As EBen said, to make a difficult mod you have to find creative ways to revamp the original missions If the missions are just a matter of trial and error simply because of a few explosive barrels and/or 100% accuracy enemies, instead of figure new things out, it's not good. With that said, it's obvious that people (including myself) says that DinosauraBytes' mod is way better

The whole mod is honestly just one big headache. Oh and before people jump on me and defend the mod, let me ask you something: How is removing the crosshair, making cars explosion proof and make the enemies have better fire rate than cj does make it any fair or "hard"??? And don't get started on the random fucking explosives anywhere. If anything, this is a mod meant to annoy you, not be difficult. It's not a bad idea to take your twist on something but seriously, is that all the person behind could've come up with?

No there are actually changes in the SF chapter that make it less boring than Vanilla.

I agree with your take for the most part but I do think the barrels everywhere is a cheap and uncreative way of making the game anti speedrun. Other mods have done anti speedrun in much more inventive ways. My solution is to keep the speedrun routes in but make them a lot more risky and precise to do but not impossible. Place obstacles down like explosive barrels but have them under a ramp which you have to gap or something like that. That way it’s still a hardcore mod but without the hinderances. Also that door you have to punch open was dumb but only because it’s not explained to the player how they operate. Actually needing to punch the door open directly to a room full of gun wielding enemies is a good set piece though because that way you’re left unprepared without a weapon and face an ambush. That’s exactly what a hardcore mod is all about.

Admittedly, Tightened 'Reas is heavily focused on having the missions get progressively harder and creating a little skill ceiling, SA is a very VERY large game unlike GTA 3 or Vice City, while Tightened 'Reas first missions are mostly just fun and silly and not hard, the missions overall begin getting very very hard (The LV chapter so far seems to show some VERY difficult missions)
