. The Pope takes the mic and “raps” like the ending to some cheesy 2000s kids film. In his stillborn attempt to spit flame, the Pope blathers even more rudimentary retellings of a story we’ve already heard, but sprinkled with vapid, self-onanistic epithets about DigBar being the “GOAT”. Why, a few lines were even exchanged earlier where Dig advertises his album to a consumeristic Pope. More time was allotted to the braindead, flatulent chaff of the Pope rapping about how great DigBar is than the actual fight scene anticipated for the whole series. We listened to this series for four episodes only for Dig to abridge and sideline the final battle in order to brag about himself even more.
